Suffering heavy losses, Barry wrestles with the notion that he needs the palace’s support to survive. As paranoia builds within Jamal, he questions where Rami’s loyalty lies. Stricken by Abdul’s death, Sammy plans to give his money to insurgents fighting the Army of the Caliphate.
Jamal feels his country is spiraling out of control and is desperate for a military victory - no matter the cost. Barry's attempt to rescue Daliyah has unintended consequences. Seeing he's on shaky ground, Rami consults with Amira on how to navigate Jamal's erratic behavior.
Barry opts to stay in Abbudin and take a stand against the Caliphate. Jamal leans on the Chinese diplomat to promise military support. Sammy is shocked to learn that Abdul has been kidnapped by the Caliphate.
The Army of the Caliphate arrives and Barry fears his identity will be revealed. Jamal and Tariq's conflict over military action reaches a tipping point. Molly and Sammy travel to Abuddin.
Barry attempts to adjust to his new identity. A highly decorated war hero is introduced to Jamal.
Barry ends up being taken in by a Bedouin family. Jamal is upset over Tariq's drastic military action.
Molly returns to the U.S., but struggles to adjust to life without Barry. Meanwhile, Jamal deals with the loss of a close relative.
