The band MDO is scheduled to be Principal for a day and Taina is suspicious that Alex, the lead singer, is an imposter.
Taina and Renee have to join forces with Maritza to perform at a special event. The girls have to learn to stop fighting over what to do and work together.
Taina gets a new mobile phone and sells her old one to Renee, but when her old phone breaks, the girls friendship is tested.
Taina is determined to do whatever it takes to land a role playing Robert DeNiro's daughter in an upcoming film.
Taina auditions for a soap opera and finds herself consumed with jealousy when Santito is cast instead.
While directing a theater piece at school, things spiral out of control once Taina lets her friends pitch in. Eventually, Taina must confront her friends in order to save the play—and her reputation!
While Lamar and Daniel become obsessed over a video game, Taina does battle with her self-confidence. She relies on a new bracelet she thinks is magical to get her through a tough audition, but when she loses it just before she tries out for the part, there's only one person she can lean on—herself.
Things go from bad to worse for Taina. First she fails a Spanish exam, and then she gets a love letter in Spanish from Papito's nephew—and she can't even read it! Meanwhile, Lamar desperately tries to escape a girl who has a crush on him.
Lamar and Daniel get a chance to be radio DJs, and Taina spends herself into a little bind. She blows all the money she won in a contest and, when her parents refuse to pay for a class trip, she has to figure out how to raise the cash herself.
It's Taina's 15th birthday, and Mom has picked out a beautiful traditional dress for her to wear on her quinceanero. Taina, however, has another idea...
Taina is overjoyed after joining the most popular singing group at school—until the other girls in the group tell her she has to get rid of Renee. Daniel loses a bet and has to join the school's losing basketball team.
Taina learns that acting isn't about action sequences and tough-cop one-liners. After a disappointing response to her Jennifer López-inspired tough-gal, Taina regroups with a portrayal of Joan of Arc. Thanks in part to encouragement from her friends and family. Her mother is played by real-life 80s pop diva, Lisa Lisa. Remembering when she came from Puerto Rico as a little girl who knew no English, Taina's mother tells her the new language sounded like nonsense. Her own mother's words gave her strength, she tells Taina, ""You're a Latina, you have strong blood.""
