Episode 8 - Monster Teeth Cake

“Argh! What big teeth you have!” Could you make a monster cake with milk bottle lolly teeth? That’s the challenge for today’s bakers, and meanwhile the athletes have to shoot for basketball hoops. But there’s a twist on the court as one athlete from each team has to face away from the hoop as they try to earn points. Teams are Kick ‘N Mix vs Sugar Boost and they’re competing for sugar, bananas, dark chocolate, cream cheese, red food colouring and milk bottle lollies. Who will take the cake? Guest judge is theatre designer Lucas Neal.

Episode 7 - Critter Cake
First Aired: June. 22,2024

Colourful marbled cakes topped with smiling critters are being constructed by the bakers, while the athletes are facing a challenge on the badminton court. It’s a rally challenge. Teams are Speedy Sprinkles vs Sure to Rise and they’re competing for sugar, eggs, purple and yellow food colouring, red fondant, yellow colour oil and edible glue. Who will take the cake? Guest judge is Phil Cheesman from Cake It Forward.

Episode 6 - Cartoon Donut Cake

It's girls vs boys. Tasty donut cakes that would be at home in your favourite cartoon are up for grabs in the kitchen, while athletes battle it out on the hockey field. Will they get the hockey balls past the goalies? Teams are Bake My Day vs the Whisk Warriors and they’re competing for baking powder, buttermilk, hundreds and thousands, butter, red food colouring and black fondant. Who will take the cake? Guest judge is Lucas Neal, theatre designer and previous competitor on The Great Kiwi Bake Off.

Episode 5 - Pasifika Unicorn Cake

Bakers must create unique Pasifika Unicorn banana cakes in the kitchen, while the athletes go for goal in a football challenge. We discover one baker has never mashed bananas before! Learning new skills! Teams are Cake Ninjas vs Keke Crew and they’re competing for sugar, vanilla essence, bananas, butter cream, purple food colouring and white fondant. Who will take the cake? Guest judges are Papa’s Cakes’ Jasmine and Howard Tonga.

Episode 4 - Taste of Summer Cake

Refreshing watermelon cake is on the recipe for the bakers, while the athletes test their skills on the golf green. Who can get a hole in one? Teams are Bake ‘n Run vs The Sweeties and they’re competing for baking powder, red food colouring, white vinegar, chocolate truffle, red colour oil and black fondant. Bakers get chomping to create a cake that has a shark rising from the depths of the ocean. On the field, athletes compete in a game of pétanque then battle it out on the endurance course. Teams are Shakers and Bakers vs The Egg Beaters and they’re competing for blue food colouring, butter, milk, white and black fondant and blue colour oil. Who will take the cake? Episode 2 - Carrot Cake

Delicious and delectable petite carrot cakes are being created in the kitchen, while the athletes test their cricket skills by taking wickets. Can anyone bowl like a Black Cap? Teams are The Von Sweets vs All Bakes and they’re competing for carrots, brown sugar, cinnamon, cream cheese, white chocolate and edible gold leaf. Who will take the cake?
