In the second-season opener, Wilma thinks she'll have to reveal her unattached status at a grand family bash in honor of her grandmother's birthday, but Maxey steps in and pretends to be her fiance, a prominent plastic surgeon. Meanwhile, Darice still can't shake off ardent suitor Zack, who's been hired to paint the office.
When Maxey & Wilma break off their relationship, it has a profound and unseen effect on Maxey. While having a romp with 5 sexy females, (every man's dream), Maxey realizes that his ""spark"" is gone, and he is unable to rise to the occassion. Later he realizes that his feelings for Wilma went deeper than he realized.
When Maxey's elderly neighbor dies, her estate goes to Maxey. But the dead woman's family, convinced he manipulated her, decides to sue, and Wilma agrees to be his lawyer and be a character witness.
Maxey fights his first death penalty case, representing a dog that's in danger of being euthanized.
Greg falls for Maxey's beautiful new client, unaware she's really a transvestite.
Maxey, Wilma and Greg gives a complete makeover to Maxey's newest client, a rough and tough ex-convict, hoping it will convince the judge that he deserves a second chance.
Darice's sudden engagement prompts members of the law firm to reexamine their own love lives---or lack thereof. Maxey & Wilma decide to officially announce that they are dating. When Darice's finance dumps her & leaves her broken hearted, Greg tries to console her.

Alonzo meets and hastily marries a beautiful Latina he meets in Las Vegas, but soon thereafter he asks Maxey and Greg to help him get out of his predicament. Trouble is, the Sparks sons really like their new in-law.
Greg is thrilled when he hits it off with a new woman but when he finds out that Maxey had already been involved with her, he develops a bad case of apathy, which requires some brotherly intervention.
LaMarr hires detective Floyd Pitts to track down his biological parents. Turns out the office assistant's father is a wealthy industrialist. But is the ""dad"" the real deal?

At a dinner that Maxey does his best to interrupt, an old law school professor of Wilma's, who is now practicing at a top dollar establishment, proposes that Wilma join his firm as a partner.
