Wheeler Dealers Trading Up Season 1 Full Episode Guide
In the season finale, Mike travels to the Middle East, hoping that his final trades will help him reach the motoring jackpot. But his Camaro is stuck out on the ocean and he struggles to find a way to trade his way out of trouble.
Mike heads out West to Mexico City, teaming up with car dealer Carlos he discovers that Mexico is the home away from home of the VW Beetle. Having turned good money he heads North to the USA where he buys a British classic and turns the biggest profit of the series. He takes the well-earned cash and invests in a classic in tip top condition – a one lady owner from new 1967 Chevrolet Camaro.
Mike arrives in Japan and immediately realizes it’s all about ‘small is beautiful’. The ‘Kei car’ sums up this attitude to life and is probably the smallest car he’s ever bought and sold. In Japan, car dealing is done in volume – it’s all about shifting the units digitally over cyber auctions. Mike works hard to overcome a huge culture clash and faces huge frustration as his profits melt away when his classic Toyota breaks down on Mount Fuji.
Mike chooses to visit Sweden because there is a big market for American cars. But can he make the leap from pick-up truck to an iconic Volvo sports coupe, and get closer to his $30,000 goal? Along the way he has the drive of his life in a full contact offroad car race and he buys and sells a true Swedish beauty - a Saab 96.
Mike returns to the UK to find a buyer for his imported Hindustan Ambassador, giving him the opportunity to then trade up to a Triumph Spitfire and Land Rover Defender. His final deal entails a left hand drive US car to export.
Mike begins his adventure in India, where he trades his way up from a tiny hatchback, to an estate, until Mike finds his way into a Hindustan Ambassador. Built continuously for over 70 years, it is based on the classic Morris Oxford. Mike believes the Ambassador captures the spirit of India and an ideal basis for a tidy profit back in the UK.
