Short Cuts was an Australian children's television series that first screened on the Seven Network in 2001. The 26-episode series was aimed at teenagers. It was financed by the Australian Film Finance Corporation and Burberry Productions. The series was subsequently repeated on the youth-oriented network ABC3 in March and April 2011.

The big day is looming and there are wedding jitters for Mr Long and Miss Petersen. When the kids find out that Miss Petersen has landed a job in Greenland they decide to stop the wedding.
The class heads into the bush for the school camp. No one is very keen apart from Ruth and Kurt who see it as a chance to sneak off together and Mr Long who will be able to spend time with Miss Petersen.
Led by Sophie, the class stages a sit-in. Everyone is prepared to take part - except Ross, he has an important soccer match.
The class has been getting complaints about their programming of the student TV channel so they decide to create an original film for broadcast.
Oscar's sister comes home for an anti-uranium demonstration. Her mother is going to join in but Oscar and his dad want them to keep out of trouble.
Fiona is having a birthday and she wants a more grown-up party that doesn't include the boys from the Media Studies class. Fiona is inviting her Year 11 boyfriend and his mates - it proves to be a disastrous move.
Kurt's mother returns home after a seven-year absence and the boy is transformed. The sullen face is gone and a smile has replaced it. No one can believe the change - especially Ruth when Kurt invites her out.
It is clear that the twins depend too much on each other so Mr Long proposes a test. They must each make a video without the help of the other.
Mrs Bartlett has finally given her permission for the student channel to go to air, but it isn't easy sailing getting the station up and running.
With Anna still gravely ill in hospital an election is held to replace her as Head of Form. Both Sophie and Ruth put themselves forward as candidates - setting up the two for an interesting battle.
The school dance is coming up and Fiona is holding dance lessons. Her only two students are Ross and Oscar and they both want to impress and be her date for the dance.
The class is determined to change Mrs Bartlett's mind about the student TV station and plan to put together a promo tape to show her just what they have in mind.
The new term begins with a new Kurt showing his holiday video - a film of student revolution. Ross is motivated and decides to stand for Student Representative Council.
The end of term is approaching and everyone is looking forward to the holiday. The class organises an awards night with the winner of the best film getting to take the camera home for the holidays.
The class is led on a merry chase when the twins steal the class video camera and hold it to ransom.
Directing his first film script proves to be a much harder job than Oscar imagined. The cast wants to rewrite the script and can't agree on Oscar's image of the characters.
Kurt's video of his elderly neighbour, Mrs Green, begins as a joke. He wants to hurt the old lady by making her seem stupid, but the more time he spends with her the more he gets to like her.
Kurt is jigging school ever since Ruth's video and he needs to hand in his video assignment. His next door neighbour, Mrs. Green volunteers to be his subject even though he hates her.
Ruth's mum makes her go on a diet with her because she thinks she is gaining weight. Little does she know that she's pregnant. Ruth however breaks the diet by eating food from her friends.
Oscar is sick of the twins bullying him all the time and decides to take action. Ruth also wants some attention from Kurt by making a personal video of him at home which ends in disaster.
Laz Papasavas is moving out of home for three weeks and Ross is enjoying the smothering by his mum until she takes it too far.
The twins, Tim and Tom witness a car accident and videotape it thinking it is funny to put sound effects as well however, Sophie doesn't find it funny since she lost her dad in the accident that put her in the wheelchair.
Mr. Long gets the whole class to do a nature video after Ross disses Anna's nature video in front of the class.
Ruth and Fiona finally make amends after their fight when they go to an International Oyster gig. Ross is no longer able to blackmail Oscar due to him knowing his little secret.
Ross wants someone to film his soccer match after school and asks his mate, Sophie, to help him out however they end up fighting because Ross accidentally tips her out of her wheelchair.
Oscar and the rest start school on the first day. Fiona and Ruth want to make a video of Laz Papasavas however Fiona embarrasses herself and no longer speaks to Ruth.
