When Cleo botches a big presentation because she’s burning the candle on both ends, she discovers shocking news that will change the family’s life forever. Family and finances collide as Tony faces his biggest test yet while renegotiating a contract for Nick.
Cleo’s father, Harvey, comes to stay with the family after Tony delays his plans to move into a new room at the retirement home. With Nick’s guidance, a fragile Roger attempts to date again.
Tony and Cleo forego using a professional to swap out their kitchen faucet, deciding instead to tackle it together. Well, at least they try to. While working on a group project, Victoria has to learn to let go of her own ideas so the team can maximize their strengths and optimize their grade.
A trip to the mall turns into an unsettling incident and a lesson on racial profiling. While Victoria’s study time turns into a learning experience she didn’t expect.
Victoria enlists Nathan’s help to win her student president campaign, but when Nathan gets into the spirit and campaigns himself, it’s all-out student war. Tony asks for a day alone to honor his anniversary with Joy but keeps getting interrupted.
Work interferes with play when Tony accompanies Cleo to a dental conference and finds she’s in high demand while he’s left to amuse himself. And when Victoria and Nathan go to the movies together, Victoria is bullied for her cosplay.
To bond with her father and brother, Victoria joins their improv class. Things go awry when she learns she’s terrible at acting. Meanwhile, Cleo helps Nick restore his reputation with her hometown of Chicago.
Tony and Cleo learn the importance of co-parenting while preparing a party for Nathan’s 16th birthday. Roger is excited that Charlie is named his school’s hall monitor and takes him to work to show him the ropes.
After a six-month absence, Cleo is thrilled to go back to work, despite doubting her family can survive without her. But she finds that a lot has changed at the dental clinic—where does she fit in? Meanwhile, when an overworked Nick suffers a sports injury, Tony has to choose between advising his nephew-client as an agent or an uncle.
Cleo (Kate Hewlett) and Tony’s (Arnold Pinnock) six-month anniversary has arrived, and they have plans for a grownup date night. But before that can happen, Tony checks in on Nick’s first commercial shoot and nearly ruins it due to hang-ups from Tony’s past. Victoria and Nathan try to outdo each other buying gifts for their parents. Meanwhile, Roger gets a surprise day with Charlie and isn’t as prepared as he’d like.
