Carlos Martínez is an undocumented Mexican who lives in Los Angeles. He is an honest and hardworking man who has the constant fear of being deported and losing his two sons: Luís and Rodrigo. His great dream has been to give them a better life, but his desire is overshadowed when his eldest son, Rodrigo, disappears without a trace and joins a gang. Meanwhile, Carlos will try to protect and keep Luís away from the dangerous networks that plague the city. Luis, Carlos' son, helps him recover his truck, it is the only option he has to get ahead as a gardener. Adela hides to survive among the criminal gangs.
Carlos catches Adela and forces her to look for the truck together, Luis warns his father of the risk of holding her. In prison, the Faier, transmits the order of the leader of La Colonia.
Luis becomes involved in a dangerous situation between gang members, when Adela escapes to save Laura, his mother. Carlos goes on the trail of the scammer who has what belongs to him.
Adela and Luis try to get rid of Naomi, she threatens them with a gun and is drugged. Carlos faces the jealousy of his girlfriend Felicia and the worry that his son did not go to school.
Carlos and Adela try to get the truck out of the mechanic's garage, he is increasingly attracted. The news about Naomi unleashes the fury of the Fang, the big fish of La Colonia.
Cristobal gives Adela terrible news, she despairs and refuses to accept it. Colmillo learns how that tragedy happened, it's his chance to catch the gang member.
Carlos makes an announcement to his family, while Felicia's life takes a complete turn. Adela confronts one of La Colonia's hitmen, after receiving information about her mother.
Adela does not know how the Faier saved her from La Colonia, he imposes a condition. Felicia's secret is at risk, as Fang initiates Willy's sister into the band, under his code.
A sudden encounter between Adela and Rodrigo leads them to an argument, she is very upset by the disappearance of her mother and feels discovered. Carlos is surprised by his attitude.
Carlos lives the most intense moment of his search when he meets Faier, but he is tough and determined. Adela cannot imagine what she is about to learn about the person responsible for her brother's death.
Adela is devastated, she cannot forget her revenge despite feeling madly in love with Carlos. He does not believe that his son is a murderer and intends to help him get out of prison.
Carlos is not willing to allow Adela to leave, he tries to stop her to show the great love he feels for her. Felicia wants to get the gang member out of her way at any cost.
Felicia's jealousy unleashes Carlos' distrust, but Adela defends herself and reveals her secrets. The gang member faces another threat, she must save Luis's life in the midst of gunfire.
Carlos forgives Adela for all her lies and makes her an oath. Weeks pass and Felicia seeks Luis's acceptance and complicity to approach the gardener again.
El Faier goes to the extreme of evil to get Adela to return, the danger is imminent. At the same time, Greicy gives him news that disconcerts him and from which he is excluded.
The gang members are attentive to the arrival of Adela, she arrives at the hospital to rescue her mother, but things get worse. El Millo gives no respite to avenge the death of his daughter.
Carlos is excited by a chance meeting, at the same time he cannot believe the sudden news he receives about his son. Adela is cornered, she makes the riskiest decision.
