Matthews takes the case of a cop killer who is depending on his little brother's false testimony to get him off. When the killer thinks Matthews is getting to friendly with his little brother, he fires Matthews.

Matthews quickly deduces that the man doesn't want to be linked to his father who is a prominent judge.
