POK gets framed and becomes involved in a hoax bomb threat. POK remembers he met a clown in the shopping mall and he suspects that it was the guy who took his fingerprints. POK gets attacked while looking around for the clown. YAU holds a celebration party but POK does not show up as promised. Everyone frets about his absence and wonders where he has gone. POK awakes from unconsciousness and finds himself being locked up in a container. The clown claims that he has set up a game for POK and his friends, in which his friends will be made to see him die. Despite what the guy has said, POK remains steadfast in his belief that his friends will be able to save him. YAU receives a parcel and finds inside a videotape of POK being locked up in the dark. The police try to find out how POK is kidnapped. SUM gets so worried when he receives another videotape showing POK suffering from dehydration.… ...
After a series of tests, the forensic team consider that MAN is not the murderer. YAU is so concerned about the case that she has almost burnt herself out. POK cannot bear to see her go on like this, so he tries to get her to eat her meal and lets her take a nap in his car. Despite his special affection towards YAU, POK still cannot forget about YIU. HING begs SUM to track down the real murderer for MAN. POK notices that TRACY is so familiar with the foot massage device, which makes him begin to suspect the girl. To eliminate herself from suspicion, TRACY means to scald her legs with boiling water. SUM and TING go to visit TRACY at the Sun Magazine. They learn from the editor that TRACY will be going back to Australia. TING goes to TRACY’s home to hand her a tube of ointment but makes a big discovery there unexpectedly. In the meantime, SUM and POK have also found some new clues respectively. SUM hurries to TRACY’s home to have a look.… ...
YAU and POK go and investigate the death of KWOK-WAI. The female suspect looks so common, which makes the investigation really difficult. MAN pushes TING down the stairs. TING gets injured and SUM gives MAN a good telling-off right away. POK leaves a message to the Judge on SUM’s website asking him/her out for a meeting. YAU sends a team of staff to assist POK but the operation turns out to be a failure. A pregnant woman is almost injured in the chaos and the blame goes to YAU who is in charge of the operation. MAN expresses her love for SUM but is rejected. Supposing that SUM looks down on her due to her background as an ex-prostitute, MAN gets furious and stomps off in a rage. SUM is so disappointed in her. YAU is under great pressure from the press and the public. A video clip of the chaos has been uploaded to the web. POK watches the footage again and again and spots a suspicious-looking girl.… ...
POK opines that the crime scene is deliberately and carefully set as described in SUM’s novels. SIU-CHUNG’s car has been vandalized and YAU later finds out that it is done by BONNIE. BONNIE admits vandalizing SIU-CHUNG’s car but denies killing him. YAU carries out an investigation at SIU-CHUNG’s office and develops profound suspicions against SIU-CHUNG’s colleague BOWIE. TUNG and LUNG once again try to create opportunities for POK and YAU to hang out together, which embarrasses the pair no end. MAN claims that her computer is not functioning and she wants SUM to come to her home to have a look. SUM and MAN spot MAN’s neighbor Aunt HEI begging in the street. Knowing that HEI is not feeling well, SUM and MAN bring her to see a doctor before sending her home. HEI’s son LEE KWOK-WAI blames SUM and MAN for causing him to suffer a reduction in income and asks for compensation. HEI keels over and dies shortly afterwards.… ...
POK cannot face the problem between YAU and himself, about which he feels so frustrated. With a goal to create a homepage for SUM’s novels, MAN has enrolled on a computer course. On SUM’s recommendation, MAN secures a job at the Sun Magazine. MAN’s colleague TRACY is a young girl with paraplegia. She heads for Australia to receive a spine operation but the operation turns out to be unsuccessful. TRACY’s colleagues hold a party for her, to which SUM and TING are also invited. SUM and TING come along together and MAN is shocked to discover that they have been going out for a while. SIU-CHUNG’s ex-wife KONG WAN-KAM commits suicide with her son. YAU suspects that SIU-CHUNG has encouraged KAM to take her life so that he can take advantage of her suicide. SIU-CHUNG is held for questioning but he claims that the allegation is not true and that YAU is just trying to take revenge on him.… ...
TING stays up late to design a book cover for SUM’s latest novel, for which SUM feels so grateful. SUM and TING have bought a lot of food and are going to prepare a romantic meal at home. But most of the dishes prepared are overcooked and they end up having to make do with lunchboxes. LUNG would like to arrange a blind date for YAU. YAU has no choice but to reveal that she has been sort of going out with SIU-CHUNG. VIVIAN dies of a drug overdose. After a post-mortem examination, SUM finds that VIVIAN had undergone plastic surgery to sustain a perfect appearance when she was alive. WOON still cares about KIN despite their separation. The police suspect that KIN has killed VIVIAN and tried to make the murder look like a suicide. KIN is held for questioning, during which he explains the cause of the wounds on VIVIAN’s face and denies the accusation against him. Having tested WOON’s judgment, POK lets her carry on with the investigation.… ...
POK turns a deaf ear to the insults flung at him and manages to get a sample of HO’s saliva for a DNA test. YAU is astonished to hear the truth. KONG does not get mad when he knows that SUM is his rival in love. He is in fact a bit relieved that TING has found a man like SUM. HO’s uncle MOK WAI-TO is a successful merchant. He treats HO as his own son and therefore asks the lad to stay away from his mate and drug supplier PAUL. ELLA is devastated by the scandals. Feeling extremely stressed, she prefers not to sue HO. YAU suspects that it is a close relative of HO who has raped ELLA, although she has no evidence to prove it. With SUM’s help, YAU has got a sample of TO’s saliva. TO is found to be the real rapist. TO is held for questioning but he refuses to say a word throughout the process. TO is shocked to hear that HO falls to his death in a rave party.… ...
The next day when he wakes up, POK is shocked to recall what he has done to YAU. YAU is not aware that POK was drugged before having sex with her. POK feels so thirsty and is slow to react. SUM points out that it is not a normal physical response. POK provides a sample of urine for a test and traces of drugs are detected. POK urges the police to conduct a thorough search of the pub and a large amount of controlled drugs are later seized from the pub during the operation. YAU is thrilled to bits as she believes that she and POK have moved a big step forward. KONG is back in Hong Kong but is shocked to hear that TING has got a new boyfriend. POK tells YAU what he thinks and YAU tries to calm herself down when listening. KONG goes to confide in SUM about his relationship with TING, after which SUM tries as best as he can to avoid TING.… ...
BONG is held for questioning and MI knows the secret cannot be kept any longer. She reveals the truth to the police and CHUNG is roundly condemned for what he did. KIT decides to close CHUNG’s business while KONG and YAU persuade LUNG to retire. SUM notices that POK and YAU have a high regard for each other. TING discovers that WOON has a perfect understanding of POK, which makes her believe that they must have been dating for a while. YAU falls sick. Since KONG and LUNG are out of town for their holiday, POK offers to look after YAU at home. TING has a talk with SUM about POK’s love life. She mistakenly believes that POK has been two-timing WOON with another girl. SUM asks POK for an explanation when he gets back home. POK states that he is not yet ready for a new relationship. WOON asks POK out for dinner. She is all dressed up and seems to have dropped POK a hint.… ...
LUNG is arrested on suspicion of killing CHUNG. He denies the accusation and is so worked up that he has an asthma attack during the detention. POK gives LUNG step-by-step guidance through the search for clues and eventually manages to find a witness who can provide an alibi for LUNG. LUNG is found to be innocent in the end. SUM finds a coin and a few strands of Tibetan antelope hair inside CHUNG’s mouth. He believes that CHUNG is killed in a swimming pool. POK and his team conduct a further investigation based on the evidence available. POK discovers that movie star KAM HOI-CHIU is pregnant with CHUNG’s baby and that CHIU’s sister is the girlfriend of CHUNG’s Feng Shui master WAN TIN-KEI. Given the complicated relationship among CHIU, CHUNG and KEI, POK begins to become suspicious of CHIU and KEI. TING has a spicy-food eating contest with SUM as promised. SUM knows TING cannot really stand the spicy food.… ...
YAU has been too protective of KONG and has got her brother firmly under her thumb. POK realizes this and by stratagem, he manages to change the way she treats KONG. YAU and POK have respectively made an effort to buy TUNG some Cantonese-opera albums so that he can amuse himself in his home village. CHUNG’s house is burgled. With the clues left behind, POK tracks down the thief and CHUNG is able to recover the stolen antiques right away. POK discovers that CHUNG’s antiques are all fakes. TUNG passes YAU a collection of soup recipes and reminds her that POK is a soup lover, about which POK and YAU do not know whether to laugh or cry. TING is very fond of SUM. Knowing that SUM is a big fan of spicy food, TING challenges him to an eating competition. CHUNG promotes LUNG to the post of General Manager at his trading company, through which he hopes to pass all the bad luck to LUNG.… ...
HIU-TUNG knocks CHEUNG about and beats him up. He admits his guilt and threatens to kill another victim in front of CHEUNG. CHEUNG struggles to untie himself in an attempt to save the innocent girl, but in vain. CHEUNG gets stabbed by HIU-TUNG. In the nick of time, YAU and a team of police officers come along and manage to subdue HIU-TUNG with a gunshot. CHEUNG dies of severe injuries. HIU-TUNG claims that CHEUNG is the real murderer. He manages to explain away his suspicious behavior but POK insists that the evidence will speak for itself. WOON cannot get over the distress caused by divorce and would like to offer her resignation. POK shows concern for WOON and gives her a few words of encouragement. POK and WOON find a strong piece of evidence at HIU-TUNG’s home, which supports the charge against the villain. The police’s success in this case makes WOON change her mind. LUNG’s younger brother LEUNG HING-CHUNG believes in Feng Shui.… ...
YAU asks CHEUNG why he had to dig through HIU-TUNG’s rubbish but CHEUNG does not answer. She tells CHEUNG why she has been putting up with him and reveals that it was he who made her decide to become a police officer. CHEUNG does not respond to what he hears, which disappoints YAU greatly. After serious consideration, CHEUNG goes to see YAU and brings her back to his home, where he reveals to YAU how HIU-TUNG has ruined his life. He believes that HIU-TUNG is the real rapist and murderer. CHEUNG seeks YAU’s permission to continue to follow up the case so that he can catch the villain with his own hands. YAU then turns to POK for help. POK points out that if HIU-TUNG is the real murderer, he must have committed similar offences over all these years. He advises YAU to approach Interpol for further information. CHEUNG has become a different man and has a very good attitude towards his work, which surprises every member of his team.… ...
POK wants TUNG to live with him so that TUNG can be better looked after. TUNG however would like to move back to his home village to enjoy a quiet life, which is what his wife was longing for when she was still alive. POK understands and supports TUNG’s decision. A guy named CHENG HIU-TUNG discovers a dead young woman when he goes for a morning run with his friend. POK and his team come to conduct a forensic investigation but unfortunately the evidence around has all been contaminated by the mud and the rain. YAU needs CHEUNG to follow up this case but CHEUNG asks to go on leave with dozens of excuses. YAU learns from the forensic test results that the semen left in the victim FONG OI-SHAN’s body contains no sperms. They detain a suspect for questioning and DNA extraction. YAU is informed that CHEUNG is almost knocked down by HIU-TUNG’s car and that HIU-TUNG gets beaten up by CHEUNG after the near-miss accident.… ...
The police arrive at CHING’s home for investigation. They discover that CHING is in fact the missing YUNG WAI and that she has been staying in Hong Kong with a fake Identity Card. YUNG WAI and her boyfriend RED are taken in for questioning, during which RED admits killing FUNG SIU-FA, a friend of YUNG WAI from her days in China. He points out that FA and YUNG WAI look very much alike, which then leads to the misunderstanding that YUNG WAI is the victim. POK concludes from the evidence that RED has been lying, so YUNG WAI has no choice but to reveal the truth. YUNG regrets coming to Hong Kong. She did not expect that her search for YUNG WAI would eventually cause her to be imprisoned. YAU and her staff try to console YUNG with some words of encouragement. YAU comments on the plot of a detective novel written by SUM, which draws them into an argument.… ...
POK points out that the victim could be YUNG WAI. He decides to try one more experiment and asks YUNG for further information of YUNG WAI. SUM cannot extract DNA from the skull for identity verification but will make another attempt with the teeth. SUM tries his best to seek YAU’s forgiveness and finally makes up with her. TING and KONG try to find out how the victim was killed based on the evidence available. POK questions their assumption, which provides them with a new direction for further investigation. The police express doubts about the statements provided by Mr. and Mrs. CHEUNG, the distant relatives of YUNG WAI who put her up during her stay in Hong Kong. They find at the couple’s home a few specks of blood left by YUNG WAI. Mr. and Mrs. CHEUNG are then held in custody. Knowing that TUNG’s working environment is not so good, POK urges him to resign to enjoy a happy retirement. Despite what POK says, TUNG has got his own plan.… ...
FANNY admits that she has been dating WAI for a while and that she has had a fight with him upon discovering that he has stolen her money. POK and SUM feel that things have become more and more complicated and they hope to find out the lethal weapon and the real murderer as soon as possible. Later they happen to discover the truth behind the case. MAN regrets being with WAI and decides to go back home to live with HING. SUM notices that YAU has been too protective of KONG. To broaden KONG’s horizons, SUM offers to take the lad to a pub for a drink. A sexy girl comes to chat KONG up in the pub. KONG gets drugged by the girl and lies unconscious in the street with all his money stolen. SUM tries to cover up the truth for KONG but YAU is smart enough to realize that he is telling a pack of lies. YAU is furious with both of them.… ...
POK believes that WAI is killed at home after a fight with someone and that his body is moved from the scene later on. YAU’s staff are worried that HO WING-CHEUNG, the least-liked member of the police, will be transferred to their team. YAU would like to reject the transfer request at first but she changes her mind as soon as she has read through CHEUNG’s personal files. Concerned about staff morale, YAU also gives her team a few words of consolation. MAN recovers from unconsciousness and denies killing WAI. Laboratory test results show that MAN’s mother HING has had a fight with WAI but HING denies that she has killed WAI. SUM discovers a deep wound in WAI’s skull although he cannot find a lethal weapon which matches the size and shape of the wound. CHEUNG is late on the day he reports for duty. Later he even skives off work to buy some snacks and leaves his wallet in the crime scene, which irks his fellow colleagues beyond measure.… ...
With their best effort, SUM and YAU have finally found the cake box concerned as evidence. YAU finds some cantharidin at YUK’s home, but YUK’s husband TSU TIN insists that his wife is innocent. YUK awakes from her coma and reveals what she knows. POK blames YUK for her ignorance that has led to YIU’s death. POK always says that it is important to be fair in whatever circumstances but SUM points out that he cannot really maintain this attitude when facing TUNG. POK can finally lay his prejudice aside and invites TUNG to join him in visiting his mother’s tomb. TUNG understands that POK has serious doubts about his mother’s death. Finally he reveals the truth to POK and the misunderstanding between them is cleared right away. As encouraged by TING, PUI tries to patch up her relationship with POK but POK, unfortunately, is not prepared to fall in love again.… ...
TUNG and PUI are deeply saddened by the death of YIU although they believe that this is somewhat a way out for POK. Madam YUK, who looked after YIU in the hospital when she was still alive, gets poisoned and falls unconscious after taking a bite of the cake given by YIU. SUM is shocked to find some cantharidin (a poisonous chemical compound used in Traditional Chinese Medicine) in the cake. Laboratory test results show that YIU was poisoned continuously for a certain period of time, which makes SUM believe that POK may have something to do with YIU’s death. YAU suspects that POK and PUI have rekindled their relationship. She becomes even more suspicious when she spots PUI burning the letter from POK. Given all the circumstantial evidence, she decides to hold POK and PUI for questioning. TING believes that POK and PUI are innocent. To prove PUI’s innocence, POK needs TING to find out where her sister has gone over these days.… ...
YAU comes along to arrest BLACK YIU. BLACK YIU pushes TUNG, who happens to pass by, down to the ground while escaping but is captured eventually. TUNG is required to have a medical examination, during which he is diagnosed with cataract. YAU and SUM offer to send TUNG home. YAU points out that POK is not a dutiful son. SUM tells YAU about his past and reveals that the reason he participates in voluntary youth work is that he wants to fulfill YIU’s wish and dream. YIU urges POK to go and watch the drama performance with PUI on her behalf. POK points out that there is insufficient evidence to charge BLACK YIU. POK and YAU become suspicious of LUI YAU-KUEN who has come to post bail for BLACK YIU. Through close collaboration, POK and YAU finally manage to track down the real culprit. SUM pays TUNG a visit, where he bumps into YAU. The three of them then decide to visit YIU together.… ...
POK is very rude to TUNG, which shocks everyone around to the core. TUNG has bought YIU some herbal products but POK does not seem very grateful at all. Having noticed the problem between them, SUM goes to have a talk with POK. YIU and POK run into a long-lost friend Dr. LAM PUI-PUI at the hospital, who has recently returned from the States. A rush of mixed feelings come over them when they get face-to-face again after all these years. PUI and POK used to be an item. POK tells PUI that he knows from the very start that TING is her sister. WOON discovers from SUM a questionable point in the child abuse case. The mother finally admits abusing her daughter CHAN SHAN-SHAN. SUM tries to save a problem teenage girl CHIU SUET-MAN but is alleged to have sexually harassed her. Fortunately YAU believes SUM and he can therefore stay away from trouble.… ...
YAU takes SING back to the scene for a reconstruction of the murder. As she is questioning SING, POK comes along and recovers the diamonds hidden inside the fish tank. There is strong evidence against SING and he has no choice but to admit what he has done. YAU’s boyfriend is in love with someone else and will be getting married overseas. YAU tries to suppress the pain of being dumped and joins a celebration party with her staff. After the gathering, she goes to a pub for a drink, where she meets SUM. Knowing about her recent break-up with her boyfriend, SUM tries to offer her a few words of comfort. POK is impressed by TING’s excellent observation skills and decides to offer her the job. Someone is killed by a brick thrown from a height. TING follows POK to the scene for an investigation.… ...
SUM points out that they have to keep a clear head to make a fair judgment while looking for the murderer, and YAU is finally convinced. TSAU claims that he was involved in a car theft when the murder took place, which is proved to be true after YAU’s investigation. YAU blames the owner of the stolen car for putting up with the thieves again and again. KOO CHAK-YIU, POK’s wife and SUM’s elder sister, was paralyzed in a car crash years ago. POK and SUM are astonished to hear that YIU is suffering from liver cancer. SUM used to be a problem teenager but YIU’s desperate attempt to save him touched him deeply and changed his whole life. SUM feels so sorry for YIU and wonders why fate is so cruel to her. POK cannot do anything but give him a few words of consolation. SUM discovers that the murderer has been hiding something. Immediately he goes and explains to YAU his views and analysis.… ...
LAM TING-TING gets injured while trying to save an old lady, in the course of which she happens to discover a dreadful murder of four members of the same family. Senior Chemist of the Forensic Science Division KO YIN-POK arrives at the scene. From the bloodstains on the ground he infers that there is still at least a survivor. TING admires him so much for his intelligence and extraordinary powers of observation. Senior Inspector LEUNG SIU-YAU, who has been newly transferred to the Regional Crime Unit, believes that the murderer was aiming for the diamonds kept in the house owner TAM TAK’s safe. POK tries to catch up with the garbage truck to look for the murder weapon. YAU checks out the registration number of the truck and informs POK immediately. POK finally manages to find a knife and some other evidence in the refuse dump. YAU follows Forensic Pathologist KOO CHAK-SUM to the mortuary for the autopsy.… ...
