Epitafios is a 2004 13-episode, Argentinian crime fiction TV mini-series with the tagline: El Final Está Escrito ... The End Is Written. The series, which takes place in an unnamed South American city, was shot in Buenos Aires. The series was produced by HBO Latin America and Argentinian TV/film company Pol-Ka Producciones. It was written by Marcelo Slavich and Walter Slavich and directed by Alberto Lecchi and Jorge Nisco. Although all of the actors were Argentinian, a neutral Spanish was used instead of the local Rioplatense Spanish, avoiding colloquialisms such as the local vos in favor of the more common tú. The series debuted in Australia on SBS in May 2007 under the title If The Dead Could Speak. It premiered in Poland on Cinemax on November 6, 2008. In Germany, it premiered on November 6, 2009 on pay TV channel FOX under the title Epitafios - Tod Ist Die Antwort.

While Bruno holds Laura hostage, Renzo is a victim of desperation. A chat session will dazzle Bruno, who will never rest until make Renzo suffer exactly what he did. At the end, at the place where everything started, Renzo will try to rewrite the end of this story.
After taking Marina off the case, Jiménez reveals who shot his mother. Anguish will once again lead Marina to an old and deadly game. While Renzo and Marina try to play with Bruno's weaknesses, he will use his adversaries' biggest one to orchestrate a meticulous plan.
After coming back to the police force, Renzo finds a new epitaph. Bruno visits his father's funerary while he's followed closely by the police. Marina revives her traumatic experience with Bruno, experience related to the body of an old lady that lies in the morgue. At the same time, Bruno gets closer to the end of his victim list.
Bruno feels disturbed after watching his photograph at the newspapers. Next to a warning, Renzo receives news of Marina. After watching Nico leave, Laura prepares to leave the country. While she stays captive, Marina will have to fight against her own impulses. And when the number of dead bodies precipitately rises, Renzo will make a drastic decision.
After his last visit to Laura's consultory, Bruno decides to change his appearance. At the same time, Laura makes a hard choice to protect Nico. In a funerary, Renzo and Laura discover new information about Bruno. Meanwhile, Bruno is closer to Marina than she and everybody else thinks.
Renzo meets detective Marina Segal. A photograph will reveal to Laura the face of the killer. Marina will also make an important discovery thanks to a photograph. While Renzo sets a trap and Marina gets closer to the truth, the destiny of The One Incapable to Distinguish Between the Trash and the Miracle will be written on a new epitaph.
After silence Fernando's mother, the killer concentrates about fixing his only mistake so far. In a basement, the ring of a phone could end the life of The One Who Ignored that Disgrace Attends the Twenty-Four Hours.
Frustrated about what happened at the airport, the killer decides to reveal his name to Laura and hurt Renzo where it hurts the most. An unexpected visitor arrives at Renzo's house while Martín receives information that could lead to the killer. All of this leads to a chase to save two victims: an innocent and The One That Died Like He Lived, at Distime.
Laura finds new information about the killer, at the same time, her relation with her ex-husband becomes more tense. A new epitaph, found next to the body of the previous victim predicts the luck of The One Who Ignored that Disgrace Attends the Twenty-Four Hours. Laura thinks to know who's the new victim. Now in an airport, Renzo, the victim and the killer will be very close to each other.
Back at the storages, Renzo finds important information, Manuel goes to Laura's consultory and The One Who Made of Curiosity an Obsession will satisfy the killer's curiosity. At the same time, in a complicated police operation, Renzo gets unexpected help. All of this leads to a horrific spectacle witnessed by Renzo and Laura.
Trying to figure out the identity of the killer, Renzo and Martín follow the trail of one of the possible guilties. At the same time, they receive the epitaph of The One That Made of Deception a Game. Renzo gets closer to his prey.
After the death of The One Who Never Should Have, Renzo and Martín decide to work together. Their investigations drive directly to to the father of one of the dead boys on the incident at the school. Meanwhile, Laura is stalked by the killer, who tries to force her to be with Renzo. One old debt will inspire the epitaph of the potential new victim, The One Who Refused to do the Right Thing at the Wrong Time.
Five years after the death of several innocents at a local school, a brutal crime reunites again sheriff Eugenio Benítez, ex-cop Renzo Márquez and psychiatrist Laura Santini, all at the time a headstone shows the faith of The One Who Never Should Have.
