Tiff drives the very quick 3 wheeled T-Rex. Vicki takes Theo Paphitis out to test the £145,000 Mercedes S65 AMG. The Fifth Gear Idol competition winner is revealed. The Fifth Gear Awards 2006 where their top picks for best small car, best family car, best fast car, best overall car, and worst celebrity driver of the year.
Tom drives a 4×4 that is greener than a Mini, the Honda CR-V. Tim learns from stunt driver Russ Swift how to do the handbrake turn parking stunt. Tiff uses an Audi S3 to give some tips on taking your own car to a track day. Jon Bentley talks about how to buy a car wisely when it comes to depreciation. Jonny enters a 0-60 MPH competition in the UK’s slowest-accelerating car, an 800cc Chevrolet Matiz. Vicki takes a 15-year-old Daihatsu Charade out on a rally track.
Behind the scenes of the Euro NCAP stars and how their crash tests are done. Tim checks out the Piaggio MP3, a three wheeled scooter. Tiff and Jason decide which is best — the new BMW Z4 Coupe or the new Audi TT. Vicki gets a lesson from Terry Grant on how to drive on two wheels in a car. Jonny Smith travels to the General Motors test facility in Germany to find out how car manufacturers test airbags by becoming a live test dummy. Tom tries to pull a Boeing 747 with a stock Volkswagen Touareg, at the Top Gear test track and the plane from Casino Royale incidentally.
Jason attempts to sell the car he bought in an earlier episode for a profit. Jonny Smith sees how fast the vegetable oil powered Mercedes-Benz from a previous episode can go. Tom drives the new Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe, a hard-top convertible. Previous winners of the giveaway cars are announced. Tiff visits visits Mercedes-Benz World, the biggest car dealership in the country, and test drives Mercedes’ newest and most powerful 4×4, the ML 63 AMG. Tim Lovejoy goes banger racing with comedian Alan Davies. Vicki drives the new Porsche 911 GT3.
Tiff, a die hard German fan, tries to look at the Alfa Romeo 159 in a more Italian way. Tim Lovejoy meets the new Bond star, Daniel Craig to find out more about Casino Royale, the cars in it, and Craig’s previous cars. Tom drives the new Land Rover Freelander 2, to the most remote school in Britain. Simon attempts to use the new Citroen C4 Picasso to recreate a famous Picasso painting in the sand. Vicki takes on champion bike racers Leon Haslam, Jamie Whitham, Jamie Robinson and up and coming twins Alex and Sam Lowes in a Mini-Moto (little motorcycles) race Vicki tries waterskiing behing a motorbike.
Jason finds out if he can find an exciting used car for £9000 and then sell it for a profit. Tiff drives the Lotus Exige 265E, a bio-ethanol powered car that ends up getting 50 HP more due to it’s fuel. Tom checks out the new Volvo C30 Sports Coupe. Exclusive behind the scenes of the car stunts in the next Bond movie, Casino Royale. Vicki creates an ejector seat scene similar to the one from the Bond movie, Goldfinger.
Jason takes to the track in a Litchfield Type 25 Impreza, a highly tuned Subaru Impreza WRX STi which is based on a version of the Impreza that’s only available in Japan and that’s the base for the Group N rally car. Since golfer Ian Poulter’s new Ford GT is not yet street legal, Tim Lovejoy arranges for him to test another Ford GT on a track. Vicki takes a look at the Volkswagen Golf GT which has both a turbocharger and a supercharger. Jon Bentley finds out at what speed is the best to go over a speed bump. Tom drives the very quick, but rather bland BMW 335i Coupe. Tiff drives a £170,000 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano in Bolivia on a leg of the Ferrari Panamerican challenge.
Jason drives the brand new Lotus Europa S. Fifth Gear pick their top 5 favorite Bond car chases with some commentary from Sir Roger Moore. Tom goes crazy in the final Vauxhall Monaro model, the VXR 500. Pete Tong visits the Fifth Gear cafe to do a little off-road challenge in a Land Rover Defender. Wayne Hemingway, founder of the Red or Dead fashion label, goes out on a lake with Tim in a 1960’s Amphicar. Tiff and Vicki see who can go faster on the most powerful production motorcycle in the world, the Kawasaki ZZR1400. Jonny Smith sees if he can mow more lawn in a Volkswagen Touareg pulling a mower than the world’s largest mower, the £250,000 Claas Cougar.
Jason powerslides an imported Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 around a track. Vicki races a 1050 HP racing semi-truck Tiff tries out the new Suzuki Swift Sport. Now that Quad bikes are road legal in the UK, Tom tries one out on the road. Tim rides along with some traffic police.
Jason Plato is back and he’s teaching England cricketer Kevin Pietersen how to race in a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. Tim Lovejoy hangs out with GQ magazine editor and style guru Dylan Jones to find out what cars are considered cool for the modern man. Tom Ford heads to Barcelona to drive the all-new version of the new Mini. Another installment of “Wreck My Ride”, this time with a 1993 Fiat Cinquecento. Jonny Smith checks out the world’s fastest street legal car — a highly modified Vauxhall Victor. Vicki drives the Nissan Murano Grand Tourer Concept, a super sporty SUV that supposedly drives like a sports car. The master Tiff works his magic on the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder.
Guy Smith, a Le Mans winner, races in a Volkswagen Transporter Sportline against Tiff in an A-Team GMC van replica (I assume / hope it’s a replica). Superbike racer Shakey Byrne goes to Italy to drive the new Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. Vicki teaches her older sister how to race a Lotus Elise S around a circuit. Tim Lovejoy takes to the streets of London in an electric car called the G Wiz in an effort to find out if it’s practical or not. Tom Ford drives the very odd looking Skoda Roomster. Jon Bentley investigates how safe the ramped ends of motorway crash barriers are by driving a car into one.
Fifth Gear Tom Ford is testing the opulent £225,000 Bentley Azure with some help from film director Michael Winner; Jonny Smith tries to drive coast to coast using chip fat as fuel.
