For Louie's birthday, his grandma gives Louie a sweater which she made for him. While trying to write the thank you letter, Louie decides to instead play with his friends. When he finally writes the letter, he finds out his grandma has died.
Louie meets famous comedian Kazoo.Kazoo came to town,to see his mother Ora.He wants Louie to come and watch his show with his mother.Well,Louie wants it,but his mother doesn't.After the show,Louie decides to become a comedian.So,he asks Kazoo to help him.Louie is very good,and he is even going to stand and laugh people on audition.But,when he finds out,that being comedain has some thing to do with insulting people.
When the town loudmouth, Jen Glenn, gets a rare and acute form of laryngitis, everyone in Cedar Knoll is elated.
To avoid trying out for the school play, Louie claims membership in the Chess club. Obligated to attend a club meeting, Louie soon discovers he's a chess prodigy!
Little Louie's never met a job he didn't like, but he does (eventually) get his household tasks done. Yet, he may have taken on a task that's more than he can handle when he tries to help down-and-out friend of the family get back on his feet. It's a single act of kindness - but it's doubled his chores!
For his vacation science homework, Louie has to give a detailed report on honey bees. He ends up enlisting the help of his father on this project, but Andy ends up taking over the care and observation of the bees and develops a special kinship with the bees. Louie tries to figure out how he is going to give a presentation on the bees when he can't get anywhere near them with his father in the picture.
When Mom thinks she's pregnant, Louie becomes concerned that he'll be thrown out of the nest to make room for the new baby.
When a new kid comes to town, Jeannie befriends him and Louie is reduced to second fiddle.
Louie's class must give a speech and if someone wins, the class will go to Washington. Louie buys a speech from Glen Glenn and he wins. Andy accompanies the trip because he was in a war with the president. After Andy tells Louie he must always tell the truth, Louie tells the truth about the speech.
When Louie ignores the latest tornado drill, he is swept up by a twister.
Earl Grunewald is promoted to be a main worker of the tractor factory. While the Grunewald family goes for a ski trip, Louie pretends to be a ski master, so the Anderson family also joins.
Louie can't wait to go to summer camp, because it means escaping the humiliation that Glen Glenn dishes out during the school year.
Louie gets a summer job as a caddy to earn some extra cash and becomes the good luck charm and personal servant to Jojo Stomopolous, the resident Pinenut Country Club snob.
