2016Kahina Zadi, 32, a French police officer travels to Kiruna in Sweden to investigate the bestial murder of a French citizen. Together with Anders, a Swedish prosecutor of Sami origin, she begins an investigation. Soon new killings start to happen and the first victim turns out to be the tip of a very dark iceberg. The victims seemingly have nothing in common more than that they are all being killed in a well-planned and vicious manner. In their hunt for the truth, both Kahina and Anders are forced to deal with their own past that they have repressed. A personal journey through a painful past becomes the key to succeed in preventing the violent killings that affects the small mining community of Kiruna.

The brutal murder of a French citizen sees French homicide investigator Kahina Zadi go to Kiruna, Sweden - a small town in the Arctic Circle where the sun doesn't set. Together with Rutger Burlin she begins an investigation that soon takes on staggering proportions.
Anders receives information about another murder, and is becoming increasingly concerned about Kahina’s whereabouts. Waiting outside the police station is a young Frenchman who claims that he is Kahina’s son. Sparen considers going to the police to tell them everything he knows, but first he calls a meeting.
Anders and Kahina find unexpected and unpleasant links between the murder victims, and some of the residents of Kiruna. Kahina’s boss in Paris orders her to report her findings directly to the mysterious Frenchman. This is no longer an ordinary murder investigation, and Kahina begins to fear for her son’s life.
Eddie starts a fire in the depths of the mine, as Kahina races to stop his plan coming to fruition.
