Road to the Winter Classic Season 4 Full Episode Guide
The Epix original series "Road to the NHL Winter Classic" wraps up its run profiling the New Year’s Day battle between the Chicago Blackhawks and Washington Capitals at Nationals Park.
Hockey is a sport about traditions, and episode three of "Road To The NHL Winter Classic" introduces us to the rituals of the season on and off the ice, in Russian and Swedish, and from the streets of New York to the ski slopes of Vail. Both the Washington Capitals and Chicago Blackhawks enter the Christmas break looking to shrug off emotional losses on the ice by re-connecting with family and friends away from the ice, and re-emerge refreshed and refocused, resulting in wins for both teams as they prepare for the January 1 matchup at Nationals Park.
As the holidays draw near, the Blackhawks and Capitals reflect on the life moments they can't get back, as we get an inside look into the precious time the coaches, team and staff spend with their families in this, the most hectic time of year. The Capitals go 20 rounds in the longest shoot out in NHL history and Ovechkin and teammates show support for the Washington Wizards at a home game. Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford returns to the lineup and the team deals with the sudden, tragic loss of a beloved member of their traveling family.
As the Blackhawks and Capitals embark on their journey to the NHL Winter Classic, the teams get used to the cameras, Coach Barry Trotz opens up off the ice, rookie Scott Darling debuts as goalie for the Blackhawks, Brad Richards balances being a new father with his busy work schedule, and Alexander Ovechkin and his coach begin to hit their groove.
