Through a series of diary entries, Tian learns about Torfun's life, secrets, interests, as well as her promise to count a thousand stars with Chief forest officer Phupha. Tian, as the new volunteer teacher, attempts to befriend Phupha, but the latter is initially cold to him. As the two slowly grow closer, Tian's heart beats fast around the military officer, and he starts to fall for him, much like his heart's previous owner did. A Tale of Thousand Stars Season 1 Full Episode Guide
The day arrives for Tian to return to Bangkok. As he adjusts back to his old lifestyle, he still thinks of Phupha and the village leading him to question his desire to finish his engineering degree.
Tian discovers that Phupha knows his father causing him to question their relationship. Phupha pushes Tian to return home after a New Year's party hosted by the village.
As the repairs to the school house are completed, Tian finds the courage to reveal his secret to the villagers of Pha Pun Dao.
After Tian's recovery, Phupha invites him to move in together for his protection from Sakda's thugs.
With the local merchants refusing to buy Pha Pun Dao tea leaves, Tian searches for a way to help the villagers avoid selling their tea to Mr. Sakda
Tian joins Nam for a trip into the city where he meets up with his old friend, Tul. While in the city, Tian meets a powerful local, Mr. Sakda.
The village celebrates a wedding. Tian seizes an opportunity to get Phupha to escort him to the Pha Pun Dao cliff.
Feeling out of place and of little use, Tian devotes himself to cultivating a strong relationship with the Phu Phan Dao villagers. From them, he learns new skills and ways. While assisting them in their tea trade, Tian discovers the merchants they trade with are ripping them off. A confrontation ensues and things get violent. After all the progress he made, Tian feels he's somehow betrayed the villagers by instigating a fight and ruined their newfound friendship.
Tian's first day as a teacher doesn't go well. After being embarrassed by Chief Phupha in front of his students, he's unable to keep the children's attention and is later snubbed by the villagers. When events continue to spiral out of his control, Tian begins to question his fitness to his post.
Tian, the son of a high profile officer, receives an emergency heart transplant surgery. When his donor's identity is concealed from him, he's driven to great lengths to discover her identity and manages to recover a notebook that might otherwise have been forgotten. Torfun was a volunteer teacher who died in a traffic collision. From her journal, Tian learns about her life in Phu Phan Dao, a village on the country's northern border. Something about her notebook inspires Tian to take up Torfun's position at the school himself.
