2014Inspired by the historical events of 1666 and with the decadent backdrop of King Charles II’s court, The Great Fire focuses on the circumstances which led to the catastrophic fire, Thomas Farriner’s family life at the bakery in Pudding Lane, the playboy King’s extravagant lifestyle, and Farriner’s complex relationship with his fictional sister in law, Sarah.

Thomas Farriner returns home to Pudding Lane to find the bakery ablaze and his two daughters asleep upstairs, unaware of the raging inferno below.
As the fire gains strength, Thomas bursts into Sarah's lodgings to lead his family to safety. The King follows Samuel Pepys' advice to survey the damage for himself.
The King is angry to learn that his orders to create fire-breaks have been ignored. Thomas finally finds Sarah on the streets and together they find shelter from the inferno.
Thomas has to reveal to Sarah that her husband Will is not dead but has run off to the colonies.
