Fien and Tom believe he's actually close to nailing the gang. Indeed he wins Rodrigo's trust, but brutish Dimitri is jealous.
While Guy and Annick Van Dijck are shopping independently in a mall, her two year-old son Robbe disappears, presumably kidnapped in his pram. Divorced father Jurgen Matthys is a rich entrepreneur, but no ransom is claimed, while he insists Annick's latest ex Michael Torfs must be a pedophile. Tom ignores the missing persons unit's jurisdiction. Commissioner Dani stands in as his partner now pregnant Fien is on desk duty. Suddenly Jurgen's sacked employee Dorien Vervoort turns up, claiming she has the toddler. Meanwhile Mike's moonlighting proves dangerous for him and ...
Tom's investigation of an apparent suicide soon focuses on a dodgy dentist. Meanwhile Tom assumes Lucas hired a P.I. to spy on him as part of his dirty divorce, but learns Lucas nobly puts his kids' interest first while the real culprit can't even offer a motive.
Wealthy investment broker Paul Dewachter, who just invited Frederik for a hare dinner as new member of his investment club Croesus, finds his beloved Persian cat Arsalan skinned at home. Later a bomb explodes in his car. Tom discovers the at first sight happy family is a mess, including son Kristof, a cocaine addict. Bad investments have terrible consequences. Lucas accepts his boys want their mother and accepts a divorce. Fien considers what to do with Brik's baby.
Geoffrey 'King of Skate' Brouckaert makes a fatal fall during one of his daring stunts. Contractor Antoine Vermeer already has Geoffrey's rival Stan 'The Lord' Van Avermaet roughed up for intruding his construction site but has an alibi. Stan runs for the police, which leads to a crash landing him in hospital, but also has an alibi. Tom dares CSI Lucas for forensic evidence in the case and his lover's. When Fien tells her undercover lover Brik Delsing she's pregnant, he bluntly demands an abortion. Jimmy and amused Mike handle the case of Wouter Van Belle and his ex's...
While Peter Bruylands jogs in the Antwerp city park with his wife Barbara Van Dijck, his eyes are suddenly stabbed out by a masked assailant, who looses epilepsy pills while fleeing, apparently having failed to slit Peter's throat. While Jimmy and Mike stand guard at blinded Peter's hospital room, press photographer Ben Rijpens is allowed an interview. He tells how his son Jasper first lost the ability and later died after an accident and suddenly pierces Peter's ears, then escapes. Miranda Kuipers points out her daughter, photographer Anna, also has eyes and ears cut...
Two accomplices help Marc Vercruysse escape from a convict transport, perhaps the never recovered loot of a robbery five years ago. Guy checks on his disloyal girlfriend, Marc's brother Dirk, their mother and presumed gang mates, but several are killed shortly after. Back from his LA forensic training, Lucas Neefs learns Kathy cheated on him with Guy and keeps his boys from her, while the atmosphere at the precinct is grimly tainted. Mike is injured physically and Jimmy verbally while they investigate churchyard vandalism, but also save OD victim Davy Huybrechts.
A possibly fake motorbike pizza deliverer beats Herman De Bruin cripple with an iron bar. Same MO fails to hurt nightclub bouncer Berre Verdonck. Openly promiscuous gay Sylvain Bosteels however is beaten to death. He extorted many small businesses by raising rent on the buildings he owned and accepted 'payment in kind' by hunky debtors, or in ugly pizzeria-owner Willy Peeters's case suggested his sexy son and deliverer Kevin. Tom meanwhile worries about his ma's possibly reviving affair with limping first-ever lover Marcel, and finds an apparent link.
Catholic curate René Delandsheer reports the theft of his parish church's valuable black Madonna. Most mentioned suspect is rascal Dede, of African descent. Shortly after, the boy is found under the bell tower after a fatal fall. But it was a mere fall down the stairs that killed him, so probably covered-up murder. After an old secret is found out, a confession is made, which Tom firmly disbelieves. Meanwhile Mike and Jimmy hunt down a fake uniformed cop.
Sandrine Pauwels Pauwel throws out her husband Bert Nijs's things and him, then claims 40 year-old surgery professor Han Wuyts's car, which hits Bert on the road right there, meant to kill, although he got fatally injured himself. His widow, nurse Margot, denies he knew Bert and knows no enemies, nor did Han care for art, although his trunk contains a valuable painting by Lievens. His death cleared the way for his assistant Johan Beunis to be promoted and his anesthetist Vincent De Belder to run for rector (university chancellor). Autopsy shows his ribs were ...
