After the government has taken all the wizards away, Alex decides to reveal wizards to the world. The rest of the wizarding world doesn't exactly take well to it.
Alex continues her life as a mortal but it causes tension between her and Harper. Meanwhile, a magical robe of Jerry's is found torn into pieces
Alex and Mason try to be just friends but that's hard when Dean returns and Mason gets jealous. Meanwhile, Justin tries to motivate some wizards.
Alex joins Justin's wizard class to try to move up in the competition. Max joins a sophisticated wizard society. They suggest he move the wizard competition up and he moves it to a few days away. Max quits the society because he finds out that they are taking advantage of him. Alex and Justin transform into Max in an attempt to change the date of the family wizard competition back to it's original date and succeed. In the end of the episode they accidentally turn Max indefinitely into a little girl.
Max, now Maxine, has become the center of Jerry and Teresa's attention, leading Alex to become jealous. Justin takes Maxine to karate class. Harper tries to keep Zeke away from the Russos in order to avoid having to explain Max being replaced by Maxine.
When a new student named Rosie joins Justin's remedial wizard class, he falls madly in love with her and discovers she's an angel. Jerry, Teresa, and Harper try to boost sales at the sub shop, using Maxine to their advantage.
Justin, Alex, Rosie and Harper go to an angels club while Theresa and Jerry enter Maxine in a beauty pageant.
Alex discovers that Rosie isn't what she seems, and is tricking Justin into doing evil. With the help of angel-in-training Tina, she tries to defeat the plans of the dark angel Gorog. Harper forces Maxine to have a slumber party so that she can live vicariously through her.
Zeke seeks magic as a new hobby, and when Alex impulsively and secretly assists in one of his routines, he begins to suspect that he himself might be a wizard, and consoles Harper about this, forcing her to convince Alex to either expose the truth about wizardry to him, or she will.
Alex encourages retired wrestler Muy Macho, her childhood hero, to return to the ring. Meanwhile, Zeke makes plans to wrestle Macho by persuading Justin to use his magic to turn him into a contender.
Mason tries to hide the truth about his parents from Alex, and about Alex from his parents. Max makes his parents' food taste like kid food in order to make it taste good, but it has adverse effects.
When Mason ignores Alex's invitation to the Beast Bowl so he can work on an anniversary gift, Alex decides to go anyway and she meets a boy named Chase.
The Russos visit the beach and come across Zelzar, a fortune-telling machine that Jerry warns the kids will give wizards real fortunes. Alex receives a seemingly lethal fortune, causing the kids to bargain with Zelzar in order to change her fate.
Alex, Justin, and Max must get into a Captain Jim Bob Sherwood spaceship in order to destroy an asteroid coming toward the earth.
When Justin's students fail their exams, he instinctively accuses Alex, but Alex knows she's not to blame, causing her to discover the true culprit. Meanwhile, Teresa and Jerry find that they saved nothing of Max's childhood and seek help from Harper to recreate it.
Alex and Harper decide to move out and live on their own, but they need money first, so they they decide put on puppet show. But when Alex doesn't keep up her end of the bargain, she and Harper have a fight. Meanwhile, Max might lose his girlfriend when Talia's parents don't like his parents.
Harper must choose Zeke or Alex and she chooses Zeke. So, Alex makes a clone of Harper to spend time with. Meanwhile, Jerry, Justin and Max create another restaurant in the Wizard world.
Alex and Harper rent an apartment in a complex whose 13th floor is exclusively for Wizard World creatures, only to find that Mason also lives there.
Alex and Harper find an extra roommate, Lucy, to help with their living expenses. Lucy is heartbroken over the loss of her previous boyfriend over the Bermuda Triangle, so they try to cheer her up by finding her a new boyfriend. Zeke's mail-order robot finally arrives, only for him to suspect it's evil.
Mr. Laritate, who lives on a different floor in Alex and Harper's apartment complex, discovers the 13th floor after Mason breaks the elevator, and ends up bitten by a zombie. Meanwhile, Felix's wand is stolen.
After Dexter reveals himself as Gorog, the angel of darkness, he turns Felix evil in order to use his powerful wand to take over the Wizard World. Alex, Justin and Max learn from Professor Crumbs that they must use their wizard powers together to defeat Gorog and the dark side.
The family goes back in time to try and save their lair.
Harper gets zapped into a Cinderella Book.
During a dinner that Alex made for the family, Headmaster Crumbs visits to reveal that with this selfless act, the Russo children can finally have their family wizard competition.
