"Terra Nova" is about to start another campaign in the North Sea. The cod ship travels through the icy waters of the Labrador during a bad fishing year. As cod is scarce, Captain Silva decides to sail to Greenland, a route never before sailed by the lugres. Despite Silva's iron pulse, the Captain is unable to avoid a riot that compromises the purpose of the trip, pitting men against men, in a conflict that surprises Bernardo (Vítor D'Andrade), a doctor who makes his first trip and feels divided between solidarity with fishermen and respect for authority.
