Ascânio arrives in Santana do Agreste. Amintas, Osnar and Timóteo tell him what happened to Tieta: how she initiated in love, the spanking she took from her father and how she left.

Ascânio decides to stay in Santana do Agreste and takes Helena with him. A year goes by. Timóteo uses Tieta's check to pay off his debt at the bank, but Perpétua finds out.

Ascânio proposes to Artur and Modesto to help him with the tourist complex. Perpétua and Tonha fight over Timóteo's debt. Letícia and Carol arrive in Santana.

The priest wants Perpétua to forgive Timóteo. Helena wishes to return to Rio with Ascânio. Elisa asks Osnar to help Timóteo. Colonel Arthur buys another girl for his collection.

Terto doesn't let Carol buy anything at his store. Helena has a crying spell over dinner and confesses to Ascânio that she is pregnant.

Helena leaves and Ascânio is devastated. Imaculada refuses to eat and is grounded. Carol runs into Modesto's wife and daughter in the square. Ascânio decides to go after his wife.

Perpétua wants Timóteo to sign a promissory note. He flees into the woods and sees the Woman in White. Pirica gives Carol a fish. Osnar pays Timóteo's debt.

Osnar gives Timóteo the money for his next month's debt. Ascânio finds out where Helena is. Carol and Osnar meet on the beach. Perpétua receives a telegram from her son Ricardo.

Ascânio asks Helena for a divorce. Osnar takes food to Carol. Filó leaves the door open and Imaculada runs away. Ricardo, Cosme and Ascânio arrive at Esplanada.

The priest forces Perpétua to authorize Terto to sell to Carol. Peto steals Ricardo's cassock. Imaculada is distracted looking at Ricardo naked and Trapizomba catches her.

The girls from the brothel try to grab Ricardo. Cinira gossips about Carmosina and Osnar for Perpétua. The hydroelectric plant warns that it will not send light to Santana do Agreste. Laura is attacked.

Laura believes that she was attacked by a being from another planet. Elisa dreams of Tarcísio Meira. Dário and Laura tell what she saw to everyone in the city. The extraterrestrial observes Bafo de Bode.

Osnar visits Carol and they kiss. Elisa tries to seduce her husband, but he complains about his stomach. Aída tells Modesto that Perpétua wanted to tell him something about Carol. Elisa disappears.

Perpétua calls everyone to look for Elisa. Modesto waits for Perpétua and discovers the box she keeps in the closet. Tonha meets Elisa. Tieta's check is not enough.

Perpétua accuses Timóteo of having embezzled Tieta's check to pay the bank's promissory note. Everyone sends letters to Tieta asking for news. Perpétua says that the sister died and can prove it.

Perpétua shows everyone proof of her sister's death. The priest agrees to say a mass for Tieta. The colonel marks the first class for Immaculada.

Tonha tells Zé Esteves that Tieta is going to discover all the lies they told. Imaculada gets sick. Ascânio is charmed by Leonora. Tieta tells Carmosina that she came back to take revenge.

Leonora and Ascânio talk for the first time. Filó thinks Immaculada is going to die. Timóteo and Elisa lie to Tieta about their son. Ricardo supports Tieta, preventing her from falling.

Laura sees Osnar leaving Carol's house. Tieta tells the colonel that he wants to buy Imaculada. Carmosina tells Tieta all the lies of Zé Esteves, Perpétua and Elisa.

Tieta faces her father. Carol meets Modesto's family. Perpétua asks Ricardo to do whatever his aunt wants. Tieta, Leonora, Ricardo, Peto and Cosme go for a walk in the Mangue Seco.

Tieta slaps Leonora because of the letter the girl received. Zuleika tells the priest that he wants to help with the feast. Tieta announces that he is going to buy the vacant land in Mangue Seco.

Tieta argues with Osnar over the Mangue Seco. Carol asks Osnar to find out who wrote to Aída. The colonel tells Modesto that he will buy the land before Tieta.

The priest accepts Zuleika's contribution. Aída tries to read the letter she received, but Modesto pretends to have an attack. Leonora asks Tieta to help Ascânio in the matter of light.

Aída is in shock after reading the letter. Ascânio has dinner with Leonora. Ricardo confesses to the priest that he is in doubt about his vocation and tells Tieta that he will leave the seminary.

Tieta offers his support to Ricardo. Leticia visits Carol. Aida receives another letter. Ascânio signs the divorce papers. Tonha wears the clothes that Tieta gave her and Zé Esteves is angry.

Zé Esteves rips Tonha's clothes. Ascânio beats the driver who harasses Leonora and tells her that her skirt is indecent. Carmosina gets drunk, rips Osnar's shirt and calls him immoral.

Carmosina says she is ashamed. Leonora ends her friendship with Ascânio. Osnar tells Carol that he feels like a scoundrel. Jairo looks for Carmosina, who has not returned home. Marcolino is attacked.

Marcolino is found lying on the ground, bewildered and says he was attacked by the Woman in White. Tieta gives Ricardo a package. Osnar is going to talk to Carmosina.

Tieta tells Carmosina to declare himself to Osnar. The colonel invites Tieta to dinner and she demands the girls' presence. Tieta asks Ricardo to put a cream on his back.

Tieta confesses to Leonora what she feels for her nephew. Ricardo tells Perpétua that he is going back to the seminar. Pirica tells Dário and Laura that the fishermen saw a flying saucer.

Elisa reveals to Timóteo that she wants to go to São Paulo with Tieta. Bafo de Bode sees a strange being on the beach. Tieta, Leonora and Ricardo go to dinner at the colonel's house.

The colonel fights with Immaculada and Tieta helps her. Osnar kisses Carol, but she tells him that they can only be friends. Dário and Laura find a man sleeping in their bed.

Dário discovers that Bafo de Bode was fleeing from the Martians. Tieta tells Leonora that she is afraid of hurting Ricardo. Zé Esteves asks Tieta to buy goats for him.

Tieta refuses to buy the goats and Zé Esteves is sick. Marcolino tells everyone that he saw marks in the sand that cannot be human. Ricardo tells Tieta that she did wrong with her father.

Tieta fights with Ricardo. Modesto ties Carol to the foot of the table. Two men arrive in the city looking for Tieta to fulfill his request to supply electricity.

Dário discusses with Ascânio about the arrival of light. Elisa accuses Timóteo of not wanting her happiness. Perpétua realizes that Tieta is upset because of Ricardo. Ascânio seeks Leonora.

Ascânio and Leonora argue. Dário tells Laura that he will not be able to continue his search if the light arrives. Ricardo and Tieta do not speak. Tieta calls Tonha and Zé Esteves to talk.

Tieta says she is going to buy a house for her father and Tonha. Osnar breaks into Carol's door and sees her tied up. The colonel calls Imaculada for the first lesson. Tieta asks Ricardo to forgive her.

Ascânio finds it strange that Helena did not send confirmation of the divorce hearing. Perpetual catches Amorzinho talking to Amintas. Tieta calls Ascânio for dinner at Dário's house.

At Dário's house, Tieta pretends to be sick and tells Ascânio and Leonora to walk alone. They are reconciled, but the tide is rising and they cannot leave the island where they are.

Leonora and Ascânio realize that Tieta set everything up. Elisa calls Helena to sleep at her house. Tieta and Ricardo see the moonlight together. Helena will find Ascânio at the anchorage.

Helena tells Ascânio that she regretted it and he takes her home. Tieta tells Leonora where Helena is. Elisa takes Leonora to talk to Helena.

Helena threatens Leonora and orders her to give up on Ascânio. Cosme asks Ricardo to leave, but he refuses. Ascânio looks for Leonora and says he wants to continue with the friendship.

Tieta approves the blueprint for his new home. Elisa tells Timóteo that if they don't make love, she'll do it with someone else. Laura sees in the book of Dário the being that was on the beach.

Dário says that Laura saw a diver's outfit. Tieta talks to Leonora about Ricardo and decides to leave. Tieta communicates his decision to his nephew, but he goes after her.

Tieta warns that she will say goodbye to Mangue Seco before leaving. Ricardo tells Cosme that he can't stop thinking about his aunt. Perpétua asks Ricardo to convince Tieta to stay.

Helena demands that Leonora move away from her husband. The colonel asks Ascânio to find Arthur. Ricardo tells Tieta that he will stay with her until she leaves.

Perpétua and Cosme argue because of Ricardo. Timóteo hears Elisa say that she wanted to be like Helena and threatens to beat her. Ricardo runs after Tieta in the dunes.

Jairo tells Ascânio that the posts are being installed. The colonel talks about Arturzinho without feeling ill. Cosme gets sick. Ricardo asks Tieta if she is still leaving.

Helena begs Ascânio to come back to her. Ricardo asks Tieta to marry him. Jairo warns that they are paving the road. Ascânio almost kisses Helena, but Carmosina interrupts.

Helena and Carmosina fight. Modesto disguises himself to go to the cabaret. Zé Esteves feels dizzy. Silvana's car breaks down on the road. Tieta tells Ricardo that he gave up leaving.

Elisa smells a woman's perfume in Timóteo. Zuleika, dressed as the Woman in White, frightens Modesto. He summons some men and leaves with a gun in search of the apparition.

Ascânio and Helena sleep together. Elisa sees a lipstick mark on Timóteo's chest. Tonha remembers Arturzinho. Silvana looks for Dário. Carol tells Modesto that she wants Junior with her.

Ascânio tells his friends that he reconciled with Helena. Leonora finds out and cries. Tonha tells Timóteo that she believes in him. Carmosina talks about Helena's letter to Leonora.

Leonora refuses to read the letter. The colonel calls Immaculada for the lesson, but Filó says the girl is busy telling a story. Tieta advises Carmosina to unmask Helena.

Carmosina hands the letter to Ascânio. Helena fights with Rafa. Osnar, Timóteo and Chalita think that Dário is hiding something. Elisa asks Tieta to take her from Santana.

The priest tells Ricardo that he needs to hear his confession. Rafa leaves. Silvana wants to learn to dive with Dário. Ascânio reads the letter and is perplexed.

Helena tries to argue, but Ascânio sends her away. Helena can't find a place to spend the night. Tieta feels sorry and asks Carmosina to accept Helena in the pension.

Elisa makes peace with Timóteo. Helena tells Ascânio that Carmosina may have written the letter. The priest wants Tieta to convince Ricardo to confess. Leonora seeks Ascânio.

Leonora offers her friendship to Ascânio. Cinira sees Amintas leaving Amorzinho's house. Silvana wants to help Dário. Ricardo confesses to the priest that he sinned against chastity.

Tieta warns that she will give Tonha only a few shares and Timóteo some money and a trip to São Paulo. Zé Esteves is angry and sick. Rosalvo and Bebê arrive in Santana.

Bebê shows interest in Osnar. Elisa meets Rosalvo and gets excited. Dário remembers that he saw Bebê among the divers. Tieta wants to find out what outsiders want.

Bebê is delighted with Osnar's serenade. Leonora and Ascânio kiss. Bebê and Osnar date under a ravine on the beach and Carol accidentally falls on top of them.

Carol is disillusioned with Osnar and Bebê is irritated by the situation. The Woman in White attacks Rosalvo. Osnar and Carol spend the night together. Aída tells Modesto that Osnar is Carol's boyfriend.

Carol tells Osnar that what happened cannot be repeated. Modesto suspects both of them and leaves Carol tied to the table again. Ascânio declares himself to Leonora.

Dário and Laura tell Modesto that they know that Carol is his lover. Elisa pretends to look for Carmosina to find Rosalvo. Timóteo goes to get it and they fight. Tieta seeks Elisa.

Tieta fights with Elisa. Timóteo travels to São Paulo. The people prepare the feast for the arrival of light. A man arrives in Santana in a truck called Ark of Dreams.

Carmosina takes Gladstone to the boardinghouse. In front of Milu, Tieta pretends she doesn't know him, but then asks if everything is right with what she asked for. Imaculada is startled to see Ricardo.

Tieta reveals the plaque in her honor and Perpétua is angry because he does not have the surname Esteves. Imaculada gives up on storytelling. Gladstone opens the truck.

Gladstone tells Carmosina that he wants to make his dreams come true. Sabino and Peto exchange gifts from Timóteo. Ricardo finds Cosme in his room after spending the night with Tieta.

Zé Esteves starts to hallucinate. Silvana goes shopping and Amintas accompanies her. Amorzinho sees and gets jealous. Cosme goes to Tieta's room to check if Ricardo is there.

Perpétua sees no problem with Ricardo being in Tieta's room and fights with Cosme. Araci finds Perpétua's white box. Tonha realizes that there is something strange with Zé Esteves.

The colonel insists that Imaculada tell more stories. She gets angry and breaks several objects. Tieta advises Imaculada. Gladstone gives Milu a television.

Imaculada advises the colonel's girls to revolt. Zé Esteves has another fit of madness and attacks Perpétua. Gladstone warns that he will distribute gifts bought by Tieta.

Tieta tells Carmosina that she gave the gifts just to cause discord. Perpétua wants to know if Tieta forgot about Peto and Ricardo.

Tieta and Perpétua fight. The colonel wants to send Imaculada away. Modesto forbids Carol to befriend Silvana and Laura. Perpétua sees Gladstone kissing Tieta's hand.

Tieta tells Leonora to fight with Ascânio. Perpétua tells Ricardo that she thinks Tieta already knew Gladstone. Filó decides to help Immaculada to escape. Ricardo talks to Tieta about Gladstone.

Ricardo and Tieta fight over Gladstone. Milu wants to send his recipe to a contest. Timóteo tells Perpétua that Chalita will ask him for Amorzinho's hand.

Laura finds Modesto in Carol's closet. Amintas tells Amorzinho of the request. Amorzinho and the priest argue with Perpétua. Ricardo and Tieta fight over Osnar.

Chalita argues with Amintas. Amintas implies that he would not marry Amorzinho. Tieta buys a TV for Elisa. Imaculada runs away.

Ricardo threatens to beat Osnar. Leonora tells Tieta that she won't tell Ascânio the truth. Zé Esteves looks for Tieta, but the colonel arrives at the same time asking for Immaculada.

The colonel tries to look for Immaculata in Gladstone's truck and Carmosina stops him. Tieta says he will do what Zé Esteves wants if he reveals where the money is.

Zé Esteves shows Tieta the money on the mattress. Peto takes Leticia to the church under construction. They kiss and discover Imaculada hidden.

Children seek supplies for Imaculada. Trapizomba kidnaps Gladstone. The colonel says that Gladstone will only leave when he tells where Imaculada is.

Carmosina looks for Gladstone. Peto and Letícia say that Immaculada left. Gladstone is released and leaves promising to return. Perpétua begins the meeting without Tieta and is appointed head of the family.

Perpétua and Tieta fight. Amintas visits Amorzinho. Filó finds out where Imaculada is and goes to see her. Perpétua and Tieta want to know which side Ricardo would be on and fight for his father's staff.

Tieta does not hand over the staff and Perpétua expels her sister. Modesto makes Carol stay in the rain. Rosalvo and Bebê return. Tieta tells Perpétua that Ricardo is now his.

Perpétua insists that Tieta stay. Timóteo meets Elisa with Rosalvo. Aida discovers that Carol is ill and will help. Marcolino tells Modesto who owns Mangue Seco.

Modesto and Marcolino tell the colonel whose beach it is. Rosalvo says that his firm also wants to know. Aida discovers that Carol is a mother. The colonel says that he goes to the church to look for Immaculada.

Tieta sends Ricardo away, but reveals to Carmosina her love for him. Aída asks Osnar to spend the night with Carol. Leonora induces Ascânio to want to ask for your hand. The colonel arrives at the church.

The colonel finds the things that Immaculada left. Peto takes Immaculada hidden to the circus. Gladstone comes back and brings Jairo, who says that the marinete was apprehended.

Tieta tells Leonora that Ascânio will suffer. Perpétua sees Gladstone going to Tieta's house and sends Ricardo over there. Silvana saves Dário at sea and kisses him. Modesto sees Aída with Carol.

Tieta and Ricardo fight and she confesses that she already knew Gladstone. Perpétua tells Tonha that she will never be a woman again. Tourists arrive in Santana. Ricardo cries for Tieta.

Carmosina gives Tieta advice about Ricardo. After drinking, Jairo drives the tourist bus and Cinira gets in front of the vehicle. Timóteo receives a letter saying that he will be betrayed.

Gladstone tells Ricardo that he has nothing to do with Tieta. Ricardo asks Tieta to marry him. Osnar sleeps with Bebê. Timóteo sees Elisa with Rosalvo. The priest and Cosme find Tonha unconscious.

Tieta asks Carmosina to tell Ascânio that Leonora is not a virgin. The family goes to see Tonha, who is ill, and Tieta advises her friend to take care of herself. Ricardo fights with his mother over Tieta.

Amorzinho says yes to Chalita in front of Amintas. Leôncio takes a folder with papers on the factory. Carmosina calls Ascânio to talk about Leonora. Tonha asks Tieta for help.

Tieta wants to send Tonha to São Paulo. Ascânio treats Leonora coldly. Leôncio reveals to Dário that the industry is going to settle in Mangue Seco. Perpetual tells Tonha to move in with her.

Tonha refuses to go with Perpétua, who accuses her of wanting to be quiet. Tonha checks with two slaps. Ascânio asks Leonora why she lied. Tonha tells Tieta that she's going to São Paulo.

Ascânio and Leonora fight. Leonora argues with Tieta and threatens to reveal what she knows. Timóteo receives another letter saying that Elisa betrays him and asks Tieta not to bring Nineteen.

Carol tells Modesto that there is no way to stop Aída from seeing her. Ascânio decides to stay with Leonora. Mirko makes an appointment with Ascânio in Rio. Imaculada appears to Cosme and the priest.

Imaculada accepts to leave the city. Carmosina and Gladstone almost kiss. Juracy leaves a letter at the colonel's house telling him where Imaculada is. Tieta asks Gladstone to steal something.

The colonel finds Imaculada. Ricardo tries to help, but she leaves with the colonel. Tieta takes out life insurance. Immaculata says she will kill herself if she stays with the colonel.

The colonel delivers Imaculada to the Red Light house. Mirko makes the appointment with Ascânio. Tieta tells Leonora that Helena will try to win Ascânio back. He and Leonora spend the night together.

Amintas feels used by Silvana and is furious. Ricardo fights with his mother over Tieta. Gladstone and Osnar play video games competing for a kiss from Carmosina.

Carmosina doesn't kiss Osnar. Tieta asks Tonha what she would do if Arthur returned. Silvana kisses Dário. Cinira finds Amorzinho dressed only in a blouse and panties.

Gladstone almost kisses Carmosina and she slaps him. She apologizes and he gives her a kiss. Gladstone tells Tieta the name of the firm. Elisa tries to open an anonymous letter to Timóteo.

Ascânio travels to Rio. Dário confronts Rosalvo. Carmosina allows Gladstone to hold his hand. Tieta receives Ninete in the square. Osnar and Amintas believe there is something wrong with her.

Tieta introduces Ninete to everyone. The priest goes to the colonel's house to see Immaculada. Carol travels with Aída and Letícia. Ascânio goes to Helena's apartment.

Helena tells Ascânio that the divorce process is slow. Dário asks Gladstone for diving equipment. Ninete goes to Chalita e Amintas's bar to flirt.

Everyone is shocked by Nineteen's revelation. Ricardo fights with Tieta. Leôncio takes Filó home and the colonel sees it. Perpétua says he wants to set the city against Tieta and Ricardo listens to it.

Ricardo and Perpétua fight. Imaculada faces the colonel. Perpétua calls a meeting to expel Ninete. Perpétua comes home and finds Tieta with her white box open.

Tieta threatens Perpetual. Ninete and Tonha travel. Perpétua asks Cinira to leave her tape recorder in Tieta's window. Elisa dreams of Rosalvo and raises sleepwalker.

Ricardo spends the night with Tieta. Timóteo wakes up and looks for Elisa. Ascânio finds that the product is toxic. Perpétua and Cinira listen to the tape. Rosalvo wakes up Elisa and the two fall into the fountain.

Timóteo attacks Rosalvo and Amintas separates them. Ascânio demands to find Mirko. Dário beats Silvana, Laura sees and he tells everything. Perpétua steals the key to Tieta's house. Timóteo expels Elisa.

Elisa tries to talk to Timóteo, but he doesn't believe in the woman and she goes to Perpétua's house. Tieta searches for her, but Elisa says she no longer needs her. Leonora visits Elisa.

The Woman in White attacks Modesto. Tieta and Leonora go to Esplanada. Mirko does not show up for lunch and sends Rosalvo and Bebê. Helena joins them.

In exchange for your help, Helena demands to negotiate with Mirko personally. Silvana apologizes to Laura. The colonel and his henchmen take Imaculada by force.

Carmosina tells Elisa that Leonora tried to promote her reconciliation with Timóteo. Ricardo faces the colonel with a sword, runs away with Immaculada on horseback and takes her to Tieta's house.

Imaculada sees Tieta and Ricardo kissing. Amorzinho has another attack and grabs Timóteo. Tieta asks Milu for help. Elisa and Leonora become friends. The marinete is chased by a helicopter.

Rosalvo gets out of the helicopter and says that Mirko wants to see Ascânio. Milu tells the colonel that his wife killed herself and threatens to reveal the reason.

Arturzinho tells how he became Mirko. Marcolino and Modesto convince the colonel to resume the city hall. Ascânio accepts the factory and Mirko asks him not to reveal his identity.

Helena tells Mirko that Ascânio will be on his side. Perpétua despairs because everyone likes Tieta. Ascânio tells everyone about the factory. Perpétua wants to expel Tieta from the city.

Ascânio proposes a referendum for the city to decide on the factory. The colonel resumes the city hall. Osnar advises Tieta on Perpetua. Modesto faints when he sees Carol with her son.

Tieta reassures Osnar. Dário lets the boys help in the search, but asks for secrecy. Bebê calls Timóteo to talk in his room. Tieta is jealous of Ricardo.

Timóteo takes Bebê to bed. Mirko does not like to know that Ascânio is no longer the mayor. Perpétua enters Tieta's house and discovers Ricardo in his sister's bed.

Perpetual screams that she is blind. Cinira sees Timóteo leaving Bebê's room and tells Amorzinho. Helena tells Mirko that Tieta is a very influential person in Santana.

Perpétua asks Tieta for her father's staff. Amorzinho and Cinira tell Perpétua about Timóteo and Bebé. Rosalvo tells Mirko that Tieta uses a false name and he orders her to investigate.

Perpétua tells Elisa about Timóteo. Everyone agrees with Ascânio on the referendum. Elisa fights with Bebê. Osnar suspects Perpétua and warns Tieta. Elisa invites Rosalvo to dinner.

Bebê tells Timóteo that Elisa and Rosalvo are together. Elisa doesn't let Rosalvo kiss him. Timóteo goes there, but does not find Rosalvo. Tieta wants to investigate Mirko.

After receiving an anonymous letter, Elisa starts to demand half of Timóteo's billing. Rosalvo tells the colonel that Mirko only talks to Ascânio. Perpetual seeks Tieta.

Perpétua demands that Tieta marry Ricardo. Tieta gives money to her sister. Perpétua wants Tieta to adopt her children, but she refuses. Imaculada console Ricardo and Osnar console Tieta.

Ricardo says that he will return to the seminary if his mother does not tell what she saw to anyone else. Tieta shows Perpétua a copy of his will, in which he leaves everything to Peto and Ricardo.

Rosalvo tells the colonel that the factory will be installed elsewhere. Perpétua sends Ricardo back to the seminary. The colonel tells Ascânio that he will let him run the negotiations.

Tieta tells Leonora that she will get revenge on Perpétua. Mirko orders Rosalvo to organize Santana's party. Tieta is suspicious of the factory and asks Leonora if she knows something she does not know.

Dário tells Laura that he is going to ask for Tieta's help in the campaign against the factory. Marcolino, Modesto and the colonel decide that Bafo de Bode will be the owner of Mangue Seco.

Modesto goes to Carol's house. Edmundo overhears his parents talking about Carol and Modesto. Osnar and Tieta play in the sea and Carol sees. Edmundo tells Letícia that Modesto knows Carol.

Osnar goes to Carol's house and argues with Tieta. Modesto does not convince Leticia. Leonora warns that Tonha will be back. Leticia looks for Carol. Tieta and Osnar fight and end up kissing.

Tieta tells Osnar to leave. Letícia reveals to her mother what she discovered. Aída asks Modesto to tell his daughter the truth. Rosalvo kisses Elisa.

Filó tells the colonel that he is thinking of marrying Leôncio. Osnar, Chalita, Amintas and Cinira witness an attack by Amorzinho. Filó is sick. Ascânio invites Leonora to live with him.

Letícia tells her father that she no longer wants to see him. Marcolino is chosen to host Bafo de Bode. Tieta comes home. Leonora moves. Carol looks for Modesto.

Carol advises Modesto to leave the house. Juracy finds Bafo de Bode in his office. Jairo asks Cinira to marry him and she passes out. Modesto tells Aída that she is leaving the house.

Tieta instructs Elisa to treat Timóteo with indifference. Marcolino explains to Bafo de Bode that his name is Possidônio and that he owns Mangue Seco. Modesto goes to Carol's house.

Osnar tells Tieta that he no longer wants to fight. Modesto says goodbye to Carol. Cinira accepts Jairo's request. Tieta speaks of Osnar to Carmosina.

Perpétua and Carmosina fight. Pastor Hilário arrives in the city and Amorzinho asks him to save her. Tonha sees an ultralight falling on the dunes and recognizes Arturzinho as the pilot.

The pastor tries to convert Perpétua. Tonha takes Arturzinho to his father's house. Hilário's men arrest Bafo de Bode. Arturzinho wants to leave before seeing his father, but the colonel arrives.

The colonel orders Arthur to be arrested. Ascânio reveals to Bebo and Rosalvo the identity of Mirko. Bafo de Bode reappears as a shepherd. Perpetual insults Tonha. Arturzinho is sick and passes out.

Mirko asks Ascânio to call his doctor and he lies to the colonel about how he did it. The doctor tells Arturzinho to rest. Bafo de Bode and Hilário face off.

Tieta gives the pastor money to leave the city. Tieta tells Ascânio to tell him everything about Arthur. Everyone goes to the fireworks display. Carmosina and Gladstone spend the night together.

Amintas tries to speak to Amorzinho, but she does not accept his advice. Timóteo asks Elisa to lend her the house for two hours. Chalita asks Tieta to help Amorzinho.

The colonel surprises Filó by leaving home and threatens him. Amorzinho tells Perpétua that he will not obey her blindly. Tonha visits Arturzinho. Gladstone tells Tieta that he did as she was told.

Tieta insists on paying Gladstone for the favor he did to Carmosina. Arturzinho tells Tonha that he hasn't forgotten her. Tieta asks Leonora to tell her what Mirko has to do with Arthur.

Timóteo goes to Mangue Seco to deliver a package to Carol, while Bebê awaits him at his home with Elisa. Timóteo has dinner with Carol and Osnar sees him leaving.

Arturzinho confesses to Tieta that he is Mirko and demands that she tell him why he also changed his surname, but she does not. Elisa asks Timóteo to leave the house free for her and Rosalvo.

Rosalvo and Bebé reveal to Ascânio that Tieta uses a false surname. Arturzinho kisses Tonha. Arturzinho overhears his father talking to Modesto and Marcolino about Bafo de Bode.

Leonora convinces Ascânio that his surname is true. Leonora receives a letter from Francisco. Tieta discovers that Tonha and her brother are the true owners of Mangue Seco.

Francisco sends Leonora to find him. Tieta tells everyone that Tonha is the owner of Mangue Seco. Osnar gets tired of waiting for Tieta for dinner and leaves. Tonha catches Elisa and Rosalvo.

Timóteo tells Tonha that he invited Rosalvo. Osnar tells Carol about Tieta and she sends him away. Tieta gets tired of waiting for Osnar and throws the dinner she has set on the floor.

Sleepwalking, Timóteo sleeps embraced with Elisa. Leonora goes to Esplanada to find Francisco, but Helena is the one who waits for her. She shows him a story that accuses Leonora of being a drug dealer.

Helena says she will only be quiet if Leonora leaves Ascânio. Tieta and Osnar argue, but end up sleeping together. Cosme tells Perpétua that Ricardo has fled the seminary.

Leonora lies to Carmosina. Perpétua goes to Tieta's room to look for Ricardo, but only finds Osnar. Osnar asks Tieta how they will be if Ricardo comes back.

Imaculada tells Leticia that she has an impossible love. Imaculada hears Cinira comment on Ricardo's disappearance with Milu and passes out. Silvana comes back. Leonora tells Ascânio that she will leave him.

Leonora tells Ascânio that she got tired of him. Imaculada offends Perpetual. Silvana visits Laura. Helena arrives and goes to see Ascânio. Leonora returns to Tieta's house.

Tieta offers to tell Ascânio the whole truth. Silvana confesses to Laura that she returned because of Dário. Bebê buys all the dresses made by Aída. Ascânio seeks Leonora.

Laura authorizes Dário to betray her with Silvana. Cora overhears Tieta telling Gladstone that she paid him to sleep with Carmosina. Perpetual listens to Cora comment this to Araci and tells Carmosina.

Mirko sends Helena to the beach house. Ascânio does not agree with the expropriation of Mangue Seco. Bitter, Carmosina thanks Tieta for paying Gladstone to sleep with her.

Tieta is unable to convince her friend that she just wanted to do him good. Osnar convinces Carmosina to listen to Gladstone's explanations. Carmosina and Gladstone meet at Elisa's house.

Gladstone tries to explain himself to Carmosina. After discovering that it was Perpétua who told Carmosina everything, Tieta goes to her sister's house and takes the white box.

Gladstone leaves. Dário invites Silvana to dinner at his house. Manon organizes the party of Zuleika's arrival. Ascânio is fired by the colonel. Leonora and Ascânio meet.

The colonel expropriates Mangue Seco. Bebê tells Aída that her brother wants all of his production. Leonora tells Ascânio that Arturzinho did not travel. Zuleika arrives bringing Ricardo.

Arturzinho spends the night with Tonha. Cinira discovers that Ricardo was in the brothel and tells Perpétua. Perpétua asks Marcolino how he can manage his son's assets.

Aída tells Carol that they will start working at the tannery. Perpétua reveals to Tieta that Ricardo has returned. Ascânio asks Arturzinho why he told his father to expropriate Mangue Seco.

Arturzinho shows Ascânio the story that accuses Leonora of being a drug dealer. Perpétua tells Ricardo that he will sell the house and asks for a power of attorney. Tieta wakes up with Ricardo watching her.

Ricardo and Tieta talk about how they changed. Amorzinho tells Cinira that Carol will make a new wedding dress. Perpetual asks Marcolino if he is entitled to Tonha's inheritance.

Carmosina tells her mother that she wanted to eat the wedding flowers. Timóteo is attacked by the Woman in White. Milu tells her daughter that she is pregnant. Ascânio seeks Leonora.

Arturzinho convinces Perpétua to accept money to give up on Mangue Seco. Ascânio asks Leonora to return to him. Arturzinho asks Tonha to marry him and confesses that he is Mirko.

Milu tells Tieta that Arthur is guilty of his mother's death. Ricardo signs the power of attorney for Perpétua. Tonha will spend a few days at Elisa's house and notice that something is wrong.

Elisa and Timóteo are unable to prevent Tonha from being with them. Silvana is waiting for Dário at her home. Bafo de Bode offends Tonha and Arturzinho hits him with a whip.

Tonha is disappointed with Arturzinho. Tieta accuses Osnar of using Carol. Imaculada tells Ricardo that she loves him. The Woman in White tries to attack Arthur.

Mirko remembers the Woman in White. Tonha promises to help Bafo de Bode if he stops drinking. Dário finds a chest. Perpétua enters Tieta's room and smothers her with a pillow.

Perpétua realizes that she is suffocating Araci. Tieta decides to change the will. Information about Tieta arrives for Mirko. Perpétua tells Tonha about Elisa and Timóteo.

Ascânio and Mirko fight. Dário and Laura reveal to Silvana what is in the chest. Modesto tells Perpétua to apologize to Letícia or he will tell everyone about the white box.

Dário opens the chest and sees that the diary has turned to dust. Dário finds the Woman in White's dress in a canoe. Mirko is told that Helena has run away. Modesto sees Júnior fall into a well.

Ascânio expels Helena from her home. Laura and Dário decide to move and take Silvana. Moraes Moreira and Pepeu Gomes arrive in Santana to make a clip. Mirko calls Leonora Sheila.

Ricardo doesn't like to know that Imaculada is going to São Paulo. Tonha agrees to sell her land to Brastânio, but Tieta warns that she will claim her share to prevent her friend.

Tieta sends Tonha to tell Arturzinho that she is going to fight with him. The colonel restores Ascânio to the job of the city hall. Ricardo confesses to the Imaculada that he is confused and they kiss.

Tonha tells Tiko about Tieta's decision. Mirko orders Ascânio to expropriate Mangue Seco or he will tell everyone who Leonora is. Leticia forgives her father. Ricardo decides to run for councilor.

Juracy sends Marcolino anonymous letters saying he has a lover. Arturzinho travels. Osnar tells Tieta that he wants to be with her. Ten days later, Arthur returns.

Helena looks for Mirko, who burns her hand with a cigarette. Milu tells the colonel that Arthur is to blame for his mother's death. Perpétua reads the dossier on Tieta.

Perpétua sees the killer leaving the city hall and goes over there. Tieta looks for Mirko at the city hall. Perpétua takes the priest and Osnar to the scene and they find Tieta with the gun.

Elisa tells Timóteo that she is going to São Paulo. Gladstone and Ascânio invite everyone to a meeting. Bode of Bode threatens Perpetual.

Filó enters the meeting, accuses Trapizomba and asks Perpétua to confirm the story. At Mass for Arturzinho, Perpétua tells everyone that Tieta is Quenga.

Perpétua attacks Tieta, who tears off her wig. Tieta opens the tourist complex. Bafo de Bode opens his circus.
