2009 / NREk Veer Stree Ki Kahaani... Jhansi Ki Rani is an Indian historical drama based on the life of Lakshmi Bai, the Rani of Jhansi, one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The series was directed by Jitendra Srivastava and written by Rajesh Saksham, Ila Dutta Bedi, Malavika Asthana and Mairaj Zaidi. It premiered on 18 August 2009 on Zee TV with Ulka Gupta playing Queen Lakshmi Bai. On 8 June 2010 the story moved on several years and Kratika Sengar portrayed the Queen from there on. The show's last episode went to air on 19 June 2011.

Manu decides to forgive Menson only if he will declare Bithur tax free, so he is compelled to agree. Everyone in Bithur laud Manubai as the Queen of Jhansi. Tatya Tope tells Manu that now she does not need to wear a disguise of Kranti Guru. Gangadhar Rao sends two maids to take care of Manu.
Laxmibai decides that she may never return to Jhansi, yet she must protect her subjects, so she decides to present herself in Gangadhars court. Gangadhar asks Moropant to read the charges levied against Kranti Guru. Meanwhile, when Marshall learns that Kranti Guru has appeared in Gangadhars court, Marshall stabs Samar Singh!
Larai Sarkar agrees to participate in the annual flag-hoisting sport. She fails to break Ghaus Khan's spirit. Laxmi Bai urges Tatya Tope to stay back in Jhansi.
Captain Bheem informs Nelson that he is not Karma. Laxmi Bai combats British troops at Jhansi's border. She loses to Bheem and is chained and sees Bheem getting Jhansi's treasury.
Rose holds Raghunath hostage and tries to escape. Queen Victoria announces her direct rule over India. Laxmi Bai plans to expose Queen Victoria's dubious ways.
