Carlos receives the Princess of Asturias Award in recognition of his entire career and his values in sport. In an emotional speech, Sainz reflects on his career and the education of his children. During the speech, he praises the figure of his wife, Reyes. While closely following his son’s career, he recalls his last years in the World Rally Championship and his arrival at the Dakar.
Carlos trains in Majorca and recalls his years with Colin McRae and their intense rally battles. Subaru was his first disappointment in rallying, the last one coming in ’98 with the incident in the last meters of the RAC. A life lesson for his son on his arrival in F1. The years in which Carlos Sainz won his two World Rally Championships and started to become a legend: He is the Matador. Carlos’ family, especially Reyes, his wife, fear danger.
