Marcus, a classmate of Eliot's, finds out he needs glasses. Suddenly he becomes a serious, studious kid. Mimi's parents arrive to take Eliot along with Mimi for an afternoon in the forest. Eliot, who has read a fairy tale about Stinkem the ogre, is persuaded that the ogre is none other than Mimi's father, and that he is trying to ditch them in the woods or, worse yet, eat them for a snack.
When Eliot finds the model rocket that his father, Jeremy, has built for the exhibition at the space museum, he believes his whole family is moving to Venus. After becoming enthusiastic, Eliot realises he will never be able to leave his friends. There is no other solution but to sabotage the rocket in order to stop the move.

Eliot watches a documentary that talks about people flushing baby crocodiles, snakes and other reptiles down the toilet and into the sewers. Eliot's great aunt - whom he has never seen before - shows up at his house for the weekend. With her lank grey hair and warts, she looks like a real fairy-tale witch.
