Pati takes a decidedly different direction in Season Three. While her bold Mexican flavors and insightful knowledge of the stories behind them continue to guide the shows, Pati takes viewers more deeply into her native country and her own home in Washington, DC, and family life. Pati brings viewers along as she reconnects with her father in his restaurant in downtown Mexico City and her oldest sister in the restaurant she runs in another area of Mexico City. She also travels to the state of Michoacan, where she eats her way through Quiroga, “the Carnitas Capital of the World,” meets Butterfly Net Fishermen in Patzcuaro, visits women chefs in their restaurants in the state’s capital, Morelia, and more. She also lets us in on more of her day-to-day home life with regular appearances by her family and friends.

Episode 13 - My Pinata Party

Watermelon, tomatillo and mozzarella skewers with mint-agave syrup; red pozole with garnishes; mixed melon, lime and coconut agua fresca; tres leches and strawberry Mexican gelatin dessert. What better way to end the season than with a big party? Pati throws a neighborhood bash and cooks up the easiest and best Mexican-themed dishes that would be a huge hit at any party. And what better accessory to a Mexican fiesta than a giant piñata? Pati also gets the chance to visit a piñata maker in the central market of Morelia.

Episode 12 - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Honey chipotle ribs; spinning top cocktail; mango guacamole with grilled tortilla wedges; grilled romaine and red bell peppers with ancho chili vinaigrette and cheese. Pati invites a few of her girlfriends over for a much needed “girls’ night in.” But these girls are here to GRILL! Pati travels to Mexico City to reconnect with her father and help him cook one of her favorite childhood meals: Huevos a la Mexicana. Back in her own kitchen, she’ll use that visit as inspiration to cook a few dishes that she remembers fondly from childhood, and then pass on the tradition by cooking dessert with her youngest son Juju.
