A naive and somewhat foolish old bachelor approaching his fifties, he is determined to marry her at any cost. Around Bay Mihal, there are flattering matchmakers assuring him that she also loves him. He is generous and extravagant, blindly believing their words that they will persuade her to accept him. However, Radka has no idea that Bay Mihal has feelings for her.
