Patrick, a designer who has taken on a heavy workload to support his spendthrift wife, Catherine, finds peace in the country, at a shabby dog kennel operated by a lonely young woman named Joy. Complications ensue when Joy announces that she is pregnant with Patrick's baby, and wants him to leave his wife and children to marry her. What should Patrick do, and can Dr. Corder help to resolve the situation?
The will of a recently deceased peer is questioned and Dr. Corder is called upon to assess whether the the will was made while of sound mind.
A boxer starts to lose all his fights and is at risk of having a breakdown.
A woman is knocked down by a taxi and Dr. Corder feels that this is a cr for help.
A normally tolerant teacher severely punishes a student and is charged with assault.
As part of his duties at the hospital, Dr. Corder is assigned the psychological care of an attempted suicide. Jean Forrest, a veteran stage actress, had calmly taken a taxi to the embankment of the Thames, and jumped in. Dr. Corder finds Jean to be a most difficult patient. Will he be able to restore her self-confidence and will to live?
A young woman who is saved from stepping in front of a train is referred to Dr. Corder.
