Den-noh Coil, Coil — A Circle of Children, is a Japanese science fiction anime television series depicting a near future where semi-immersive augmented reality technology has just begun to enter the mainstream. The series takes place in the fictional city of Daikoku, a hotbed of AR development with an emerging city-wide virtual infrastructure. It follows a group of children as they use AR glasses to unravel the mysteries of the half real, half Internet city, using a variety of illegal software tools, techniques, and virtual pets to manipulate the digital landscape. Den-noh Coil, in development for over a decade, is the series director debut of Japanese animator Mitsuo Iso. It premiered on NHK Educational TV on May 12, 2007. Due to the animators involved in its production and its unusually high-profile television broadcast time slot, Den-noh Coil was highly anticipated.

Yasako comes face to face with the true nature of the Coil Domain and Michiko. Even with the support of her friends, can she save Isako?
Desperate to save Isako, Yasako finds a pair of glasses that belonged to her grandfather and uses them to travel to the other side.
The events surrounding Isako frighten the other parents. In an effort to keep their children safe, they confiscate their glasses, but at what cost?
For various reasons, Nekome wants to join her brother on the other side, and the only way is to somehow convince Densuke to help.
Yasako and Isako are running from Megamass. While hiding, they discover that Densuke might be able to open a stable portal.
Megamass is doing research on the "other side" and the effects of the den-noh coil. Isako finds herself drawn into it.
Haraken uses Kanna's glasses to sneak to the "other side." Yasako also enters with the help is Isako and Tamako.
With Kyoko on the "other side", Fumie and Yasako get help from Densuke to help guide Kyoko's denno body back to her real one.
Haraken barely makes it back through Isako's gateway. Tamako, fearing for his life, takes his glasses away. Meanwhile, trouble begins as a space appears behind Megabaa's shop.
Haraken asks Isako to take him to the so-called "other world" in an effort to see if Kanna Ashihara still exists.
Haraken and Fumie discover early accounts from previous denno users. Later, Yasako visits her comatose brother.
Yasako searches for the place she met 4423. Afterward, she deduces that the place was a virtual space that was deleted.
Akira, Fumie's little brother, recalls the events thus far from his own perspective. Later, Haraken is warned by Nekome to stop investigating.
A docile illegal follows the kids on a hazardous journey through the city, driven to find more of its kind.
Yasako finds a race of microscopic illegals growing on their faces that are on the brink of destruction. Can Yasako figure out a way to save them?
Daichi's plan to acquire metabugs via a fish-type illegal doesn't go as planned and may endanger everyone in the virtual vicinity.
Following clues left by Haraken's former research partner, Haraken, Fumie, and Yasako search for any new leads.
The kids spend a dark and stormy night telling ghost stories and playing spooky games at school. Meanwhile, Haraken has an interesting other worldly experience.
Isako hatches a risky plan, and Daichi's newly rekindled friendship with Fumie may suffer as a result.
Isako once again summons an illegal with the help of the Daikoku Hackers. With Yasako and Fumie working on an unrelated case, will the virus take over?
Yasako and Fumie begin an investigation into Haraken and Searchmaton. Under pressure, Haraken reveals something huge to Yasako and Fumie.
The Hackers' Club goes on a metabug expedition over the fringes of surrounding cyberspace lead by Isako.
A battle breaks out at school! During the commotion, Fumie steals a mysterious piece of data from Amasawa.
With Densuke back, the Mojos drop him off with Isako. After freeing him from the illegal, Isako makes an enormous mistake in trying to unlock the virtual being.
Yasako and Fumie ask Yasako's grandmother to cure Densuke of his potentially fatal illness. In return, Yasako must agree to an interesting, and dangerous, bargain.
When Yasako and Kyoko's virtual pet dog, Densuke, goes missing, Yasako procures the assistance of a detective.
