2013 / NRJodha Akbar is an epic drama about a sixteenth century story of the political marriage of convenience between a Mughal emperor Abu'l-Fath Jalal ud-din Muhammad Akbar and a Rajput princess Jodha Bai. The show focuses on how their political marriage brings love between them to an extent that it changed the fate of India. This period drama also portrays the wars of that time along with the relations between the Mughals and the Rajputs. The drama also focuses on the functioning of the queens, the courts, courtesans, the ministers and their influence on the love story of Jalal ud-din Muhammad Akbar and Jodha Bai. The show also highlights on how Mughal emperor Jalal ud-din Muhammad acquires the title of Akbar from the people.

Bairam Khan's guidance turns Jalal into a vicious ruler, whose aim is to conquer the entire nation. Jodha is prophesied to be the one who can bring a change in the heartless ruler.
Jodha pledges to behead Jalal. Jalal arrives at Sharifuddin's province to attack the Rajputs. Later, Shaguni Bai predicts Jodha's future.
Bharmal plots against Jalal. Contrarily, Jalal is desperate to learn about the Rajputs' most valuable asset. Later, Bharmal decides to choose a groom for Jodha.
Rajput kings arrive for the conference. Further, Bharmal appoints his son, Chiranjeev Bhagwant Das as the new king. Later, Jalal decides to attack the Rajputs during Gangaur.
Jalal sneers at Hamida for deserting him. Sukanya falls for Suryabhan, but Bharmal selects him as Jodha's groom. Later, Jodha wishes to be the reason behind Jalal's downfall.
Bairam informs Jalal that Bharmal is planning on uniting with the other Rajput kings. Sukanya is enraged to learn about Suryabhan's proposal. Later, Jalal disguises as a Rajput.
Suryabhan refuses to marry Sukanya. Jalal is mesmerized upon seeing Jodha for the first time and wishes to pursue her. Later, Jodha sees Jalal's reflection in the water.
Jodha tells Mainawati that she saw Suryabhan's reflection. Bharmal declares Jodha's wedding with Suryabhan. Later, Bharmal orders to behead Abdul when Suryabhan reveals his truth.
Jodha saves Abdul. Further, Jalal reaches the 'Shahi Karagar'. When Bairam penalizes Zahir by blinding him, Anga warns him against killing Jalal's loyal followers.
Jodha asks Jalal to prove that he is a Rajput soldier. Further, Abdul escapes from prison with Jalal's help. Later, Jodha realizes that she had seen Jalal's reflection.
Suryabhan tries to capture the fleeing duo, Jalal and Abdul. Bharmal is livid after being unable to capture Jalal. Suryabhan, enraged, vows not to marry Jodha till he captures the fugitive. Jalal and Abdul find a battery of soldiers approaching them.
Hamida feels blessed after hearing a saint's prophecy. Jalal and Anga meet each other. Jalal fumes red with anger after knowing that Bairam had ordered to gouge Zahir's eyes out. Furious, he leaves for Agra.
The harem rejoices at Jalal's return. An over-protective Anga insists on Jalal's security. He meets Ruqaiya after a long period of time and engages in a game of chess with her.
Ruqaiya checkmates Jalal. Later, she scolds Pinaz. Shaguni's scornful words fall on Mainawati's deaf ears. Suryabhan and Jodha realize that they have been conned. Soon, they encounter a furious Bharmal.
Mainawati tricks Suryabhan into marrying Jodha. Sujamal learns about the impending Mughal attack on Amer. Anga throws away a Hindu woman's religious locket into boiling water. Hoshiyar requests Jalal to free Zahir from Bairam's clutches.
Ruqaiya's assassin Resham, a eunuch, is on a mission to poison Zahir. When Jalal rebukes Ruqaiya, Bairam defends himself and accuses Zahir of spreading canards about Jalal. Ruqaiya meets Jalal during his bath time and tries to sweet-
Jodha overhears Mainawati praising Reva. Furious, she confronts Mainawati. Sujamal seeks Sharifuddin's help in attacking Amer. At Meena Bazaar, Ruqaiya comes up with a plan. Attracting the harem's ire, she manages to sell a Pashmina shawl.
Jodha takes a dip in the holy Yamuna river. Hamida resists when Anga tries to stall Diwali celebrations. Bairam sentences Takhthamal to death. But, Jalal revokes the order as a token of gratitude toward's saving his father Humayun's life.
Adham Khan gets slapped by Anga for his vaulting ambition of taking Jalal's place. Jodha visits her fiancé, Suryabhan, on her way to Mathura. Later, Jalal summons Tabbasum, the painter, who painted his portrait, to create a portrait of Jodha.
Jalal gets Jodha's portrait made only to burn it. Meanwhile, Adham Khan reports to Anga how Bairam has disobeyed Jalal and killed Takhatmal. On hearing this, Jalal gets furious and has a heated debate with Bairam. Salima learns of Farida’s pregnancy.
As Jodha leaves Suryabhan's palace, he gives her a ring. Akbar learns of Farida being pregnant with Bahadur Khan’s child and decides to kill them both but Hamida intervenes. Later, Bairam confronts Anga for manipulating Jalal against him.
Jodha and Ruqaiya cross paths at a market. Jalal and Ruqaiya set out to hunt and Jodha saves the deer Ruqaiya targets. Jodha and her brothers get surrounded by local rebels while performing a ritual, and Sujamal comes to their rescue.
Jodha protests the pilgrimage tax and gives her necklace to Ruqaiya as tax on behalf of all the pilgrims. Anga keeps instigating Jalal to kill Bairam even though Jalal’s mother suggests otherwise. At last, Jalal forgives Bairam.
Bairam leaves the Sultanate. Anga proposes Bahadur Khan's name as the next Wazir. Jalal's widowed sister, Bakshi Banu, comes to Agra. Anga plans on binding Adham Khan and Bakshi in a wedlock. Mainawati consoles an unhappy Jodha, who regrets her marriage.
Ruqaiya confronts Anga as Adham orders Mubarak Lohani to kill Bairam. The Raj Purohit comes up with Jodha's wedding date as Sujamal and Sharifuddin decide to wage war on Amer. Anga pretentiously informs Jalal of Bairam's death leaving Jalal shattered.
Jalal is furious to learn about Bairam's murder. Jodha prepares for her wedding as Sangram informs Bharmal that Amer is under attack. Suryabhan joins the battle. A terrified Mainawati gives Jodha a pot of poison. Sharifuddin incites Sujamal to kill Suryabhan.
Sujamal hesitates to kill Suryabhan. Sharifuddin shoots Suryabhan and beheads him. Sujamal regrets Suryabhan's death. Sharifuddin raids the Rajputs and sends a message to Bharmal along with Suryabhan's severed head. Later, Bhagwant Das despises this cold gesture.
Suryabhan's death shocks everyone. A heartbroken Jodha convinces Bharmal to comply with Sharifuddin's condition. Sharifuddin decides to kill Sujamal, but the latter escapes. Anga is elated to learn that Jalal wants Bakshi and Sharifuddin to tie the knot.
Jodha wants to partake in the battle. Jalal weds Salima, Bairam's wife. Jalal decides to punish Adham for his deceit, but Anga saves him. Chughtai Khan suggests Bharmal inform Jalal of Sharifuddin's atrocities. Sharifuddin pays Jodha a visit.
Jodha wakes up, jolted by Sharifuddin in a dream, and Dadi Sa pacifies her. Jalal wants to kill Adham for his betrayal. Anga rescues Adham by slyly eliminating witnesses and acquitting Adham of all charges. Later, Chughtai convinces Jalal to meet Bharmal.
Bharmal and Jalal fail to make peace. Chughtai suggests Jodha's alliance with Jalal for the better. Bharmal initially refuses but later agrees. Thereafter, Jalal promises to release Bharmal's sons and return Amer to him. A saint tells Jalal something pleasant.
Resham informs Anga about Jodha and Jalal's alliance. Bharmal tells his family about Jodha and Jalal's marriage. Jodha agrees to marry for Amer's sake, unaware that she is about to marry Jalal.
Jodha doesn’t know anything about the groom her father has chosen for her. Pratap, a Rajput prince, insults Bharmal for bowing to the Mughals. A disguised Rajput attempts to murder Jalal but fails. Jalal sends him back with a message to Bharmal.
Sujamal tries to inform Jodha about Bharmal's treachery. But, Bhagwant Das attacks Sujamal and flees. Mainawati breaks down as she is unable to stop Jodha's marriage to Jalal and Apoorva consoles her. Later, Jalal prepares for his wedding.
Jodha doesn’t know anything about the groom her father has chosen for her. Pratap, a Rajput prince, insults Bharmal for bowing to the Mughals. A disguised Rajput attempts to murder Jalal but fails. Jalal sends him back with a message to Bharmal.
Jalal agrees to the two conditions Jodha puts forward. Later, Dadi Sa spots Sujamal, disguised as a worker, at Jodha's wedding and rebukes him. Sujamal explains his plight and begs Dadi Sa to let him take part in the wedding.
Mainawati brings parting gifts for Jodha from her siblings, Dadi Sa, and Bharmal. Meanwhile, Adham Khan's plan fails and he kills Aslam before he reveals his name. Later, during the wedding ceremony, Jodha's sisters steal Jalal's shoes.
Jalal is annoyed as Jodha does not show up to sing. Further, when he visits Jodha, she attacks and wounds him. Pratap rebukes Sujamal for trying to form a treaty with the Mughals and compels him to repent. Later, Hamida shows Jodha around.
Mainawati visits Shaguni Bai to know about Jodha's future. At Jalal's palace, Jodha offers prayers to Lord Krishna, leaving Anga annoyed. Further, Jodha accepts the gifts that Hamida brings for her. Ruqaiya and Anga plot against Jodha.
Ruqaiya informs Jalal of Jodha's disinterest in him, making him furious. He goes to the harem and misbehaves with her. Jodha offers prayers in the harem, much to Ruqaiya and Jalal's wives' fury. Later, Maan Singh visits Jodha in the harem, and Jalal questions him.
Jalal ends up training Maan Singh. As soon as Jodha gets to know that her family is visiting her, she develops cold feet. Moti Bai presses Jodha to urge Jalal to maintain the secrecy about their relationship. Jalal abides, albeit with a cheeky proposition.
Jalal welcomes Bharmal and Mainwati. Jodha and Mainwati share an emotional moment. Further, Jalal bestows a prestigious title on Bharmal. Anga tampers with the food prepared by Jodha for Jalal.
Jodha fears that Jalal might reveal the truth to her parents. Jalal and Ruqaiya discuss ways to inflict harm on an unsuspecting Jodha. Later, he threatens Jodha. Adham gets hold of two men associated with a Hindu King.
Jodha reprimands Adham for blasphemy. Jalal, however, warns her to stay away from political matters. Much to Adham's dismay, Jalal frees the nomadic tribe and asks them to perform. Hamida dresses up Jodha for an event. Ruqaiya lures Jodha to a game of chess.
On defeating Ruqaiya in a game of chess, Jodha refuses to accept Jalal's grant. Jalal pacifies an enraged Ruqaiya. Jalal arrests a Hindu couple for questioning him. Later, Jodha tries to hide her tears from Mainawati, but the latter figures it out.
Adham tries to molest Moti, who takes shelter in the harem. Jodha runs into Adham in the harem and sees his dagger. Resham informs Anga about Adham's deeds. On Jalal's order, women in the harem show their faces, except one.
A man lays dead in the harem’s kitchen. On searching the dead man, Resham finds a letter addressed to Moti. Jalal decides to solve the matter in Diwan-e-Khas. When Moti confides in Anga, Shaguni predicts Jodha and Jalal's relationship will take a turn soon.
At the Diwan-e-Khas, Anga tells Jalal that Adham is in Mathura. Further, Jalal decides to confirm the information before taking a decision. A messenger confirms Adham's alibi, and Jalal orders to bury Moti alive. A helpless Jodha fails to rescue Moti.
Jodha reminds Jalal of his grant and asks him to spare Moti’s life. Akbar agrees and Anga tries to insult Jodha. However, Jodha pities Anga for not respecting women in spite of being a woman herself. Ruqaiya witnesses Jodha and Jalal indulge in a sword fight.
Jodha impresses Jalal with her sword-fighting skills. Further, she rescues Rahim after he falls into the lake. Jalal accuses Jodha of being reckless in front of other men. Sharifuddin ill-treats Bakshi. Jodha learns that Jalal is fond of chicken.
Salima informs Jodha about Ruqaiya's relationship with Jalal and her inability to bear a child. Pir Baba declares that Jodha will give birth to the Sultanate's heir. Jalal asks Jodha to fake her pregnancy.
Jodha refuses to fake pregnancy. Hamida believes that her vow will bring Jodha closer to Jalal. Jalal is on cloud nine after hearing that Ruqaiya has conceived. Ruqaiya expresses her desire of gaining the coveted 'Wazir-E-Ala' title.
Ruqaiya's pregnancy brings a smile to everyone's face and they look forward to the birth of the successor of the Mughal empire. Repugnant, Ruqaiya scoffs at Jodha's poem. Later, Jalal is awestruck after Jodha begins to elucidate.
Adham lashes out at Anga. The Royal Courtiers are all set to celebrate Ruqaiya's pregnancy. Underappreciated, Adham expresses his angst to Anga. Jalal asks Jodha to offer saffron milk to Ruqaiya and mark the commencement of celebrations.
Ruqaiya suffers from a miscarriage. Khwaja-Sara informs Jalal about Ruqaiya's consumption of Datura Juice. Anga hints at Jodha's role in killing Ruqaiya's unborn baby. Subsequently, Ruqaiya asks Jalal to punish Jodha.
Jalal, red with fury, orders for the incarceration and execution of Jodha and her brothers. Salima, however, suggests that Jodha could be innocent. Maan Singh and Hamida defend Jodha and claim that she is being framed.
placing Jodha and her brothers under house arrest, Jalal asks them to prove their innocence in 10 days. Ruqaiya hints at a bigger conspiracy. Bharmal thanks Raja Bhawani Singh for accepting Sukanya's marriage proposal.
Jodha warns Jalal against insulting Bharmal. Upon Bharmal's arrival, Jalal chooses to insult and misbehave with him. Further, Jalal threatens Bharmal with dire consequences over Jodha's role in Ruqaiya's miscarriage.
Jodha wakes up from a nightmare. Ruqaiya summons Jalal's wives and asks them to find the culprit. Jalal receives a tip-off about Prince Ratan Singh and his father, the King of Sujanpur sheltering dacoits.
Jalal and Ruqaiya discuss how he will make Jodha suffer by making her brothers kill Ratan Singh. Hamida wishes for Jodha to perform the 'tilak' ceremony. A man informs Ruqaiya about his creation of a special box that keeps things from rotting.
Ruqaiya decides to get hold of the culprit with the little information that she received from the box maker. On the other hand, Jodha's brothers save Jalal's life in the war.
Jodha lies to Jalal and states that she was responsible for Ruqaiya's miscarriage. Jalal almost kills her, but Ruqaiya saves Jodha, by stating that Jodha is innocent.
Jalal frees Jodha and her brothers as they are proven innocent of causing Ruqaiya's miscarriage. Later, Jalal pays a visit to Salima, who is the alleged culprit.
By conducting a simple test, Jalal realizes that Salima is not guilty of causing Ruqaiya's miscarriage. Later, as Anga questions Jalal about Jodha, he shows her the box.
Anga is shocked to see the vessel in Jalal's possession. Bharmal's sons decide to return after Jalal realizes his mistake. Later, Jodha is shocked to learn that Anga is the killer.
Jodha tells Moti that she needs proof to expose Anga. Jodha accuses Anga of killing Ruqaiya's unborn baby. However, in front of Jalal, Anga pretends to be innocent.
Jalal rebukes Jodha for alleging that Anga killed his heir. Thereafter, she presents Rahim, as a witness to Anga's crime, before Jalal. Later, Pratap plots against the Mughals.
Rahim lies to Jalal out of fear. Further, Pratap warns Bharmal against supporting the Mughals. From Altaf's description, the painter draws Anga's sketch, much to Jalal's shock.
An innocent Rahim discloses Anga's deeds to Jalal. Jalal then declares to reveal the killer's name to everyone. Further, Adham asks Anga to escape, and she unlocks a secret exit.
Jalal gives Jodha options to either give divorce him or live as his wife. Later, Jalal reveals to everyone that the actual wrongdoer is Anga's look-alike, not Anga.
akhi wanted to avenge her sons' death. Jalal then orders to decapitate her and apologises to Jodha and her brothers. Later, Anga reveals to Jodha that she killed Jalal's child.
Bhagwant Das returns to Amer along with his brothers. Anga tells Adham how she used Lakhi to save her neck. Later, Jodha remains adamant about not participating in Meena Bazar.
Jalal is impressed by Ruqaiya's 'dupattas' and buys one each for Ruqaiya, Salima, and Jodha. Later, Jalal visits Jodha's tent, but she smears colours on the 'dupatta' Jalal got for her.
odha is in trouble for smearing colours on Anga. Anga complains to Jalal, who fiercely rebukes Jodha. Later, Anga discloses that Mainawati has arrived to punish Jodha.
Mainawati makes it clear to Jodha that she cannot return to Amer as that would tarnish their family's reputation. Later, Jalal orders a search for Jodha when she goes missing.
Jalal saves Jodha from drowning in the river. Thereafter, he confesses to Anga that he can feel Jodha's pain. Later, Peer Baba suggests a remedy that can save Jalal.
Jalal successfully rescues Jodha from drowning. Later, as the first rays of the sun fall on Jodha, it is decided that she will accompany Jalal to Ajmer Sharif.
Ruqaiya worries about losing Jalal to Jodha. Jalal and Jodha set out for Ajmer Sharif. Later, Jalal saves Jodha from the perils that they face during the trip.
Jodha and Jalal reach Ajmer Sharif and offer their prayers together. Following the prayers, Jalal decides to go hunting and is accompanied by Jodha. Later, Jalal faces a tiger.
Jodha informs Jalal that she has taken the bullets out of his gun. Jalal gets wounded while fighting the tiger. Later, Jalal is brought to Agra and is administered medication.
Jalal gets severely injured by a tiger as he fights with it bare-handed. Jodha discloses Jalal's health to Ruqaiya, who slaps her. Later, Jodha prepares medicine for Jalal.
Sharifuddin and Adham send soldiers to stop the 'hakim' of Gwalior from visiting Agra. However, he escapes the soldiers and reaches Jalal. Later, Jalal regains his senses.
Sharifuddin gives Adham the news of Jalal's well-being, and they discuss his dynasty. Later, Bharmal comes to invite Jodha, Jalal and the other Mughals to Sukanya's wedding.
Jalal firmly informs Anga, Ruqaiya, and Ataga Khan that he will be going to Amer. Later, Adham and Sharifuddin plan to attack Jalal on his way to Amer.
Maharana Pratap, who is invited to Sukanya's wedding, plans on gauging Jalal, to fight him better. On the other hand, Jalal and Jodha are attacked on their boat ride.
Jalal and Jodha are saved from the attackers. The next day, Bharmal welcomes Jalal to his palace. Later, as Maharana Pratap reaches the palace, he comes across Jalal.
Jodha asks Jalal to not fight with Pratap at the wedding. The next day, Jalal goes to the temple with Jodha and helps her fulfill the promise that she made to the deity.
Anga gets the news of Jalal accompanying Jodha to the temple and is furious with Jodha. Later, Anga questions Jalal regarding his decision to visit the temple.
Jodha tells Sukanya that she did not consummate her marriage. Afterward, Jalal teaches archery to Maan Singh. Later, Jodha amazes Jalal with her archery skills.
Jodha talks about Prithvi Raj Chauhan's courage and nerve to Jalal. Anga burns Maasa's gift to avenge Jodha's deed. Later, a courtier asks Pratap and Jalal to play a game of dice.
Bhagwant orders a guard to interrupt the game between Pratap and Jalal. Adham orders to spike Hawai's food. Later, when Hawai behaves abnormally, Jalal brings him under control.
Bharmal promises to catch the wrongdoer. Later, Jodha asks Jalal to return to Agra. When Jalal learns that Jodha will be dancing at the 'Mehendi' ceremony, he decides to go there.
Jodha taunts Jalal for being present at the function, where men are not allowed. Later, Sharifuddin lies when Achal Singh claims that he vowed to give them the Ratanpur Fort
Jalal is against granting the Fort to Achal Singh, as it is his property. Further, Pratap refuses to help Achal Singh. Wajendra apprises Jodha that he wants to marry Sukanya.
Jodha learns Sharifuddin's truth and informs the same to Jalal, but he disbelieves her. Further, when Jodha asks Bakshi to reveal the truth to Jalal, Bakshi lies to him.
Jodha apologizes to Jalal for opposing him. Further, Jalal cedes the Fort to Achal Singh, but he plans on winning it back after the wedding. Achal Singh assents to the marriage.
Jalal orders the Ratanpur Fort to be handed over to Dhabalgarh to ensure Sukanya's wedding. However, the Mughals capture the Fort as soon as the wedding concludes.
Jalal gives the Ratanpur Fort as a gift to Sukanya and heads back to Agra. However, Jodha falls sick, and Khwaja Shera informs Jalal of the only way to cure her.
Jodha regains her senses the next morning and learns that Jalal had made love to her the previous night. As they return to Agra, the 'Mawlawis' block Jalal's way to the palace.
Jodha is prevented from converting to Islam as a letter from Salim Chisti Sahab reaches Jalal's court. Later, Jalal informs Jodha that he had not made love to her but had merely covered her up with a black cloth to keep her warm.
Jodha prepares food for Jalal, which they eat sharing the same plate. On the other hand, Sharifuddin instigates the 'Maulawis' against Jalal so that he benefits from their rebellion. Ruqaiya waits for Jalal while the latter spends time with Jodha.
Sharifuddin crosses Jodha's path and tries to humiliate her. However, Jodha reveals that she knows that he is plotting with Adham against Jalal. Later, Jalal summons the 'Maulawis' at Diwan-e-Khas and teaches them a lesson.
Ruqaiya insults Jodha, but she replies curtly. Jalal is informed about an impending attack on Agra which will be led by his stepbrother-in-law, Abul Mali. Jalal decides to destroy him before the attack. Later, Jalal learns about Jodha's birthday from Rahim.
Jodha wakes up to a room full of Mughal ladies, who wish her on her birthday. Though extremely glad, Jodha misses her home as she receives letters from her family. Jodha's birthday is celebrated with grandeur, leaving Ruqaiya upset, but Jalal reassures her.
The 'hakim' claims that Jodha is pregnant. She feels violated by Jalal, while on the other hand, he suspects Jodha's integrity. Adham nags Anga and she advises him to be patient. Later, Ruqaiya lashes out at Jalal for consummating his marriage with Jodha.
Jalal is distraught with the thought of betrayal and unwillingly injures his soldiers while practicing swordsmanship. He also metes out severe punishment to a woman accused of adultery. Anga requests Jalal to meet men, who have arrived to bless his son.
Tension builds between Jodha and Jalal as the two accuse each other. Anga calls the hakim to be certain about Jodha's pregnancy. Jodha confides in Moti Bai, as she is offended by the accusation of adultery. Salima senses someone hiding in the kitchen.
Anga sends Resham to spread rumors about Jodha's adultery. Jalal summons Salima, who assures him that Jodha is innocent. Salima also says that the hakim might have committed a mistake. Hamida tells off Jodha for her disloyalty.
Jalal meets the 'hakim', who gives Jalal a medicine and says that if the consumption of the medicine induces nausea, Jodha’s pregnancy will be deemed negative. Salima medicates Jodha as Jalal waits for the results impatiently.
Jodha vomits, proving that she is not pregnant. Thereafter, the hakim warns Salima that whoever tried soiling Jodha's reputation might even try to tamper with her food. Later, a burqa-clad woman snatches medicine from the hakim and he is pursued by two killers.
Salima informs Jalal about the 'hakim's murder. They reach his workplace and find the letter he left for him and discover among other clues that the culprit is a burqa-clad woman. Jalal decides to trace the culprit amidst the festivities for his unborn heir.
As Jalal sets out to catch the culprit, Salima suspiciously gestures towards an attendant. The attendant leads them to Bakshi. On confronting Bakshi, she reveals that Sharifuddin forced her to do so. Jalal brings Bakshi to Jodha to confess to her misdeeds.
Bakshi seeks Jodha's forgiveness. Hamida slaps Bakshi and admonishes her for betraying Jalal. As Jodha apologizes to Jalal, he admits that he trusts her. Jodha talks to Salima about Bakshi, as Jalal orders them to be present at the Diwan-e-Khas.
Jalal asks Jodha to punish Bakshi, but Jodha forgives Bakshi. On being questioned Jodha tells Jalal that Bakshi was being used by Sharifuddin. Jalal informs the people that they would have to wait longer for the Sultanate's heir.
On being asked about loving Jalal, Ruqaiya fails to answer. Anga learns that Adham gave a necklace to a young maid. Hamida denies Bakshi from joining Jalal's birthday celebration. Later, Sharifuddin confides in a guard that he wanted Jodha as his wife.
Jalal refuses to accept Bakshi's gifts. Ruqaiya asks Jalal to solve some puzzles for his gift. When Jalal meets Rahim, who has the final clue to the gift, Rahim leads him to a Tulsi plant instead of a Neem tree leading Jalal to Jodha.
Jodha takes Jalal around his kingdom and makes him listen to the villagers' hitches. Jalal promises to dig a well to manage the water crisis. Ruqaiya asks Rahim if he asked Jalal to wait by the Neem tree. Jalal finds Ruqaiya's gift and is impressed by it.
Jalal realizes the importance of the villagers' good wishes and claims that Jodha's gift is superior to Ruqaiya's. Ruqaiya becomes furious at this and smashes a mirror. Jalal reassures Ruqaiya by stating that she will always remain irreplaceable.
Adham has an evil eye on Tasnim. Jodha spots Adham touching Tasnim inappropriately and talks to Tasnim's mother but in vain. Jalal appoints subedars to different provinces in the absence of Anga and Adham. Resham informs this to Anga and she takes offense.
Jodha complains to Jalal about Adham's impertinence. Jodha reminds Jalal that a woman's dignity must be protected. Adham announces at the Diwan-e-Khas his desire to marry Tasnim. Jalal faces a dilemma while delivering his verdict.
Jalal declares that he will pass the final verdict on Adham's actions the following day. Jodha reminds Jalal that women are not provinces to be won by force. Anga warns Ruqaiya and advises her to counter Jodha rather than interfere in matters of the court.
Jalal asks Tasnim about her idea of marriage, but her ideas seem childish. Jalal disguises himself as a bangle seller and learns that Tasnim's parents are forcing her into marriage. Jalal relates to Jodha's words and decides to change the law.
Jalal is furious as Adham reasons that Jalal married Ruqaiya when she was a child and therefore, must separate from her. Jodha rues her fate as her decision to help women has put Ruqaiya's marriage in trouble.

Anga asks Ramtanu to sing some love songs at Jalal's court to increase Jalal's love for Jodha, and he agrees. Ramtanu's music fills Jalal with love for Jodha and, on Anga's instigation, a drunk Jalal decides to go to Jodha's room.

Ramtanu Pandey refuses Jalal's gifts but accepts Jodha's. As Jodha feeds the pigeons, Benazir comes and taunts her about Jalal. Meanwhile, Sharifuddin and Adham fight in prison. Later, Jalal permits Anga to meet Adham whenever she desires.

Hakim informs Salima and Jalal about Abul Mali's conspiracy against Jalal. Benazir gets intimate with Maqsood and kills him. As the snake attacks Jodha, Benazir comes to her rescue. Benazir ingests the venom as she is a 'vishkanya', a poison damsel.
A fighter named Imtiaz challenges Jalal for a fight and he agrees. Imtiaz, Mali's accomplice, asks Benazir to kill Jalal the following night. Later, Hakim asks Ataga to tighten up the security during the fight.
Hakim finds Benazir's letter, and the letter written in Awadhi surprises him. Benazir tries to get close to Jalal in order to kill him, but Ruqaiya unknowingly mars Benazir's attempt. Anga suggests Jalal let Adham fight Imtiaz.
Adham defeats Imtiaz and kills him. Jalal then acquits him of all the charges. Adham is smitten on seeing Benazir, but Anga chides him. Later, Sharifuddin learns that Benazir is in Agra and writes a letter to Jodha asking her to meet him.
Jodha meets Sharifuddin and learns about Mali's escape from Kabul. Bhagwant Das and Shivani arrive in Agra. Shivani plans on eloping with her love, Tejwant, an artisan. Later, Hakim informs Jalal about Benazir's letter, and Jalal decides to talk to her.
Jalal questions Benazir about the letter. Although Jodha manages to warn Jalal about the danger, she misses an opportunity to talk to him in detail. Mali receives Benazir's letter and decides to come to Agra.
Benazir tries to lure Jalal while he pushes her away. Hakim finds a dead snake in the garden and informs Jodha about 'Vishkanya', a girl who takes snake bites to sustain her life. Later, Jodha talks to Hamida about Hakim and Shivani's wedding.

Tejwant hugs Shivani and assures her that they would elope. Anga spies on them and thinks of the mayhem that is about to ensue. Jodha appears in front of everyone wearing the dress given to her by Hamida. Jalal is left stunned seeing her beauty.
Jalal talks to Bharmal about the rapid expansion of the Sultanate. Bharmal suggests that Hakim would make a better chief than Bhagwant, as Bhagwant Das is governing Amer. Shivani escapes with Tejwant while Jodha is busy preparing for the puja.

Jalal lights the oil lamp at Jodha's temple. The hakim tries to cure Jodha, but her condition remains critical. Thereafter, Jalal requests his subjects to pray for Jodha. He also realizes that he loves her and tells her that he doesn't want to lose her.
Jodha finally regains consciousness. Jalal removes his crown and sword in front of his subjects and thanked them for praying for Jodha. Later, Jalal goes into Jodha's room and bows in front of the temple. He tells Moti Bai that he wants to talk to Jodha alone.

Jalal announces that a town, Fatehpur Sikri, will be established to honor Jodha's loyalty. He also declares that he would go on a pilgrimage to Sikri on foot. Ataga, Maan Singh and Hakim advise Jalal against the trip. Jalal decides to don a commoner's attire.

Jalal orders Adham to follow Pir Mohammad's lead for the battle. Anga orders Adham to capture Malwa and defeat Pir Mohammed to get back his place. Hoshiyar secretly informs Ruqaiya about Jodha's plan. Ruqaiya plans to defeat Jodha.
Hamida Banu doesn't believe that Jodha has placed the idols inside the harem. When Ruqaiya informs Jalal that Jodha has kept the idols, he does not believe her and supports Jodha. Jalal confronts Ruqaiya for keeping the idols.
Moti confronts Jodha about having feelings for Jalal and asks her to confess her love to him. Hamida requests Gulbadan to make Ruqaiya aware of her actions. Sharifuddin tries to romance Jodha's picture, but Bakshi interrupts him.
Ruqaiya votes for Jodha and makes her the winner. Hamida wonders about Ruqaiya's change of heart. When Sujamal meets Jodha, she confronts him about killing Jalal's relatives and asks him to leave. Ruqaiya informs Anga about her plan to win Jalal's faith.
A lady explains the errands of the harem to Jodha. Elsewhere, Hoshiyar informs Ruqaiya that Jalal visited Jodha. Sujamal learns that Jalal has invited the commoners for a celebration. Jodha addresses ladies from the harem and sets them free from bondage.
Jodha seeks Anga's permission to show Jalal around the harem. She also explains the inhumane customs of the harem and the agony of the women to Jalal. Sujamal overhears Abul Mali and Sharifuddin conspiring against Jalal. Anga poisons Ruqaiya's ears against Jodha.
Jalal offers Jodha the liberty to abolish slavery from the harem. Sujamal decides to inform Jodha that Jalal's life is in danger. Sujamal writes a message and sends it to Ataga. He gets shocked to learn about Mali's plan and gives the news to Sharifuddin.
Sharifuddin and Mali make plans to murder Jalal. Anga instigates Ruqaiya against Jodha. Jalal informs everyone that he is banning slavery and anyone who practices slavery will be punished. Later, Sujamal kills Mali's accomplice, who tried to kill Jalal.
Sharifuddin makes a false allegation against Sujamal that the latter tried to kill Jalal. Jalal then orders Ataga to capture Sujamal. Further, Jodha fails to convince Jalal that Sujamal did not try to kill him. Later, Sujamal disguises himself as a beggar to meet Jodha.

Jalal decides to leave Amer and search for Jodha on his own. Jodha arrives at Todarmal's ashram for shelter. The members of the ashram accept her, and she decides to stay there. Meanwhile, Jalal keeps looking for Jodha.
Jalal tells a soldier that he is going to Ajmer. Shehnaz asks Jodha if she is a queen. Sharifuddin visits Mali, who scolds him for not informing him about Jalal’s journey to Ajmer. Jalal reaches the dargah of Khwaja Garib Nawaz to pray for Jodha’s return.
Anga goes into Hamida's room to look for a firman. Ruqaiya feels distressed as Jalal relentlessly looks for Jodha, implying that he cares for her. Moreover, Rahim tells Ruqaiya that he misses Jodha. Jalal, posing as a common man, takes a dip in the river Yamuna.
Anga tries to extort information about the firman. Ataga confronts Adham about discrepancies in the accounts. Shehnaz and Jodha’s intervention irks the villagers while punishing a widow and they pelt stones at them. An unaware Jalal shields them from harm.
Jodha and Shehnaz getaway when they see Jalal while he fights with the villagers and saves the widow. Todarmal helps a wounded Jalal and tells him that he had helped his father Humayun. Jodha gives an ointment to a stranger to apply on Jalal's wounds.
Adham and Mali plot to kill Jalal. As Jodha and Jalal come across each other, he apologises to her and asks her to come back with him, but she refuses. Sharifuddin wants to take over the throne in Jalal's absence. Bharmal comes to the ashram to meet Jodha.
When Jodha refuses to forgive Jalal, Bharmal convinces her to come to Amer. Further, he assures Jalal that Jodha will forgive him. Jodha's grandmother is elated at the news of Jodha's return, but Mainawati is embarrassed to face Jodha. Later, Jalal misses Jodha.
Jalal gets surrounded by Mali and his soldiers. Elsewhere, Jodha and her family prepare for 'Gangaur'. At the festival, Jodha accidentally breaks a necklace, which is a symbol of safety for a woman's husband. Jodha tries to fix it and prays for Jalal’s safety.
Jalal defeats Mali and injures his eye. Bharmal's soldiers, who have been following Jalal, bring him to Amer. Later, Jodha spots Jalal resting in her room. Bharmal tells Jodha to take care of Jalal because he is a guest. Jodha reluctantly agrees to do it.
Anga locks up someone and interrogates the person. Hamida spots Anga going somewhere secretly and decides to follow her. Afterwards, Jalal sees Jodha practicing swordsmanship and challenges her to a duel. Jalal wins by cheating, which upsets Jodha.
Mainawati’s mother challenges Jalal for a game of spotting the bride. Aitmad Khan informs Ataga about an impostor trying to enter their harem. Meanwhile, Jalal successfully spots Jodha, however, she remains upset with him and refuses to return to Agra.
Hamida summons Anga under the suspicion of plotting against Jalal and confronts her about secretly going into the woods. Anga takes Hamida to the cave that she goes into. Elsewhere, Mainawati tries to convince Jodha to let go of her ego and go back to Jalal.
Ataga informs Jalal about Anga’s plot that had led him to lose his respect for Jodha. Jalal interrogates Anga about letting Sujamal into their harem as a eunuch. Anga admits to plotting against Jodha multiple times and not having any remorse for it.
Jalal severs his relationship with Anga. Ruqaiya tells Jalal that she had known about Sujamal disguising himself as a eunuch. Anga tells Adham that Ataga had provoked Jalal against her. Later, Shagunibai tells Jodha that she and Jalal are destined to be together.
Anga tries to talk to Jalal but in vain. Hamida tells him that he needs to deliver his judgment but remember that he owes his upbringing to Anga. Jalal decides to spend the night in Jodha’s room. Jodha dreams of Jalal telling her that he is incomplete without her.
Hoshiyar convinces Ruqaiya to attend the court for Anga’s hearing. During the hearing, Adham thinks of killing Ataga multiple times. Anga is summoned, and Ataga states her crimes. Later, Anga accepts to hear the punishment that is to be meted out to her.
Jalal strips Anga off all her authorities and hands over all the affairs of the state to Ataga and Munim Khan. Adham decides to take revenge on Ataga, but Anga stops him. Ataga informs Jalal of the irregularities in tax collection and treasury of the state.
Moti finds that Shivani has been captured as a hostage. Further, a furious Ruqaiya reprimands Anga for her actions, but Anga taunts her about her importance in Jalal’s life. After hearing Shivani and Tejwant’s plea, Jalal forgives them. Later, Jalal misses Jodha.
Bharmal refuses to forgive Shivani even after learning about Jalal’s judgment. Jalal bestows Todarmal with the responsibility of the finances. Adham and the others get angry at Jalal’s decision. Later, Tordarmal informs Jalal about the problems in the finances.
A disguised Jalal goes to the market to get an idea about the market prices and learns about his men exploiting the commoners. Jalal abolishes extra taxes levied on Hindus. When Jalal’s officials question his decision, he stands up for equality among religions.
The villagers learn about Jalal’s decision. Meanwhile, Pratap is informed about Jalal’s judgment, and he tries to understand his motives behind it. Anga decides to rebel against Jalal for Adham’s sake. Jodha tells Bharmal that she wants to return to Agra.
Jodha leaves for Agra. Jalal receives a message from Ajmer and asks Ruqaiya to read it out to him. Jalal is elated to learn that Jodha is returning to Agra and asks his officials to arrange for her grand welcome. Moti and Salima decide to decorate Jodha’s room.
Considering Jalal's happiness, Ruqaiya decides to look after the arrangements for Jodha’s return. Later, Anga tries to instigate Ruqaiya against Jodha. Upon Jodha’s arrival, she is welcomed by everyone in the palace.
Jodha and Jalal meet, and Ruqaiya is envious to see them together. Jalal decides to establish an idol of Lord Krishna for Jodha. Hamida apologizes to Jodha for leaving Agra. At night, Jodha goes to talk to Jalal, but he asks her to punish him for his conduct.
Jalal and Jodha share a romantic moment, but Ruqaiya spots them together. When Ruqaiya faints, Jalal and Jodha take care of her. Anga finds Shehnaz in her room and rebukes her. Jodha learns that Jalal used to offer prayers to the ‘Tulsi’ plant in her absence.
Ruqaiya interrupts Jalal and Jodha and gifts him a portrait. Jodha learns that Jalal has broken all ties with Anga. Salima tells Jodha that Anga had instigated Jalal against her and had also falsified Sujamal's character in front of Jalal. Jodha confronts Anga.
Anga blames Jodha for distancing Jalal from her and refuses to accept her as his wife. Jalal receives Sujamal's letter thanking him for abolishing slavery and pilgrimage tax. Hamida prepares to celebrate Jalal and Jodha's anniversary. Later, Jalal saves Rahim.
Jalal gets furious at Shehnaz and asks Jodha to send Shehnaz back to Mathura. Jodha consoles Shehnaz, who vows to usurp Jalal’s throne. Later, Jodha congratulates Jalal on their anniversary, while Ruqaiya feels frustrated by everyone’s affection towards Jodha.
Ruqaiya infuses something in the rose and asks her attendant to smell it. She faints after smelling the rose. Thereafter, Hoshiyar presents a bouquet of roses to Jalal. Ruqaiya gets surprised to find Jalal unaffected by the aroma and fumes as her plan fails.
Jalal forgives a prisoner, who had helped Benazir in an attempt to kill Jalal. Further, Jalal shows Jodha a secret mark on his bangle and follows the sign. Jodha and Jalal reach a wall and try to investigate it. However, when they find nothing there, they leave.
Jalal rushes to Ruqaiya after getting a piece of news from Hakima. Ruqaiya informs Jalal that she is carrying his child. Further, Jalal orders the servants to take extra care of Ruqaiya, who is pleased to have spoiled Jodha's celebrations.
Jalal requests Ataga to keep Ruqaiya's pregnancy a secret. Jalal tells Jodha about Ruqaiya's pregnancy. Jodha expresses her anger to Jalal for having so many wives, but he tells Jodha that he loves her unconditionally. Jodha also confesses her love for Jalal.
Adham plans to destroy Jalal. Sharifuddin asks him to wait for the right time. Ruqaiya finds Jodha sleeping in Jalal’s arms and feels devastated. She orders her female attendant to fetch Jodha immediately. Moti Bai informs Jodha that Ruqaiya has called for her.
Jodha visits a pregnant Ruqaiya, who asks Jodha to take care of her. Jalal decides to confront Ruqaiya, but Jodha stops him. Jodha forbids Ruqaiya from smoking hookah and massages her head. Jalal gets romantic with Jodha, while an anxious Ruqaiya smokes hookah.
Adham tries to molest Shehnaz, but Jodha saves her. When Zakira saves Rahim's life, Jalal grants her permission to stay at the palace. Jodha tests her honesty before allowing her to stay at the palace. Later, Jalal asks for Jodha's help in political issues.
