1993South Beach was an American action/adventure series that aired on NBC during the summer of 1993. The series was created by Dick Wolf and Robert DeLaurentis and starred Yancy Butler, who had been the lead actress a year earlier in another failed Wolf/DeLaurentis series, Mann & Machine. Set in South Beach, Florida, the Modesty Blaise-inspired storyline had Butler playing Kate Patrick, a thief who, along with her partner Vernon, is given the choice of going to jail or working for a government agency run by a man named Roberts. The series saw Kate and Vernon take on various missions for Roberts, which usually called on the duo to make use of their skills as thieves. The series also co-starred Patti D'Arbanville. The first episode guest-starred the British actor, Christopher Bowen as Dimitriev. Seven episodes were produced of this series, but only six were aired.

The owner of a Miami salvage company steals a fortune in Russian diamonds and then disappears. His beautiful con artist sister is coerced into becoming an undercover government operative in order to recover the diamonds and rescue her brother.
When the second yacht in a week is hijacked off the Florida coast, Roberts sends Kate equipped with a sixty-foot Italian Baia yacht, to turn the tables on the trio of thieves.
Kate makes a bet with her stakeout partner as to who will be the first to crack a case involving a senator suspected of being on the take.
A stolen Cellini chalice is the elusive treasure for which Roberts sends Kate, who must pose as a diver, renew an old friendship and out-think a devious pair of thieves.
Missing: $3 million in gold bullion... and the man who may have stolen it. Meanwhile, Kate is asked to ""baby-sit"" his girlfriend.
Kate goes undercover, managing a Haitian bistro, to investigate liquor smuggling and to find and protect the boy who witnessed the former manager's execution.
When Roberts sends Kate after a counterfeiter who has flooded Florida with fake money, she comes in contact with Spencer Robinson, her first love and fellow con artist.
