Las Pelotaris 1926 tells the story of Chelo, Idoia and Itzi, three female pelota players who struggle to achieve their dreams in the 1920s, but these successful sportswomen will have to face the consequences of breaking the mold in a world where ambition and sexual freedom were denied to women.

Mexican pelota player Chelo finds out she is expecting. Itzi gets married and moves to Spain with her husband to win back her former love, Ane. Spain's Idoia is offered the chance to become the star of the Mexican pelota championship.
Chelo's body lies on the floor of the Pelota stadium, where he had just won the Mexican championship. Meanwhile, Itzi arrives in Spain to retrieve Ané. Idoia pushes ahead with the idea of building his own pelota stadium in Mexico.
Idoia is running out of money due to her debts, while Itzi's father offers his daughter a contract with his pelota team. Chelo is put in a wheelchair after being beaten by her husband.
Idoia and Itzi are trying to resolve their differences with the aim of having their own pelota stadium, for which they need Ane's husband. Rosa - Chelo's teammate - helps Chelo to heal.
The new female pelota team is becoming a reality, but not everyone in Donosti is willing to make things easy for Idoia and Itzi. In Mexico, Chelo decides to start from scratch and packs her bags to move to Spain.
Idoia is determined to get her son back after learning that his adoptive parents want to move to Barcelona. Itzi is devastated after being forced to break up with Ane. Chelo, who stays in Mexico, regains his fitness.
