YING manages to remove the bullet from HUNG’s body and saves him from death. From an overheard conversation, WING happens to discover where the smugglers and LUNG are meeting. YING then goes to the place with TAT to see what is going on. YING gets an anonymous note advising that the place is full of explosives. He runs off at once and stays out of danger while TAT is seriously injured. YING again gets clued up about the secret meeting between LUNG and the smugglers. This is in fact a trap set up for him and TIN is shot to death in the chaos. LUNG has long suspected that TIN is the one who has betrayed him. TIN, before he draws his last breath, reveals to HUNG all the illegal activities in which LUNG is involved. HUNG and YING hurry to the real meeting place and try to stop the smuggling. With courage and determination, the two of them have eventually defeated LUNG. TIN has explained himself in his last letter……
LUNG allows KWAI to stay in Foshan but she is locked up at home all the time. YU and TING find that TIN has changed an awful lot. They get so disappointed in him that they decide to put up at Po Chi Lam temporarily. Having overcome his psychological block, HUNG is going to give YING an acupuncture treatment. Everybody has tried the best possible means to bring YING back to consciousness and HUNG is truly grateful to all of them. Dr. CHING who has come to treat YING ends up trying to kill him with a deadly poison. Much to his surprise, HUNG gets an anonymous note revealing the plot to kill his father. He can therefore TATe YING back from the verge of death in the nick of time. But not long after, Dr. CHING is murdered for no reason. HAN brings KWAI to see HUNG, during which HUNG expresses his suspicion that LUNG has something to do with CHING’s death. KWAI doubts it, though……
CHUENG formally requests the central government to dissolve the civil defense group. HUNG has no choice but to turn to LUNG for help. LUNG is ready to help, but only if HUNG promises to separate from KWAI and not to see her again for the rest of his life. HUNG, however, declines the offer. TIN feels very perplexed and decides to go uphill to visit YING’s tomb. HUNG is surprised to see TIN there and comes to suspect that he is the killer of YING. TIN is not willing to explain what on earth has happened. YU offers to defend TIN but gets blamed by TIN for being too nosy. KWAI asks LUNG why he has been trying to keep her and HUNG apart. LUNG gets irked and urges TIN to send KWAI to Hong Kong immediately. Along the way, KWAI manages to escape and she turns to HUNG for help at once. Everybody is thrilled to have found YING, who, however, has gone into a deep coma. LUNG tries but fails to kill YING……
LUNG who has been smuggling government gold decides to entrust the business to TIN, which gives TIN a great thrill. During the delivery, TIN has accidentally left a bar of gold behind, which is later found and kept by CHOI. PO suggests to HUNG that they may hypnotize KAU, through which he may get his memories back. KAU seems to have recalled something but is extremely frightened by it. With the help of the gold bar found by CHOI, HUNG manages to smash TIN’s smuggling ring. YING and HUNG persuade TIN to turn away from crime but TIN doesn’t TATe their advice. TIN happens to mention KAU during his conversation with LUNG. LUNG seems to be pondering over something when he hears KAU’s name. LUNG and KAU used to be blood brothers. But LUNG was desperate for the kung fu book and sought to push KAU down the cliffs so that he would be the only one to own the book……
To seek revenge, CHEUNG decides to have YING’s gang locked up in jail. TAT has investigated into the matter and found that YING is innocent. YING is then released. Immediately she hurries back to Foshan and begs LUNG to save HUNG. LUNG agrees to her request on condition that she will return to Hong Kong to carry on with her studies after everything is settled. Everyone is surprised to see HUNG and his mates back home without being hurt. Knowing that it is KWAI who has rescued him from danger, HUNG feels so grateful and promises to wait for her until she has finished her studies……
HUNG cannot make KWAI stay, and his friends and family are all there to comfort him. HUNG tries not to think about KWAI at the moment and decides to concentrate on the daily management of the Civil Defense Organization instead. KAU sneaks into LUNG’s warehouse, from which he has stolen a china doll. HUNG finds some opium inside the doll. YING suspects that someone is involved in opium smuggling and immediately reports to CHEUNG. Before CHEUNG arrives, TIN manages to remove the goods in which opium is hidden. CHEUNG has found no opium at the end. He grabs this opportunity to speak ill of YING again in front of TAT. LUNG gives TIN a huge sum of money as a reward. With the money, TIN can finally save YU from the brothel. TING falls ill. TIN hates everyone from Po Chi Lam and forbids FOON to see TING. CHEUNG’s staff mean to make things difficult for the Civil Defense Organization, thus getting the two groups into a serious fight……
PO offers some words of comfort to HUNG who is perplexed about his relationships with KWAI and TING. YING would like to step down as the leader of the Civil Defense Organization but TAT rejects his request. YU is glad that TIN is highly regarded by LUNG while TIN has promised her a happy life. TING is accompanied by FOON all the time and is gradually recovering. To cheer her up, FOON even asks HUNG to teach him how to make a paper grasshopper. HO expresses her love for YING but is rejected straight away. She feels really heartbroken. In the meantime, HUNG passes by and spots everything. He tries to stop SHAN and the two of them have soon got into a fight. HUNG attacks SHAN with Stiletto Fist – the kung fu flick he learnt from KAU, which surprises TIN beyond measure. KAU is actually the one who has stolen the kung fu book from TIN’s father but TIN has misTATen YING for the thief all these years. The fact that HUNG is so conversant with Stiletto Fist has further convinced TIN that YING is a thief and a hypocrite. YING and HUNG bring KAU to see TIN but TIN, who hates them more than anything, does not accept their explanation. KIN writes a letter to KWAI asking her out for a date with HUNG. In an attempt to make KWAI confess her love to him, HUNG pretends that he is going to jump off the cliffs……

LUNG and HAN are suddenly assaulted. KWAI flies off to protect her mother and gets stabbed in the back. LUNG feels so guilty for having suspected KWAI all these days. In the meantime, LUNG comes along. Believing that KWAI has stolen the cloth, he flies into a rage. KWAI is shocked to learn that LUNG and HAN are her biological parents but, as she has lost the other half of flour bag cloth, she dares not tell them the truth. FAI is planning on setting up a department store and PO offers to lend him money, which is not supported by YING. LUNG much appreciates TIN’s bravery and appoints him to oversee the daily management of his piers. YU is very pleased for TIN about this. FAI believes that a man has to have a successful career to win a woman’s heart. FOON much agrees with him and would like to invest in his department store. CHOI, however, thinks that it is a question that really needs serious consideration. MUI is caught in trouble again. KIN, who throws away his dignity to save MUI, bows his head to the ground to offer apologies……

HO is injured by KAU and looks to YING for comfort. YING, on the other hand, is very glad to have found KAU finally. PO and FAI walk down the street hand in hand. HO disapproves of PO’s behavior and reminds her to act like a decent Chinese lady. YIN grabs the guzhang from YU and forces her to sleep with a man for money. In the nick of time, TIN has arrived to stop her. YIN points out that he is too poor to help YU but her sneering comments have miraculously brought his ambition back. HAN brings KWAI to see LUNG. LUNG, however, does not seem very friendly and warns KWAI not to TATe advantage of HAN……
