Birds of a Feather is a British sitcom that was broadcast on BBC One from 1989 until 1998 and on ITV from 2013. Starring Pauline Quirke, Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph, it was created by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, who also wrote some of the episodes along with many other writers. The first episode sees sisters Tracey Stubbs and Sharon Theodopolopodos brought together when their husbands are sent to prison for armed robbery. Sharon, who lived in an Edmonton council flat, moves into Tracey's expensive house in Chigwell, Essex. Their next-door neighbour, and later friend, Dorien Green is a middle-aged married woman who is constantly having affairs with younger men. In the later series the location is changed to Hainault. The series ended on Christmas Eve 1998 after a 9-year-run.

It's Christmas Eve. After over-indulging, Sharon nods off and dreams of a very different life. Chris is a rich and famous pop star, she is his glamorous diva wife, and Dorien is their virginal spinster cleaning lady. Tracey, meanwhile, is a down and out, living in a council flat with her layabout husband Darryl and their delinquent son Garth.
Sharon's order book is empty, and Dorien has had her credit card limit slashed.
Prospective client Monty Kray wants a pool installing - within days.
There are surprises all around when Dorien and the sisters trace their first loves.
Sharon struggles to run the café alongside the pool business.
Sharon thinks installing a swimming pool will be easy, since she has a café full of builders.

Tracey considers a move to the country, as Garth settles into the flat above the café.
After a heated argument, Sharon and Tracey agree to change places for a week.
Chris's cousin seems intent on turning the café into a drinking den.
Dorien's spending sprees are ever-more lavish - but why?

Garth is dating an older divorcee, while Chris has turned his hand to creative writing.
Someone famous is moving to Chigwell. She's guarded by heavies, and her children are called Harry and William. It's no wonder Tracey, Sharon, and Dorien draw the obvious conclusions.
