The Take That veteran heads into Johannesburg to meet soul sensation and friend Mica Paris. The pair spend time at Sanctuary Mandela, taking in the history of the great man, hearing live music, and sampling fantastic food, before heading to Soweto for a community braai, an event featuring great wine and entertainment.
The Take That star heads north with Jane McDonald as they touch down in Skukuza in the Kruger National Park. The singers enjoy a safari that includes a local breakfast favourite prepared by the resident head chef. Added to the mix is a local choir, high tea, South African sparkling wine and a magical experience with a family of elephants.
Gary is joined by Ben Shephard as he travels up into the mountains to Iona Wines where they pick grapes, have a lesson on wine aging and are treated to some home cooking. The pair then meet one of the country's youngest wine producers, Maanschijn, in Walker Bay where they get stuck in with some traditional wine making methods before sampling the best the winery has to offer and taking a trip down the Klein River.
Gary and his best friend Eliot Kennedy head to the Babylonstoren Wine Estate where they're put to work by the chief winemaker and the resident gardener. On the famous Franschhoek Wine Tram, Gary is joined by wildlife presenter Michaela Strachan as they get up close and personal with the local seals before meeting a Cape Town jazz legend for a home cooked meal and an exclusive musical performance
He begins his adventure by meeting best friend and fellow musician Eliot Kennedy in Franschhoek, heading straight to the Spier Wine Farm for a crash course in the country's most celebrated grape varieties before sampling some classic South African food, cooked on a braai.
