Rail Away Season 13 Full Episode Guide
The famous narrow-gauge network of the Peloponnese is located on the peninsula in southern Greece. A journey from the cradle of the Olympic Games - Olympia - across the coastal plain from Achia to Patra, the country's third largest city.
Interlaken - Wilderswil - Zweilütschinen - Grindelwald - Kleine Scheidegg - Jungfraujoch The 2nd part of the journey with the Jungfraubahnen. From Interlaken we take the Bernese Obertland lift to Grindelwald, the start of the Wengernalp lift. After that the train seems to crawl up along the grim walls of the Eiger, until the switch is made again at Kleine Scheidegg. Via the 6 kilometer long tunnel, the travelers are taken to the highest station in Europe at 3,450 meters with the overwhelming view of glaciers and mountain tops.
Interlaken - Wilderswil - Schynige Platte - Zweilütschinen - Lauterbrunnen - Mürren The center of the Bernese Oberland is Interlaken and therefore the starting point for all kinds of trips in the area. In this episode we travel with nostalgic locomotives at a speed of 7 kilometers per hour to the Schynige Platte, a beautiful vantage point over the region. Then on to the Bernese Oberlandbahn to Lauterbrunnen and from there to Mürren, the balcony for a stunning view of the Eiger and Jungfrau.
Germany: Munich - Tegernsee
Italy: Perugia - Rome
Nîmes - Alès - Grand Combe - Villefort - Langeac A train journey on the shortest rail link between Paris and Marseille with the Cevénol Express. This line was built in the 19th century along the Allier River by the Massif Central. More than 100 tunnels and viaducts were constructed in this wild and poorly accessible area. This makes this train journey from Nimes to Langeac a good way to discover this part of France.
The Sørlandsbane is the railway line, which runs along the Norwegian south coast from Stavanger to Oslo and whose construction lasted 66 years. We take the train to Kristiansand, the first part of which runs along the sea and fjords. Then the track goes more inland through higher mountain ridges. Kilometers of tunnels largely determine the image of this spectacular train journey, which is a continuous alternation of peaks and valleys of the Norwegian landscape.
Newcastle – Hexham – Carlisle – Lancaster
