Nanase Sakura is a 23-year-old rookie nurse. She met Doctor Kairi Tendo several years ago and fell in love with him. To meet him again, she studied hard and became a nurse. After 5 years, she finally meets Kairi Tendo again, but he has a totally different personality than what she imagined. Kairi Tendo, who is 31-years-old, is commonly referred to as the "Devil" at work. He is a level-headed perfectionist and often makes biting remarks to doctors and nurses. Nanase Sakura works hard to receive recognition from Kairi Tendo and she also expresses her feelings honestly to him. Due to her persistence, Nanase Sakura becomes well known at the hospital and she picks up the nickname of the "Warrior." Meanwhile, Kairi Tendo becomes attracted to Nanase Sakura.

High school student Nanase Sakura stops to help a woman, and meets a young doctor named Kairi Tendo. She decides to become a nurse. Her first day on the job she confesses her love for Dr. Tendo, but he rejects her.
Nanase finds out that the woman in Dr. Tendo's apartment is his sister, Ryuko Tendo. She helps a young heart patient, but after he dies, she collapses. She wakes up with Dr. Tendo by her side, and he reassures her.
Dr. Tendo returns to Nanase's only to find Dr. Kisugi. Dr. Kisugi leaves urging Nanase to make her move. Nanase perhaps hallucinates Dr. Tendo hugging her. She lets this slip at work. Nanase is told that Dr. Tendo had a lover who died young.
One of the patients refuses an operation because she wants to go to her daughter's wedding. Nanase convinces the hospital to let her go, and Dr. Tendo agrees to take the two of them to the wedding.
Dr. Tendo confirms his intention to date Nanase. He asks her to keep it a secret. Head Nurse Negishi asks Dr. Tendo not to let Nanase work an operation on her son. They fight, and make up, then he tells everyone that she is his girlfriend.
Dr. Miori Wakabayashi, the sister of Dr. Tendo's late girlfriend, Minori Wakabayashi, appears at the hospital looking for a job. Worried, Nanase follows him to Osaka, where they spend the night in a hotel. Back in Tokyo, the sister confesses her love to Dr. Tendo, and Dr. Kisugi to Nanase.
Nanase meets a young man, Masashi Kamijo, who treats her kindly. He shows up in the hospital as her patient. Masashi tries to steal Nanase away from Dr. Tendo but collapses just before his operation.
Masashi files a complaint against Dr. Tendo, preventing him from working, and then tries to blackmail Nanase into coming with him to Singapore. What will Nanase do?
Dr. Tendo shows up in Nanase's hometown, and meets her parents, then brings her back to Tokyo.
Nanase goes with Ryuko and meets her parents. Then she is offered a chance to study abroad. Can she and Dr. Tendo live apart for a year? What will they do when she comes back?
