Australian Idol Season 1
Australian Idol is an Australian singing competition, which began its first season in July 2003 and ended its original run in November 2009 before being revived in January 2023. As part of the Idol franchise, Australian Idol originated from the reality program Pop Idol, which was created by British entertainment executive Simon Fuller. Australian Idol was televised on Network Ten for its first seven series and was broadcast on Austereo Radio Network between 2005 and 2007.

2003 / NRThe first season of Australian Idol was produced by Fremantle Media subsidiary Grundy Television in association with UK company 19TV, and was broadcast on Network Ten for 19 weeks in the latter half of 2003. The judges were Mark Holden, Marcia Hines and Ian "Dicko" Dickson.

The top 75 from the auditions are divided into three groups were they have to perform in their groups a dedicated song. After three days of practise, each group showed their skills to Mark, Marcia and Dicko to ensure their place in the Top 40.
In the premiere of Australin Idol, we saw the best and worst auditions with Mark, Marcia and Dicko in major cities around Australia. The picked 75 auditioners with talent to move on to the next round.
