Rev Run's Sunday Suppers
2014Exemplary father of 6, Rev Run finds his true joy in family, good friends, and great food. But with 4 of their 6 kiddos off on their own, Rev and Justine have a near empty nest and long for the days of a full table. Determined to get the gang back together for weekly Sunday dinners, they will use simple, heartfelt recipes to lure the kids (and some special guests) back to the table. From Justine's Famous Lasagna, to Rev's BBQ, each episode will unveil a new recipe to be shared among new and old guests. Sunday by Sunday, Rev and Justine will show that the perfect family meal isn't just about the food, it's about who is sitting at the table to share it.
Seasons & Episode
Justine hosts a traditional English high tea, with flaky scones, strawberry jam and finger sandwiches, in the Season 3 premiere. Meanwhile, Rev Run makes Parmesan meatball sliders just in case cucumber with herb butter and smoked salmon with creme fraiche don't appeal to their guest.
A sushi craving leads to a Japanese meal of miso soup, chicken teriyaki, a simple salad with carrot-ginger dressing, and maki rolls.
Homemade ravioli is prepared by Justine in hopes of impressing her sister who's a professional chef. Also on the menu: cheesy bruschetta; and tiramisu.
Mexico City inspires Justine to make some authentic street food for the family. Included: carnitas tacos with roasted salsa verde and homemade guacamole; chicken quesadillas.
A classic Caribbean meal is made in honor of Justine's visiting parents. On the menu: beef patties; Jamaican jerk chicken; rice and peas.
Justine plans a stay-cation with a Hawaiian luau theme. On the menu: green papaya salad; banana leaf-steamed pork; and a tropical banana-guava pie.
Rev makes deep-fried hush puppies for a friendly cook-off. His dish goes up against juicy beef tenderloin and crunchy fish fry.
A healthy meal is prepared, including glazed salmon with a refreshing mango salsa; Parmesan-roasted broccoli; naturally sweet baked apples with homemade honey Greek yogurt.
Favorite bowling alley snacks receive a healthy twist. Included: Classic buffalo flavors and Asian-inspired teriyaki sauce are used when Rev and his son make wings two ways. The menu also features flavorful turkey kielbasa dogs topped with red-onion sauce; and oven-roasted sweet potato fries with garlic aioli.
