First up, they must impress the judges with a Q and A style challenge on the industry and themselves, followed by a fitting and rehearsal for Terra Fashion Experience at a penthouse apartment in Green Point. Who will be crowned the Ultimate Model?
TOP 5 models no longer needing a mansion, move into an apartment in CT CBD. International model scout MONICA NIEVA becomes a guest judge in the first challenge where our models have to show us key expressions from laughter to tears all in front of our judges. Our models are playing for the huge reward of booking a spot in the final. The remaining 4 contestants are taken out of town the following day and put to the test in a swimwear shoot, with photographer Alexandra Klöhn, on a high-speed boat. Emotions run high as the last model is eliminated, leaving the top 4 to ...
Chad is ecstatic that his roommate made it back into the house. Nerves are shattered as the models are told that they will be walking at Men's Fashion Week. A recognized international fashion week with top designers from around SA. Models feel first hand what the chaos is like backstage, strict briefings with designers, and Monique had never walked anywhere before. Did Jimmy do enough for our models to stand out amongst some of SA's best ramp models? Only time will tell as our judges will have the hard task of sending 2 models packing.
SHOCKED by the double-elimination challenge in the previous episode, the remaining top 6 models are rewarded with a visit to a renowned medical doctor from Skin Renewal in Paarl and are treated to luxurious skin treatments. A trip down memory lane back at the house turns into a big surprise for the models as all the previously eliminated models return to the house. All 12 models are reunited and sent out to sea. The eliminated 6 stand a chance to redeem themselves in a "pirate" themed fashion shoot with photographer SEAN SHANNON and make their way back into the house ...
The house seems to be a much smaller place as only 8 models now occupy it. Models are tasked with an "Amazing Race" type challenge where they will be put to the test of working in pairs. Clue after clue, the models move around Cape Town in their stylish Mini Coopers only to arrive at the final destination which is a waste management facility where they are met with a shock double elimination challenge. Photographer THEODORE AFRICA 'WASTES" no time in putting them to the test. Decisions become harder for our expert panel, but inevitably, 2 models dreams come crashing ...
The 10 remaining Models walk into Panavision film studios, where a brief video is shown to them on the devastation and impact the fashion industry has on our planet. An introduction to film director Harold Hölscher can only mean one thing. A huge test, as the models need to prepare for a nude performance in front of a motion camera crew. Models make their first TV commercial #whomakesmyclothes. The winner gets to pick a partner and are spoiled at the Camelot Spa. All too soon, a double elimination challenge is upon them as they have to get sexy in designer lingerie ...
Bianca is being singled out in the house and seems to have two sides to her personality, one with her fellow competitors, and one with the judges. After a massive party from nobody being eliminated in the previous episode, the severely hungover models are thrown into an avant-garde challenge with Makeup artist Raine Tauber and photographer Ingrid Irsigler. The winner receiving the reward, our models are told that the following day they will be getting a master class on how to catwalk with International ramp model Jimi Ogunlaja. But, are they ready to strut their stuff...
Models are treated to a makeover by Wernology Hair Design. Denver and Red are unhappy with their new look while Monique has a mild meltdown. Judges love the new look and put them to the test in a portrait challenge with photographer Marguerite Oelofse and floral stylist Alwijn Burger A.K.A "BlomBoy". Once again, this elimination challenge sets extremely high standards the models will have to endure, with the question being, "Which model's dream will come to an end?"
Top 12 Models move into the model house in Cape Town. Ayanda, having impressed the judges in the previous challenges, gets to pick her own room. A selfie challenge is first up, with the winner getting an advantage in the second challenge, which is a tricky Premier Active sportswear clothing "stills" shoot on Llundudno beach with designer Danielle Ehlers and photographer Adrian Shields. The reality sinks in as the worst-performing model is sent packing.
Models and wild cards from around the country enter into this year's competition to see if they have what it takes to become the next ultimate model. The models are each interviewed by our 3 Judges, Pieter Black, Coenraad De Mol, Kholofelo Mabusela and show host Christia Visser. As 26 models advance to the next stage, will they have what it takes to get through a Mardi Gras catwalk and "stills" photo shoot to make it into the top 12 and Model house?
