Oliver Chadwick
Birthday: 2002-04-18 | Place of Birth: Manchester, England, UKI'm Oliver Chadwick, a neurodiverse experimental and documentary filmmaker, and photographer. I'm a skilled cinematographer, editor, and photographer. I am interested in making films about people and society, mental illness, and showcasing underrepresented cultures within the world. I like the works of Harmony Korine, Gus Van Sant, Will Sharpe, and Spike Jonze, I am inspired by the dark and twisted themes that these filmmakers focus on, as well as the abstract techniques they use. I also enjoy thought-provoking documentaries such as Prison by Paddy Wrivell or Cow by Andrea Arnold and carry the sense of realism and down-to-earthness I see in these documentaries into my own films. I enjoy making films around my struggles with mental health as well as the struggles those around me have with their mental health, crime, poverty, and abuse, I think the dark stories need to be shared and exposed to create a sense of relatability, to explain to the world what's going on in people's minds and to inspire or create positive change within society. I also love comedy and I'm inspired by the works of Jeff Tremaine, Johnny Knoxville, and Jackass, as well as the absurdist comedy we see in the Eric Andrea Show. I'm always up for a mockumentary or Satire such as Cunk On Earth or What We Do In The Shadows. I love to combine my dark and twisted world with comedy to create films that are fun, informative, and inspiring.
