Charlie Vjestica
Birthday: 2005-01-11 | Place of Birth: Stockport, Greater Manchester, UKCharlie Johan James Vjestica is a British filmmaker from Manchester, United Kingdom. Born to parents Andre and Tracy Vjestica, Charlie was raised in burrows of Stockport where he was introduced to the world of film by his family via blockbusters such as Sam Raimi's original Spiderman trilogy and Michael Bay's Transformers movies. As well as this he was also shown more classical pieces of film by his father such as Don Chaffey's 1963 movie Jason and the Argonauts, Vjestica considers these films to be the original driving force behind his fascination and admiration for the world of cinema as they showcased timeless techniques of filmmaking that define the age they're a part of. in his younger years he perused an acting career, appearing in a multitude of stage productions across his home town, going on to win a N.O.D.A award in the best youth comedy performance category of 2019 for his role in a winter pantomime. His pursuit of an acting career lasted from Vjestica's early years to his late teens, where he finally began to reevalutate his chosen career path, he believed acting didn't allow him to completely utilise his creative skills to their fullest potential, and as a result gave up his acting career for a more behind the curtain career path. Vjestica still has high admiration for actors and the art as a whole, and has sometimes gone to step in as an actor in his own productions in recent history. In 2021 Charlie as well as his two close friends Beach Darnley and Will Grant decided to begin setting up a small production company titled 'Legacy Cinema', which has gone on to he recognised for awards such as the 2022 Aldridge Film Festival, where their debut film 'Black Note' was nominated for the best documentary category, Vjestica was also selected to host the awards ceremony for its many prestigious guests. Vjestica and his business partners have worked closely with clients around Media City UK, where their company is stationed. Their work consists of film crew for people such as Britain's Got Talent winner John Courtney, the Lowery Theatre and smaller clients such as work within schools. Vjestica is currently dating his long term partner Amelia Wilkinson, whom he met during his high school years, they're seen together frequently when attending film events and ceremonies, Amelia has also assisted Charlie in numerous projects both inside and out of the Legacy Cinema name. Charlie and his business Partner Beach Darnley have been life long friends since their early years at Arden Primary School, they share the same ideology and creative minds when it comes to filmmaking which is one of the main reasons they decided to set up Legacy Cinema to begin with.
