Hidden Wonders of Europe Season 1 Full Episode Guide
Few of Europe’s countries boast the wide and wondrous variety of animals found in Greece. Its mainland is dubbed the ’Serengeti of Europe’, while the coast is home to Europe’s largest marine reserve. Greece is a land brimming with natural treasures. Hidden hunters feast on migrating birds, a scorpion searches for his soulmate, and young seal pups venture out into the unknown.
Europe’s ancient landscapes have virtually disappeared, but some stretches remain. A rich mosaic of habitats still cover the country of Poland. Lush forests, vast lowlands and mountain peaks all team with life. But the wildlife here has to fight to survive. Sea eagles battle over breakfast, seasoned hunters adapt to extreme conditions, and a crafty caterpillar pulls off the ultimate heist.
The parched lands of the Iberian Peninsula give rise to snow-covered peaks, expanses of rare cork oak, and Europe’s only fog forest. Unique habitats, where species found nowhere else on earth fight for survival. Male Iberian Ibex face-off over females, a whiskered tern chick braves predator-infested waters, and settling the score for the Macaques of Gibraltar calls for kidnap.
Germany is Europe’s most populous nation. A land hewn by mighty rivers and cloaked in forest. In these wild spaces, nature is full of surprises. From the Bavarian mountains to the North Sea, over a third of the country is now protected. Huge Grey Seals battle to breed, Marmots and Squirrels flee aerial invaders, and elusive Lynx and Moose - once hunted out - re-assert their grip.
