Spring is coming to Moominvalley. The Moomin family wakes up from their hibernation. Moomin, Snuffle and Mumrick find a top hat that soon turns out to be a magician's hat. Small clouds emerge from eggshells. Moomin, Sniffle and the Snork Maiden enthusiastically ride on the flying little clouds.
Moomin, Snuffle, Snorkmaiden and Mumrick are playing blind man's buff in Moomin House. Moomin hides in the magic hat and is turned into a gnome. He pretends to be the King of California and gets into a fight with Schnüferl, which only Mama can settle. She recognizes her Moomin.
Moomin catches an ant lion and wants to test the magic cylinder on it. He weighs down the hat with Papa's dictionary. Words are running around the house. Because mum has to clean, dad finally wants to get rid of the hat.
Dad doesn't want the magic hat in the house anymore. The cylinder lands in the river. Where the hat has fallen, strange things happen: the fish turn into canaries, and the water turns into delicious raspberry juice.
Mom is doing a big cleaning and accidentally throws seeds into the cylinder. During the nap, the Moominhouse turns into a jungle. Moomin, Mumrick and Snuffle have fun with it. But then you have to clean up.
It's summer in Moominvalley. Nervous new guests Fitslan and Totslan startle the Moomins with news that the terrible Mora is on her way to the valley. All residents barricade themselves in their dwellings. The next morning, the Mora sweeps over the Moomin Valley with hoarfrost.
On a summer's day, the terrible Mora appears and demands the contents of Fitslan and Totslan's suitcase. A court hearing will be held. Mom uses the magician's hat and turns a handful of cherries into sparkling jewels. The mora depart with their loot.
It is autumn. Mumrick is leaving and won't be back until spring. Moomin is very sad about this. Totslan and Fitslan try to cheer him up and show him the secret of the suitcase: a dazzling ruby. Mum, on the other hand, is unlucky: she loses her handbag.
Everyone is still looking for Mama's handbag. The guests invited to the annual autumn festival also help out. The solution to the riddle: Totslan and Fitslan borrowed the bag and are finally returning it. The autumn garden party can begin.
Totslan and Fitslan show off their red ruby to all guests at the Autumn Festival. The gem shines so intensely that the magician gets his attention from the moon. He arrives and tries to buy the ruby. But the wights are unyielding. The spell is easily distracted and enjoys partying.
The fall garden party is in full swing. The magician grants everyone a wish. Moomin has his friend Mumrick send a tasty greeting, Mom wishes her Moomin no craving and Dad gets a book cover. Only the snork lady is dissatisfied with her new eyes.
The festival lasts until the morning hours. The magic gifts all guests generously. Totslan and Fitslan decide to give the magician the red ruby. The magician happily makes his way home. The other guests also say goodbye. The fall garden party is over.
Dad wants to go on a sea voyage. So the Moomin family sails to one of the uninhabited islands off the coast. On its research tour, the Hemul encounters Hatiflaken. The strange little creatures can become electrically charged. They scare the Hemul. Mumrick helps drive out the Hatiflaks.
An upcoming storm prevents the journey home. The Moomin family seeks shelter in a tent. At night the Hatiflaken come and get their barometer from the Hemul. In the commotion, the tent collapses and the Moomins spend an exciting night outdoors.
The sun is shining again the day after the storm. Schnüferl encourages a treasure hunt. He himself finds gold and a cork belt, Moomin finds a snow globe and the Snork Maiden comes across a wooden figure. Together they build a raft to take their treasures with them.
Little My brings the invisible girl Ninni to the Moomins. They should help to cure Ninni of her shyness. All behave in a good-natured, caring and loving manner. Ninni is slowly gaining confidence. When she is not scolded for a mishap, Ninni finally becomes visible.
Hemul wakes the Moomins from their hibernation. They should celebrate Christmas Eve. The ignorant Moomin family quickly learns what Christmas is all about. They decorate a tree, get presents and invite guests.
Winter in Moominvalley. Moomin wakes up from hibernation and finds it difficult to find his way in the changed winter world. He meets the boy Too-Ticky, who has set up shop in Papa's bathhouse with his invisible mice. Moomin and Too-Ticky become friends.
The little girl My enjoys the snow to the fullest. When she gets hungry, she cheekily gets everything she needs from the Moominhouse. Moomin wakes up and is very shocked about the theft. Then he gets to know My.
Too-Ticky, Moomin and My expect the freezing cold and carefully prepare for it. Too-Ticky knows that anyone who looks the terrible Lady of the Cold in the eyes will freeze to death. In the early morning she actually moves through the Moomin Valley.
The winter lasts. To lure out the sun, Too-Ticky and Moomin collect fuel and light a huge fire. The frozen Mora appears, frightens all the valley dwellers and tries to warm up by the fire. The next morning, Moomin is happy about the first rays of sunshine.
Through Too-Ticky, Moomin meets a troll. He can't believe that his ancestors should have looked like that. A look at the family album is also not very revealing. But the troll's behavior provides a clue.
The Hemul as a new winter guest impresses everyone with its sportiness. My competes with the experienced skier and does not cut a bad figure. Moomin has to try too, but he's less successful.
The little dog Sorry-oo comes to Moominvalley in search of his brothers, the wolves. Hemul tries to win his friendship, but Sorry-oo rejects him. He is looking for his brothers. When he finds the wolves, he is in great danger.
Winter is over. The winter guests leave Moominvalley. While skating, little My breaks into the thawing ice. Who can save her?
A disturbing letter from Fillyjonk dampens the Moomin family's spring cheer. Fillyjonk warns of a coming catastrophe. Mom rushes to her. Meanwhile, a violent storm destroys Fillyjonk's unloved house. Mom and Moomin invite Fillyjonk over.
While fishing, Moomin catches a little dragon in the net. Moomin wants to keep him as a pet. But the dragon doesn't like him. He likes Moomin's friend Snuffkin much better, but this soon becomes very annoying.
It's raining in Moomin Valley. Dad is in bed with a cold and reads his childhood memories to the family. As a little Moomintroll, he lived in the orphanage. Being lonely and unhappy, he snuck away one night. There he met the inventor Frederiksen.
Moominpapa reads the second chapter of his childhood memoirs. Inventor Fredriksen has built a large ship in the middle of the forest. When he wants to launch it, he asks his friend dragon Edward for help.
Dad reads on: From the ship, the three travelers watch as the evil Mora pursues the teacher from the orphanage on the shore. Moominpapa heroically comes to the rescue. The teacher soon leads a strict regiment on board. But then she is kidnapped by a horde of Kliptasaren.
Fredriksen seeks shelter in a bay from an approaching storm. A thick cloud settles on the ship. Because of a Kliptasar, the ship gets caught in the middle of the storm. It's getting dangerous. Suddenly the cloud rises and lifts the 'Symphony of the Seas' into the air.
Moominpapa and his friends go ashore and meet Mimbel. The girl invites everyone to the 100th birthday of the king of kings. At first, Moominpapa is disappointed by the king because he behaves quite unroyally. Nevertheless, Moominpapa wants to see the king up close and takes part in the lottery.
Fredriksen remains on the island as the royal court inventor. Moominpapa takes command of the ship and decides to start a colony. A ghost tries in vain to frighten everyone. Only through Fredriksen does he regain his self-confidence.
Moominpapa tells that Fredriksen took him and his friends on the maiden voyage of his flying underwater ship. Everyone liked flying. But the underwater world was too dangerous for them. Because a belligerent sea lion frightened them all.
After the underwater journey, a happy event awaits the friends on land: Rodschuret wants to get married. His bride is Schnüferl's mom. The unpopular Hemul is expected as one of the wedding guests. However, he is prevented and sends a valuable wedding present.
Dad reads the last chapter of his memoirs. Summer on the island is over. Autumn storms are brewing. Moominpapa helps Fredriksen winterize the house. Rodschuret and his young wife ask for admission. Because a storm destroyed their house.
On a hot summer night, the volcano on the nearby island erupts. The earth trembles and ash rains from the sky. The lava masses trigger a spring tide. Moomin Valley is flooded. The Moomins escape to the attic of their house.
The morning after the volcano erupts, the Moomin family throws a carefree picnic in the attic. But the rising water forces her to leave the Moomin House. A strange house floating by becomes their new home. An exciting journey into the unknown begins.
The Moomins drift away in their new house in the direction of Pine Valley. Curious, they explore all the rooms and discover the props room. My is enthusiastic about the many boxes, crates and costumes. Emma the old theater rat shows up. She thinks the Moomin family are philistines.
The floating theater with its various rooms offers a lot of interesting things for each of the new residents. Snorkdamsel feels more beautiful than ever in a magnificent costume and theater rat Emma talks about life on stage. Everyone decides to prepare a performance.
Dad is tired of floating around on the water. He ties the theater to a tree. Moomin and Snorkmaiden sleep in the branches. Emma unties the rope again at night. The theater drives away. The next morning, the Moomintroll children set off alone and finally reach dry land.
Snuffkin the Wanderer meets little My on his way to Moominvale. Together they play a trick on the Hemulen in Hemulpark and hide their prohibition signs. A horde of woodland children join My and Snuffkin. Together they want to reach Moomin Valley.
Moomin and the Snork Maiden arrive at Fillyjonk's house. Together they prepare the midsummer night festival. They collect wood for the fire, including the prohibition signs hidden by Snuffkin from Hemulpark. The park ranger wrongly suspects the three and locks them up.
Snuffkin, My and the woodland children find Fillyjonk's house abandoned. Snuffkin can barely contain the rampaging gang. An invitation to the theater performance "The Lion's Fiancé" makes everyone curious. After a thorough bath, they set out for the floating theater in the Föhrenbucht.
Moomin, Fillyjonk and the Snork Maiden are still innocent in prison. Because the park ranger wants to see the theatrical performance, he asks his soft-hearted cousin to guard the three. But soon Moomin has convinced the cousin of his innocence. The prisoners are released.
Everything goes wrong at the dress rehearsal. Theater rat Emma tries to calm down the actors. Meanwhile, the audience has gathered in their boats. My is also among the spectators. She creates chaos. As a result, Moomin, his family and all his friends finally find each other again.
The Moomin family says goodbye to their friends at the theater and returns to Moominvalley. The flood has subsided and everyone is happy that Moomin House is unharmed. With a clarifying word from the cousin, the park ranger ends the pursuit of Moomin.
Sniff pursues a small cat and discovers a huge cave. Meanwhile, Moomin is playing Pearl Fisher in the sea. Sniff persuades him to hide his found treasures in the cave. My has had enough of the theater and has traveled after the Moomins. She announces the philosopher Muskat to the family.
One morning the whole Moominvale is dusty. Moomin asks the philosopher Nutmeg. His explanation worries the whole family: Muskat speaks of the universe and a catastrophe that could destroy the earth. Papa wants to get more detailed information from the observatory in the mountains.
Sniff and Moomin set off on the raft. On the way, they meet Snuffkin. He explains what a comet is and calms Sniff down. Because he is afraid of the destruction of the earth. To distract him, Snuffkin shows him a crevice with lots of garnets. Sniff is getting more and more greedy and gets a lesson.
Snuffkin decides to accompany Sniff and Moomin to the observatory. The raft soon finds itself in dangerous rapids, overcomes a waterfall and drifts further in an underground cave passage. A grouchy Hemul saves the three friends from a deep abyss.
Moomin, Sniff and Snuffkin have reached the foot of the mountains. Sniff is afraid of an ear infection, eagles and falling. The three discover the Snork Maiden's bracelet and recover it in a dangerous operation. You climb the mountain top and stand in front of the observatory.
The friends have reached the observatory. Moomin is so impressed with the inside of the building that he forgets to ask the professors about the comet. Sniff learns that the comet is actually hurtling towards Earth and will touch the planet in four days. Moomin wants to go home immediately.
The descent is difficult. Snuffkin advises getting rid of the luggage. The friends have great fun throwing pots and pans down the ravines. Then they switch to stones. Due to his carelessness, Moomin falls. Can the friends save him?
At the foot of the mountains, the weary rope team meets an angry Hemul. The rock slide hit and injured him. The three apologize. On the way through the forest, Moomin rescues the snorkmaiden from the clutches of an evil old tree. She and her brother join the tour group.
In a general store in the middle of the forest, Moomin, Snuffkin, Sniff, the Snorkmaiden and Mr. Snork want to go shopping. Everyone picks something. Moomin gives the Snorkmaiden a mirror, and the Snorkmaiden finds a medal of bravery for Moomin.
The Snork Maiden persuades everyone to take part in the dance festival in the forest. Snuffkin finds the musicians to be apprentices, Moomin and the Snorkdamsel waltz and receive a lot of applause for their solo performance. Only late at night do the friends withdraw and set up camp.
The approaching comet has dried up the sea. The friends build stilts and walk across the seabed. Sniff discovers a treasure chest and is unhappy because he can't carry it. Moomin and the Snork Maiden go on a dangerous adventure in an old wreck.
The comet is threatening in the sky. Moomin wants to go home. There, he knows, nothing can happen to him. A hemul joins the group. The friends owe him a journey through the air that takes them straight to Moomin Valley.
The Moomins and their friends prepare for the comet impact and take their belongings to safety in Sniff's cave. They anxiously await the catastrophe. Hurricanes and floods scare everyone. But then it calms down again. The comet moves away from Earth.
Winter has come. The Moomins are hibernating. Moomin dreams that a wasp attacks him and rips off his tail tassel. Mom brews a magic potion for him based on Grandma's recipe. A beautiful golden tuft grows at the end of Moomin's tail.
Moomin dreams that his family has been invited to a cocktail party by the duchess. Finely dressed, they appear in the palace. But the Duchess finds the behavior of Moomin's family mediocre. Moomin finds that he doesn't need society to be happy.
Moomin dreams of Cedric the stuffed dog. Sniff loves Cedric for his precious gem eyes. Still, he leaves Cedric to Gaffsie and her daughter. They butcher the stuffed animal. Sniff realizes that Cedric is valuable to him in other ways and takes him to Mama to fix it.
Moomin dreams that Mr. Brisk is organizing a competition. My wins the ski race, but Mr. Brisk is a poor loser. Moomin convinces Edward the Dragon to take on Mr. Brisk in a snowball fight and lose on purpose.
Moomin dreams: Moominvale has become a jungle. For the sake of authenticity, Stinky releases the wild animals from the zoo. The Moomins escape to the bathhouse. When they help a pair of tigers in need, they make new friends.
Moomin still dreams of the jungle. He flees from crocodiles and water hammers to the open sea. There he is mistaken for a hippopotamus and pursued by hunters. But the tigers drive away the hunters.
Moomin dreams of the fair. He has fun with Sniff and little My until they run out of money. Sniff wants to market Moomin as a fortune teller, but a ghost refuses any competition. When Moomin suddenly becomes a balloon, the ruble rolls. But Moomin wakes up from his dream too soon.
Moomin dreams. With Sniff and Snuffkin he sails the seas. They find a box full of swear words and use them to prank Aunt Hemul. The angry aunt threatens to disinherit the Moomins. But mom and dad give in.
Moomin dreams. Just before hibernation, the Moomins receive a small Kliptasar in the mail. Mom should raise him. But Kliptasar don't hibernate. Mama tries to put him up with Fillyjonk. But she refuses.
Moomin dreams that he is hunting with his papa. The news that a dangerous vampire has escaped from the zoo drives her home. Mom finds the vampire in the pantry and realizes it's not all that scary.
Moomin dreams of vampires again. Mom confesses her secret and stops dad and the others from chasing the little vampire. Dad doesn't allow a vampire in the house. Because mom doesn't give in, she has to move into the attic with the vampire. But that makes mom really happy. She's finally in peace.
Moomin finishes dreaming the vampire story. Dad doesn't cut a good figure as a house husband. So he lets mom move back into the house from the attic. Gradually everyone gets used to the little vampire. Fillyjonk also loses her fear when mom explains that the little one is just a cute bat.
Moomin and Mama have woken up from hibernation. Mom tells her dream. Mom, Dad, Moomin, Sniff, My and the Snork Maiden have ended up on a lonely island. When food becomes scarce, everyone goes hungry.
Mom continues to tell her dream: A storm blew away the rose bush she had planted. Longing for her flowers, Mom paints the garden in front of the Moomin House on the walls of the lighthouse. But suddenly she disappears in the picture.
Mom finishes her story. Autumn storms sweep across the deserted island and the Moomins take refuge in the lighthouse. The island fights the storms. When the weather seems to improve, Mora goes around and heralds winter. Mom wakes up and is happy to be in the safety of Moominvalley.
While gardening, Papa Moomin tells his dream. Mom finds a UFO in the garden and brings dad a strange device. Papa, Moomin and the Snork Maiden play with the buttons and become invisible. They startle Hemul and Fillyjonk. Mama doesn't think that's funny and wants to change the three back.
