While not as popular as its predecessor, the show maintained a large enough audience to last for four seasons, until its cancellation in 1983. In its first season, the show performed so well that it knocked Mork & Mindy out of its new Sunday night time slot.

Blind Mr. Van Ranseleer is mugged by a customer at the bar who overhears Van Ranseleer is carrying a sum of money on him. It's now up to Archie and the staff to help him get out of his apartment when he becomes fearful of being attacked again.
Archie buys a truck for the bar. While José is parking it, he accidentally hits a Rolls Royce. The owner goes into the bar to simply ask Archie to take care of the damage, but Archie digs himself an even bigger hole.
Archie's bar seems to keep getting broken into, but the truth is, it just might be one his own employees.
Stephanie wants to try out for her school's baseball team, but Archie has a big problem with the idea.

Roger Abbott is hired by the Rabinowitz law firm to be Archie's business manager, but he and Archie soon disagree on how the bar is run. Later, Archie begins to realizes he lacks business management skills.
