This documentary series takes a look into the 101 people who were most responsible for shaping the world and how the people view it today.

We start the countdown by showcasing some of the movers and shakers of the 20th Century who changed the world, be it from the stage, the pulpit or the corridors of power.
From toy makers to dictators, the second episode journeys through the history of the twentieth century to uncover people you might not have heard of, and people the whole world knows.
The countdown continues and we encounter presidents, popes and even an infamous showgirl, each of whom has left their unmistakable mark on history.
At the halfway mark we encounter another controversial line up of heroes - including stars of stage and screen. People who have changed the way we think, how we see the world and even how we draw our maps.
In one of the most diverse episodes in the countdown we meet, among others, a man who became the face of the film industry, a revolutionary who took back his nation without waging war and a princess who broke our hearts.
The countdown moves towards its climax. We meet some of the greatest inventors, influential leaders, and most infamous villains of the twentieth century as we head towards the Top Twenty.
Life today would be very different were it not for the people in our Top Twenty - some of whom invented tools we use every day and some committed crimes which continue to effect people decades later.
In the final episode we count down the Top Ten people who made the twentieth century and reveal our pick for the most influential person of this era.
