The character-driven, comedic docu-soap spotlights the playful - and at times cut-throat - rivalry between two local news stations and the dynamic newscasters who are determined to take their jobs seriously, even when some of the news they cover is less than serious.

It's a morning news showdown when Callie confronts Lucy for stealing one of her guests.
In tonight's episode, school is in session at WABG and WXVT, as Steve shows Eric how to sex up the weather, and Pam gives Lucy and Chris a lesson in on-air chemistry. Eric hears back about his potential job offer, and David defies Pam.
Lakiya and Pam warm up their vocal chords to audition for David's new musical, "Number Please." Meanwhile, with his career dreams stuck in a holding pattern, Eric looks for sunny skies in the love department.
Live TV is even more unpredictable when Lucy’s mom, an old TV pro, makes a guest appearance on Good Morning Mississippi and joins her daughter in a snake filled swamp. Meanwhile, Steve and Eric try their luck at speed dating, and Callie gets down and dirty with Vernon.
Eric ditches Steve to pursue his tornado dream story, while Lucy attempts another risky live remote broadcast.
