A social drama set in the 1920s in Damascus. It highlights Damascene life, noble values, and ancient customs and traditions represented by the people of Harat al-Dabeh who fled to Harat al-Salihiyah after the French bombed Harat al-Dabeh. The events take place after the gold is stolen from the house of the cloth merchant Abu Ibrahim, and the guard Abu al-Samu is killed. The men of the neighborhood try to find the thief.

Sam'u gets Sobhy released. Abu Siyah kills Hamdy when he discovers that he is the spy. Abu Shehab aids the revolutionaries. When the English officers raid the neighborhood, the neighborhood's people face off against them.
Mo'taz gets engaged to Khairiya. Abu Hatem decides to wed one of his daughters to a Muslim. Sobhy kills a French officer who tried to sexually harass a woman.
Mo'taz decides to work with Khater. Abu Arab buys the house of Abu Al-Nar to make the neighborhood's people angry.
As Abu Siyah reconciles with Abu Shehab and the neighborhood's people, he tries to calm Abu Arab down. Sa'eid offers his son up to Abu Siyah, but the latter refuses to kill a young child.
Bouran decides to expand her seamstress business. As Abu Hatem tries to reconcile his neighborhood and the neighborhood of Al-Mawy, Abu Arab rejects the truce. Adham and Abu Shehab join forces against the French army.
Abu Jawdat steals Nouri's gun as he plots to harm him. Abu Shehab admonishes Issam and Mo'taz for not supporting their sister, Bouran, in the wake of her husband's illness. Khairiya gets divorced.
Abu Al-Nar unites with Abu Arab against the people of the neighborhood. As Abu Hatem's coffee shop burns down, the neighborhood's people join the efforts to clean it up and restore it to its former glory.
Ibrahim remains determined to restore his rights. Hamdy tries to kill Abu Shehab to drive a wedge between the neighborhoods of Al-Mawy and Al-Dab'a. As Kamal decides to use the law to take Khairiya, Khater and his father stand in his way.
Sam'u decides to interrogate the residents of the neighborhood to find his father's killer. Issam asks his mother to sell the house to put an end to the fight between his wives, but his wife rebuffs him.
After joining the police ranks, Sam'u decides to avenge his father. Ferial quarrels with Umm Bashir. Hamdy incites Abu Arab against the neighborhood of Al-Dab'a.
As the French officer fabricates the medical report on the deceased Arab, Abu Arab decides to take revenge on the neighborhood of Al-Dab'a. Abu Nasouh sues Ibrahim for seizing his father's house.
Abu Bashir learns that Abu Ghaleb is behind what happened to him. Abu Ibrahim passes away. When Dr. Hamza treats Umm Hatem, Abu Hatem asks him to move to the neighborhood to treat the sick. A French man kills a child in the neighborhood of Al-Dab'a.
Mo'taz is distressed when he learns that Khairiya has gotten married. When Abu Ibrahim falls ill, the doctor asks his son to take him to the hospital.
Lotfiya gives birth to a girl. Ferial and Sou'ad reconcile. Abu Khater decides to wed his daughter, Khairiya, to Kamal. Abu Ghaleb causes sales in Abu Bashir's bakery to drop.
Abu Ghaleb sabotages the business of Abu Bashir to take revenge on him. When Abu Arab grows suspicious of Sobhy, he asks Abu Siyah to monitor him.
Hoda and Lotfiya clash. Abu Jawdat blackmails Nouri. The neighborhood's youth delivers weapons to the Palestinians.
Abu Shehab receives the weapons. Adham gathers his friends to ignite the spark of revolution against the French army.
Abu Hassan asks Mo'taz to inform Abu Shehab about the efforts to arm the Palestinians. Sherifa weds Abu Shehab. Zahra gives birth to a boy.
Umm Khater dies in an accident. Issam goes back to Lotfiya. Abu Shehab asks Abu Hatem for his daughter's hand in marriage.
Abu Ghaleb decides to take revenge on Abu Hatem. Ibrahim weds Dalal. Abu Hatem refuses to marry one of his daughters to Abdu. It's revealed that Hamdy is a spy who is working for the English forces.
Abu Ghaleb decides to marry the widow of Abu Samir. Abu Al-Nar asks the neighborhood's people to rent Abu Samir's shop to Abu Ghaleb, but they refuse his request.
Mo'taz refuses to wed after his father's death. Ferial sets conditions to approve Lotfiya's marriage to Issam. Abu Shehab and Abu Ibrahim agree on Dalal's marriage.
The neighborhood learns that Abu Issam was martyred. After a while, Abu Shehab asks his sister and her children to try and move on from Abu Issam's death.
