Maharaja Lawak Mega 2017 has returned again with the theme "Empire of Lawak" and features 15 joke pirates from 3 countries namely Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia to find another new champion comparable to the previous champions namely Osbon (2011), Jozan (2012), Sepahtu (2013), Zero (2014) and Bocey (2016). In this edition, two former champions namely Zero and Bocey also competed again on the MLM 2017 stage. Starting 17 February 2017, every Friday on Astro Warna (132) and Astro Mustika HD (134) channels.

Theme was "Very Persuasive Words with guest artists" who were Jaafar Onn (Shiro), Nadia Brian (Nice), Issey Fadzlisham (Dzawin), Adam Corrie (Bocey), Elly Mazlein (Puteh), Ozlynn Waty (Zero), Farahdhiya (Abioso), Dato' M. Daud Kilau (XOXO), Syamel (Masin), and Lilian Tan (Joras). Acong Nice was selected Man of the Match. XOXO was eliminated.
