A body is found in Bazza Swaty´s swimming pool. He tries to hide the proof and the body. Though things don't look good for him, he stubbornly refuses to defend himself. Captain Dardenne takes advantage of this to nail Bazza, instructing Faraday to go after him, while sidelining Winckler.
A young priest is killed in his rectory and his church ransacked as if the killer was looking for something. Winckler and Faraday initially suspect some young delinquents the deceased priest was helping. Then an unidentified woman is found dead, marked in a strange way.
A man is found dead in his car near a beach, shot in the head. The marksman appears to have been several hundred meters away at the time of the shot. Such a precise kill points to an execution.
An emergency doctor is found killed by a bullet in the back of the neck after being tortured. Shortly afterwards, the body of a former journalist is found: he had also been tortured before being drowned. Faraday and Winckler discover both had links with two young women who'd recently disappeared...
