There, she learns for the first time that her mother was a legendary potter, and is consequently pulled into the world of pottery.

Having submitted her piece, Himeno is filled with relief, albeit only for a brief moment: remembering Tokishirou's reaction to the chazuke bowl, she can't stop thinking about the judges' decisions because she wants to have another chance at truly filling her father's heart with joy. Today's finally the day. After being impressed by all the creative pieces, it's finally time for the award ceremony of the contest...
Now that Himeno settled on the shape of the cushion, she now has to pick the color. However, the vast number of colors overwhelms her and she gets stuck. Seeing that, Naoko grabs Himeno and takes her to a special spot...
Now that she had the idea of making a ceramic cushion, Himeno's head is completely occupied with the topic. Flustered by the looming deadline of the contest, she has an eureka moment for making the perfect cushion while braiding Mika's hair. How will that ceramic cushion turn out?
The hot, hot summer of Tajimi has arrived, and Himeno, Mika, Naoko, and Touko have a blast in the river trying to catch eel! Then suddenly a kappa appears before them and takes them down to Ryūgū-jō. Inside Ryūgū-jō, a certain person in the form of their high school self is awaiting them...
Himeno still doesn't have a good idea what to make for the contest. When she asks her father, Tokishirou, he gives her the following advice: "I don't know what it is, but I just want to create something! That feeling is important." After hearing that, Himeno gets an idea. What will it be?
The members of the pottery club start preparing for the Mino ware contest. Himeno is still agonizing about what to make when the club advisor Mami asks her to help in an old school building. On the way there, beckoned by a strange tune the wind was playing, Himeno discovers a huge ceramic monument...
All done with their mock exams, the Himeno-Naoko-Mika trio spot their pottery club advisor Mami by the train station and impulsively decide to tail her. They pass through a forest, walk by a lake and finally reach a mountain. Where exactly is Mami going?!
Himeno accidentally broke her dad's favorite rice bowl. She decides that she "will make a perfect bowl for dad!" and begins her work. With the help of Touko and the others she manages to complete her project, but for some reason Himeno doesn't look so happy...
While Himeno is engrossed in pottery, Touko yells at Mika for loudly playing with Naoko. Mika then rushes out of the clubhouse, and in her absence, Touko confesses that she admires Mika for having such a free-spirited imagination, something she herself lacks...
After joining the pottery club, Himeno is uncertain if she can make pottery. Touko and Mika then show the novice Himeno that pottery and ceramics are widely used in all sorts of manners all over town. She realizes that pottery is not that forbidding, and that she's always surrounded by it!
On her first day in high school, Himeno introduces herself to the class by lining up the mugs her late mother made. Her classmate Mika knows her mothers works, so she takes her to the pottery club. Taken in by the smell of the clay she shouldn't know yet, Himeno goes in for her first attempt at pottery.
